Laphers Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 The mission of the Woodcutters Guild is to provide forestry resources (lumber, branches, treebark, resin) to the people of MD while ensuring responsible, sustainable forestry practices are maintained. nadrolski 1 Quote
Kamisha Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 lol Well often with the tree planting in order to replace the trees there is a failure to maintain the biodiversity of the region by planing one type of fast growing tree in order to allow the logging company to come back in a few years too cut down the forestry in that area. What kind of policy are you recommending for planting and what kind of forestry cutting practice do you plan on using. Quote
Laphers Posted December 6, 2010 Author Report Posted December 6, 2010 We will be replanting from seeds/nuts taken from the same area, preferably from surrounding trees or the one that is being removed. We do not accept the idea of clearing an area of trees but will take sparingly from areas that will not be harmed in the taking. It is necessary at times to thin some trees out so that those that are left behind can grow stronger without the competition for light and nutrients. Quote
