Hi everyone,

I'd need a few explanation on the roleplay aspect of this game if you don't mind.

Well, I started playing several days ago and I think I finally got a grip on the mechanics, even if some aspects of the rituals still escape my grasp but I'm working on it; it's a relief that losses aren't as bad as in other games.

Anyway, the most obscure aspect of this game to me remains the roleplay; I mean, I keep reading about quests and see that they are constantly going on but I can't find a way to actually join them. A couple of days ago I expressed my intention to join the quest of restoring the moon and the darkness (thanks to Penelope :) ) which, in my opinion, suited me best since I chose darkness (I know it's not necessarily related to night and actual darkness) as the highest of my principles and now I'm trying to actively partecipate in it.

In the chat I never saw (as of today) any actual roleplay so I guess it's not being done there, am I right?

I found the "The Sun That Never Sets" thread in the forum and I'd like to post something but I don't know how to do it, I fear I may do something wrong... how much of it is based on real game facts and how much is invented by the players? If I say something pertinent to a quest that matches my background BUT is invented by me how can I be sure it's acceptable???

Can someone tell me more of the roleplay aspects of this game? Specifically what should I do to actively partecipate in a roleplay quest?

Thanks in advance.

Michele, some folks participate some do not. The only way to really join in is to do it. It is roleplay, it is pretend...and some just don't like to play along.

One of the best things to do, I think, is to develop your own character. Who is thisismuch? What does he want? Who would he join with, avoid, make fun of? What does he like, and what does he want to change.

Players can make a difference here, but it takes a lot of "Play" before the reality sets in. Make yourself known and have fun. You will learn soon who plays and who does not. You will also learn to make your own fun, when you can.

well, first of all, thank you for your answer but it was not the point of my questions; I mean, I know how to roleplay, i did it extensively in the past; what I don't know is how to do it HERE.

I try to explain myself better: I saw that some roleplay storyline like "The Shadow Ballance" continue to go on every day or so but I actually saw no real roleplay going on so I was asking:

Assuming I already came up with a background and a goal of sort for my PC (which is true, anyway).

Is the roleplay being played by PMs or by the forum? If so, how do I join a storyline? I mean, everyone can read those threads but I can't just pop in there partecipating to the discussion like I was there from the beginning, can I?

And again, if I manage to join a storyline, is the discussion based entirely on in-game facts or the player can invent things? If so, is there a rule or something to judge what is acceptable or not? And last is there a lore I should read before joining a storyline?

I hope I explained myself better :)

Bye.
