Healer of Horando

For those of you who don't know the how the legend of Envy of Endurance was founded we dive deep into the story of his travels.

There was once a young baby born to a family of soldiers. He was the only in their family born with wings, but he could not fly. While pregnant with the newborn, the mother was attacked by a giant Winderwild. One with huge wings and powerful talons. Some say that was the reason the baby was born with small wings that really had no use. When the family saw the new baby with wings, they cast that tiny child out and banned him from their lives. They would not have such a creature under their roof. "Why has Mur given us such a horrid creature as a child", the father screamed out towards the heavens.

A young women, member of another land of soldiers, found this tiny child. She was barren and could not have a child of her own, so she was immediately attached to this baby she found. She raised the child as her own and named him Envy. Her brothers helped raise the child as a soldier of war. As the child grew he greatly adapted a sense of being and when challenged with a power too great to battle he simply withdrew from his human body and floated around as a spirit. Now, he couldn't fly in the human form with the wings or in the spirit world, but he would float a few inches off the ground when scared, but only in the spirit form.

When Envy was about 12, he was already helping his new family preparing their village meals. On his next birthday the men of the village took him out on his first hunt. While on a hunt for wild boar, Envy got cornered by a charging Grasan Huvourer. At the time this was the largest creature Envy had ever seen. He immediately withdrew from his human body and entered the spirit world. He was in the spirit world an extremely long time, and to the other hunters of the village, it looked as if Envys human form laid their dead in the dirt. They had seen this before when he was younger but only for a few moments and never for hours. As night fall began to set the hunter continued back to the village and left Envy laying their in the dirt incase Mur brought him back to life. As they could tell, that Grasen killed Envy or took his spirit from his body. The next morning Envy finally reentered his human form and tried to find his way back to the village. Unfortunately, Envy was lost in the wilderness.

Finally, after many, many hours of walking around in the wilderness, Envy came across new land. No one remembers the name of this city and this may be the only written record of a city like this anywhere because the city was taken back by the sea many years later. Taking all the stone carvings, wall writings and scrolls of the scholars that populated this tiny area. Envy quickly found work as a intern for a apothecary and a great healer of the city. The healers name was Hornado and was respected by the members of the city. Growing up as a Great Winged soldier was exciting for Envy but it was never his real calling. He seeked more and he spent many hours reading scrolls on healing powers and how to cast spells of healing. Since Envy was a soldier first, he combined his knowledge of war and healing and came up with some great defensive rituals. It is said that Envy was never a good at fighting when in the human form, but he could protect himself well and used that knowledge to teach others. Some say it's because he was really a spirit and not a human that made him a bad fighter, but we may never know.

One day, after years living in that city and learning much, Horando died. This left Envy with an empty spot in his heart and to pass on Horandos legacy, Envy took on the title of "Healer of Hornado". He left the city and headed for the lands of Marind Bell that he had heard about in passing from travelers. One the road Envy didn't want anyone to know of his family that cast him out. Should he make an enemy on his adventures, he didn't want that enemy to send a drachorn to burn down the city he once lived in. To make sure this wouldn't happen Envy decided to change his name to Envy of Endurance. This also had a sense of power to it and Envy thought the name was fitting to his character and knowledge of defense and healing. He had strived to learn more and become a Great Healer despite how he was cast from his family at birth.

Envy of Endurance came to Marind Bell and immediately found friends and started teaching lessons at Clash of Ages. He figured if he were to share his knowledge he may find a permanent position somewhere. An older, wise man crossed paths with Envy while he was teaching his daily lessons at Clash of Ages. The man was named King Bull and he had a passion to start up a university somewhere in the vicinity of the lands and asked Envy if he would like to join and offer some teachings. At the same time Calyx of Isis who was running her own area of knowledge and training got together with King Bull and Envy. Having three minds involved together would ensure the creation of one of the most enhanced learning facilities in all of the lands. And so, MD University was created.

Continuing his services he started back up teachings at Clash of Ages while the university was being built and was given a position as a server of the MD World. Mur, the great leader made him into an RPC of his world. With this promotion came great responsibility and more knowledge of his new world. Envy got into an illusion of the mind of the creator of MD and in the process, Envy lost his wings. To him himself, Envy began practicing spells the apothecary once taught him when he was an intern. He learned many useful spells, and a some that he remembered how to make, but could never quite learn to cast.

Without hesitation Envy started on his first quest to find a jesters hat. While this quest started out great, it ended quickly as Envy lost his amulet that Hornado had passed down to him. Something Envy cherished and instead of continuing the quest, Envy spent many long days searching for the amulet that meant so much to him. Many moons had fallen behind the horizon when Envy came across something glowing in the moon light. Could it be Horandos lost amulet? Envy approached the glowing object and leaned closer to it. Reached out his hand to pick it up and right when he was about to close his hand around it, it disappeared. He heard a faint voice in the wind. One that sounded like Horandos that said, "Search no more my friend. Go forth on a new quest. The Quest of Healing".

And that's where the Healer of Horando title came from. Now I go and protect my adepts from war with the teachings of defensive rits.
