Personally I think sniping should be out of the question same method as E-bay extended by predetermined time if a new post is made in the last another predetermined time.

Midnight on 7th, would be server time on 7th, the time stamp on the forum messages you see are your time, not server time, 11pm GMT, which i presume you are on because it's the same time that i see, would be 0100am server time, an hour after midnight server time.
