Avatar Changes?

I am curious as to whether or not we are allowed to make minor changes to our avatars?

For instance, add more details to the face, or skin to show age, or progression from recent events?

Personally, while I like that idea, since they are the work of another artist I think it would be best if you simply re-drew your avatar from scratch, with the changes you wanted implemented.

Changing someone elses artwork without their permission is incredibly rude, so I doubt it would get accepted without being re-done completely.
