Avatars should be your own work or you should have obtained permission for Magicduel to use them, if you upload them. Avatars will not be removed if another player reports it, However if the artist comes forward and asks for the avatar to be removed it will be done. Keep in Mind that if someone reports your avatar's and you are caught uploading another artists material this can lead to a Avatar uploading ban or worse. If two identical Avatars are spotted in the shop then one will be removed if someone just copied it, or both will be removed depending on the situation. Today I found about this Chinese painter who laid out 6 laws for drawing: 1. Engender a sense of movement through spirit consonance. 2. Use the brush with the bone method. 3. Responding to things, depict their form. 4. According to kind, describe appearances [with color]. 5. Dividing and planning, positioning and arranging. 6. Transmitting and conveying earlier models through copying and transcribing. To me, these are pointers on how to draw, how to compose and how to train yourself in the art. This topic belongs to many sections, so I chose this one. Do what you must do if I did wrong, mods. The maple sapling at Sanctuary's View, where I'm gonna spend some time, is not getting enough light. You can see the sunlight hits all trees from the right, while the maple is just as dark on both sides. It's great artwork, but it looks out of place because of this. It's precisely because it looks good that I'd like it to get the right light, because a point can be made that the added artwork like chairs or barrels aren't shaded right either.

I would like to remind everybody who's going to draw artworks for MD that it should be original art and not copied or heavily influenced by other artworks outside of MD. We had those situations before and there were some in the recent history. It is obvious that we cant see or know everything but sooner or later we might find out about it, so even if such art at some point gets approved it doesnt mean that it wont be discovered as copied sometime later. What triggered this is our latest unfortunate discovery about heavily influenced artworks. With the implantation of Assira's new brace, and the change of my overall features since death; I am looking to hire for a new avi made. I want them to reflect my old avi that amoran made for me (can get you a pic), as well as the one I am currently using. I am unsure where to officially post this, so posting here. 2 of my old avy's are just kept in my vault, feeling useless. One of them is gold, drawn by a friend as a gift, and I plan to continue passing it on to someone who can make good use of it. There was a request for an easy-to-use GIMP tutorial to make raw avatar scans upload-worthy, so I made one. GIMP is free software; go to [url="http://www.gimp.org/"]www.gimp.org[/url] to download. I start off by cropping and resizing in MS Paint, because it's waaaaay easier to do this in Paint. Then I go to GIMP for contrast and transparency. This tutorial is complete with all of the steps I use for my own uploads, so it will work for yours. Steps: Copy the image file to have a backup.
