As of late [namely since I went into Stat Damage], I've been seeing the following notifications:

Notifications
[heat increased] Heat increased by -2 because you are on unfamiliar territory.
[hostile energy] You lost 116 vitality. This is territory damage, you are on unfamiliar territory.

Another notification stated something about Bad Luck and losing vitality or AP. I cannot remember.

Is this a bug, or just a normal feature?

I would think that that's a normal feature of the game because you are part of an alliance.
Any ground that's not your homeland causes negative ve "bonuses" hence the
"because you are on unfamiliar territory" part.

At least, that's what I've heard
Can't say 100% since I'm not part of an alliance.

What I find strange is not the vitality damage (which is totally normal), but that you lose heat while on unfamiliar land.. That might have been a bug (unless you have negative briskness, which might have something to do with that).

Negative Briskness makes you get negative heat, Immunity under 100 makes you lose VE on hostile territory, negative luck makes you have bad luck and loses VP/AP randomly when running. It's all on your profile ;)
