WP Quest: Personal Paper Creator

This quest is to make a personal page that fulfills some specific guidelines below. An example of a personal page that we are looking for is on my personal page here: http://magicduel.com/players/chewett (note this is outdated and havent had time to update it)

 

The quest is so that a number of designs of personal pages can be coded so that people can freely use them. This means that by submitting your code for the competition you agree for me to put it up as a template for others to use. This also means that it should not include personal comments about you or be designed specifically for you (like mine is, and therefore wouldnt do well in the quest), but be general so anyone can use it. Including sections for people to write information about themselves however is part of the critera (see below)

 

The quest will be rated on, and therefore your submission should be coded based on these criteria

1. Cleanness of code - nice looking code, css and javascript

2. Use of Template markings, using things on this page - http://magicduel.com/pages/help.personalpagetpl.php and this page:

3. Ability to add personal comments, having some empty sections where people can add comments, a wishlist and similar

4. A description how to use the template

5. Beauty - Does it look good?

6. Other minor criteria are not released, may be added to in the future

 

Submission: You should make a forum post with the code, a description how to add the code to your personal page, and any special features such as places to write your own content. All code written for the quest is released to MagicDuel so that we and others may use the template freely.

 

Quest Rewards: At least 1 Wishpoint, possibly more depending on submissions

 

Quest Deadline: September, 17th maybe, you have at least 3 months to do it.

That sound interresting. I never made code for MD, but if it's just javascript, it can be quite fun =). I'll do something.

By the way, I've heard that we can use JQuery, is it actually true ?

Most definately, it should be included on every page, if it doesnt work without including it send me a pm or something and i will look into it.

- Ability to give spelldoc "lightnings lvl 1"

- Ability to give spelldoc "Timeless Shot lvl 1"

 

 

Thats right, two rewards, for two SEPARATE winners (to be decided by chew), and the reward is not the spelldoc itself but the ability to reward it to others (yourself including ofc). This ability comes with responsability and rules of use too. I might change the spelldoc at a later time, but right now i think these two should be fine (chew pm me if you thing otherwise).

 

If by some miracle there will be more of you to submit incredibly nice layouts, i am willing to increase the rewards number

Given the sizable time limit, I think that I will try to make a submission. I don't know your reasons for choosing those two spelldocs, Mur, but I'd think Seduction would be more appropriate given the nature of what's being created here. Maybe I need to think more--or less--on this subject.

I don't know if this fits in this topic. But could somebody give an explanation on how to use the artwork from MD. I mean the paper background on which the text is written for the normal personal papers.

I'll try to submit something, but it'll more likely be a few general ideas with terrible/no artwork rather than one beautiful page ready for use instantly. Also, the main reason i'm trying is because the rewards here are ridiculously out of proportion. Just saying. Good luck to everyone else, and if you have an idea but don't want to code, let me know.  :D

I didnt get very many entries and was waiting for a couple of people who asked me not to close it. Since they havent got back i will consider closing and reviewing this in a couple weeks.
