Czez Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 I have to agree that it's too easy for just anyone to do damage this way, and they do, whether accidentally or maliciously. Especially for mp4 chars, it doesn't feel worth the time spent training when it's undone by so little effort. Relying on good sense or goodwill of players isn't enough. And I don't really believe there exists a choice between training and roleplaying. The overall effect here is not any incentive to spend more time socialising in sanctuaries. Trained fighters should be able to do all the damage they like, but this should be more difficult than it is now for most people.
dst Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 One question: as a fighter why stay at mp4? All the good things happen in mp5. So unless you are a RP-er you have no reason not to advance. And if you are a RP-er you don't care about crits and stats and fights.

You roleplay whether you've ever used blue text to emote or not. And you're not the sort of player I'm worried about. You know what you're doing. I'm never going to invest into my chars what would make them exceptional, at any mp level. But I'm not interested in rp'ing a char who cannot fight. And I don't want to keep repeating what little I do find the energy for in their training because just anyone too easily removes it.
Jester Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 (edited) Its not "easy" to remove someones fighting ability. On MP5 its nearly impossible since people can recover, but on MP3 and MP4 the amount of effort required to get that ability is more than most can put in. Also, there are ways of guarding yourself against it. I wish it was easier, there are a lot of people I want to destroy, but its not at all. Edited June 12, 2009 by Jester
Burns Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) It is not that hard... however, there are means to defend yourself against such things, and they are totally easy to set... you'd just need to read your logs sometimes Edited June 13, 2009 by Burns
Jester Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 It'd be a lot harder if you didn't give them instructions on how to do it, Burns.
Burns Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) but me is evil, and i want more evil people to evolve better in here ^^ oh, and i don't pass on the things you can't find in every second log, anybody who cares can find out such things in an instant by keeping some 'strange' logs and working through them until they have the solutions they want  Edited June 13, 2009 by Burns
dst Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 Defending against regenis not that easy. It seems easy now that you know how to do it but 1 year ago it was a pain in the behind. And what's surprising is that even now there are old mp5s that have no clue how to do it (and trust me, I know cause |I have seen so many logs...)
