I cannot go into safe mode to fix it, I can't go into any mode without it restarting. The BIOS didn't help me one bit. I do not have a windows xp home edition installation disk because it was my dad's old computer, I just upgraded it a couple months ago with no problem.

The computer just starts up, enters the black screen that asks for permission for safe mode, or to start windows normally. Then it shows those files and goes to the loading screen and then restarts.

Can someone tell me whether I can do a Chkdsk without the cd?

all you have done is copied down those files, they are the system files that are being loaded. How the hell did you copy the files down?

can you describe it a little better?

so it boots, shows the widows logo and the bar below it? while it loads? and then restarts?

My computer will not boot up beyond the mentioned spot [multi(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\Windows\system32\Drivers\Mup.sys]. Instead, it goes into a cycle of shutting down, rebooting and displaying the boot error menu, then booting again, and then shutting down.

Edit: As for the word for word, I wrote it down on my laptop.
