Passant the Weak Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 It is my understanding that we can't get skills in fight when capped. I am currently capped and I noticed I receive Skill Damage when losing against a player with such ability. Shouldn't I be protected from Skill Damage, the same way I can't increase my skills? Quote
dst Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 Err...who told you that or where have you read that? Quote
Root Admin Chewett Posted February 5, 2012 Root Admin Report Posted February 5, 2012 The answer is No, you arent... its not a bug. Nor as dst pointed out, no where i have ever seen it saying that. Quote
Passant the Weak Posted February 5, 2012 Author Report Posted February 5, 2012 Is my understanding correct then, when I'm capped? - I can't get skills while fighting - I can lose skill when being attacked Quote
Seigheart Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 I think he is trying to point out the "flaw" in the logic. If you can't gain skills when you're capped, why should you be able to lose them? The answer is simple; because you can lose heat. Atrumist 1 Quote
Burns Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 Because you aren't allowed to take the gains you'd normally get from combat while capped, you can't increase your skills, that's correct. Stat damage isn't based on the gains of combat, but a completely different approach than 'normal' combat, and works on a different, separated system. So, your understanding is correct, you can't gain stats, but when you lose to a skilldamager, you can lose them. Apart from that, not a bug, moved to Q&A. Quote
Udgard Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 On a related question, if you have 1k more losses than wins (hence falling to skilldamage area), will losing on cap make you lose stats? I assume this skilldamage works on the same basis as skillgain instead of the skilldamage stat basis, but it's just a guess. Quote
Passant the Weak Posted February 6, 2012 Author Report Posted February 6, 2012 Thanks for the clarification! Means that iy is another way to protect from skill damage that won't work.... back to blackborad. Quote
