Grido Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 tl;dr? From 16th Jan, Instagram(owned by facebook) will be able to sell/trade the photo's you take via the program without either your consent or knowledge unless you delete it prior to that point. Whilst I'd naturally encourage people who don't want their personal photo's sold and traded without their consent, to delete it, I'm also fairly certain that someone/many people will start a law suit against them pretty much as soon as they start actually selling/distributing them and the contract would be deemed invalid and overturned. That, or the public outcry against this / massive amounts of people deleting it, would cause a massive drop in users and they may rethink the idea. Watcher, Junior, awiiya and 2 others 2 3 Quote

awiiya Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 (edited) Come on. http://www.theverge....hey-really-mean Instagram is smarter than that. What it REALLY does is provide more precise language in their terms of services, and it's more restrictive than before. Instagram has technically had the power to sell your photos since day 1. They just never have, because obviously all of their users would hate that. And if you want a summary of Instagram's own response: http://www.theverge....ell-your-photos This is the internet. Remember to do research before you get outraged about something so clearly ridiculous.
