When clicking on specific post links (that number on the top-right) it takes you to the first page of the thread rather than the post itself, even if that specific post is on the second/third/further page...

 

For example, clicking on http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/8052-conspiracy-theories/#entry89610 should take you to a post on the third page of the conspiracy theories topic, but instead it takes you to the first page even though the link is correct.

 

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

 

Whether this is a bug or not, I strongly suggest that it should get changed to how it was before.

What are you doing to get the link?

 

I have found that if you create a post, then ask for the link without reloading, it will give the wrong one.

I get the link with the #entry line as well when using the post number on the top right side (which is the only way I currently know of - how do we get the p= ones?).

Funny thing is, sometimes they do work, sometimes they don't.

However the post you linked:

http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/14231-destruction-of-alts/#entry137640 leads properly to the post

 

Perhaps there is something to do with the thread length?

It might be that because the threads have hidden posts and its giving you bad stats,

 

In all cases i cant do anything since this forum software is exceptionally poor.

How do you get the ?p= line?

 

When I manually change the http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/8052-conspiracy-theories/#entry89611 to http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/8052-conspiracy-theories/?p=89611, it redirects to http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/8052-conspiracy-theories/page-3#entry89611 which does point out to the correct post. 

 

So perhaps the problem is only with the #entry lines, and the ?p= lines are working perfectly fine.

To get it i click the #5 and/or the sharing link next to the #5 and a popup comes up with the url.

Hmm, does it differ based on browsers (I'm on chrome)? The #5 for me only shows the #entry one. Clicking it just brings me straight to the post without any popups.

On opera it brings up a sharing popup. Have you tried pressing the sharing icon instead of the #5

I'm using opera as well and i don't get the sharing popup you mention.Clicking the number just gets my window "centralized" to the post (if i have understand correctly that's what it does for Udgard as well ).  Maybe it's some setting that needs to be changed (either forum one or browser one , don't know ). 

 

Also, where is that sharing icon you speak off ? I have no sharing link next to the post numbers (next to #8 for example for your last post).

I think the forum skin is screwed up, I will recode it when I get home.

Iv just redone this, it might work now?

For me it works now. I can see the link next to each #number and i get the popup when clicking it.

Yep, can see it now. Before I get to the part where you said you updated it I had thought "hey, how come I never noticed that stuff over there? :)) " 

fixed, moved
