A Public Resource Splitter would be a clickie that opens a fancy GUI, each PRS has a few different resources it can accept. One in MB might accept water in bushes, one in LR might accept herbs (of all types) and flowers. A GG PRS would split memorystones and fenths, an NC PRS would split Skulls,Bones, etc. The list goes on.

At a PRS you would be allowed to put any amount of resources of the corresponding type into the machine, and take any amount (less than the amount in the machine :P) out of the machine. This would allow hardcore resource gatherers to sell smaller quantities of their resources or for people to create public banks of resources.

Currently? No. See the other topics for full reasons.

I'm sure that if you wrote an essay on how such a splitter would work according to MD physics, you might have a better chance of the idea being accepted. Right now the chance is 0, because it's impossible to split a concept into halves without affecting the original concept (or so I think).

Change is exceptionally right. If you want to change something like this you will indeed need to write something like a paper explaining why your new idea should go against past documented explanations.

Perhaps a resource "teacher"?  It would have two components, take certain inputs...memory stones, heat from the giver, fenths, heat from the recipient...and both would gain an amount of resource proportional to the amount the "teacher" is holding.

yes ..the "problem" is that i want resurces to be so, many reasons.

the way resources are balances how easy they are to be gathered

only thing i am willing to change is the presentation form. maybe instead of having 100 lumber that can' be splitt you could have more vague indicators, like "few" "some" "several" "plenty" instead of numbers ... but that an other topic

Yes Rophs, write a comprehensive paper on the subject. As already said in a few other topics, not many ppl read long posts :) and especially not Mur or Chewett

@Mur: That would be interesting indeed: "few" "some" "several" "plenty", and how will you be able to do trades if you don't know exactly how much will the other one offer you ? Just for the thought.

And to complete your sentence, please correct me if I am wrong:

"the way resources are balances how easy they are to be gathered"  ; it is not in the current plan to make it easier to trade them nor to make it easier for the grinders.

Don't worry, I don't mind and I am still encouraging the mass trading ( in large volumes ).

@Rophs : don't bother splitting the resources, PM me with what you have to trade and I might be able to offer you water / stones / smth else for your large amounts of resources.

While i cannot speak for Mur i read (nearly*) all posts, especially the longer ones because if someone has spent the time to write it out, you should spend your time to respect their views and read it.

Edit:

*Nearly: I normally dont read the long posts about philosophy and such mur posts, immediately, mainly because when i wake up at 6AM i dont want to be reading deep philosophy

This is just to say:  I empathise, but when I go to sleep at 5 AM, writing about deep philosophy sure is appealing.  :D

So maybe write the comprehensive paper at those peak hours of the night, but then post it in the afternoon?  (After revising)

I read all posts except some of Murs philosophy, which interests me less. If you are talking about reasoning for a feature im very interested no matter the time. Why do you think i have so many posts on the forum? I reply to prettymuch everything lol.
