Aza Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Hello, I’m new to this game and I found today that I could fight against myself. Load Aza creaturesLoad Aza creatures COMBO: Adding 8 combo vitality bonus for this ritual Applying 0% of Aza's energetic influence Applying 0% of Aza's energetic influence That’s problematic because : I always get a loss for the fight, so I can collect loss without losing any vitality… …but in the battle log, these fights are counted as victories, so I can collect safely and easily a lot of logged wins… Depending on the creatures I take for the rituals, I can easily : Decrease my total xp (or increase it of course) Safely increase the xp of a creature Make self healing rituals fights Increase the numbers of wins of my creatures without making them gaining xp Make a creature fight herself I think other things are possible… I know that’s forbidden but it is easy to do so I think some players use it. And it is unfair for all the others. The game master might know how I did that. I hope that he can fix the problem quickly. Thanks. (NB : sorry for my bad english) Quote
Ren Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Out of random wtf curiosity, where did you find a button to attack yourself? O.o Quote
Ren Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 If there's no button, how did you discover you could fight yourself Quote
Aza Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Posted July 12, 2008 I made web sites a few years ago so i know how it works. I just thought that even if there's no button, the code would allow it. I'm curious, so I tried and it worked. But it shouldn't. Quote
meiche Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 That's kind of nuts. Has anyone else successfully done this? Quote
Ren Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 So in other words you're screwing with the system. stop that now. Quote
Aza Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Posted July 12, 2008 Yes, I screwed with the system because it can be screwed. This game is in alpha, isn't it ? So the aim is to let the players find bugs ? I'm sure some other players have found it, but haven't told anything. I found this today, tried to see what i could do with this, and posted this note on the forum in the evening. But I didn't tell how to do this, the game master might know and should fix it. So I think I act right. (and sorry again for bad english, it's hard to tell it clearly with a foreign language...) I think u did the right thing, as u have highlighted a backdoor to manipulating the system. Now King Manu can fix this so it can't happen again And u never know, he may ask u to work with him to safeguard against any other bugs in the system. Two heads r better than one Quote
dst Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Hei, Ren & cheweet, the guy did nothing wrong. He found a bug and he reported it. Stop attacking him. @Aza: Good job! Quote

Glaistig Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Seems like the system isn't foolproof I think it is fine as long as he reports what he can exploit and helps Manu fix things up. Quote
Grido Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 in the 'Uncommon things that you CAN do' bit in the game it says: ''You are free to do anything in the game that is tehnicalyy allowed. If you consider that you discovered some sort of exploit or a bug, report it to a moderator. You are allowed to use any exploit you discover, until it hets fixed, as long as you report it in time.'' phlegmtheorem Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Awesome job finding that Aza... It was a good idea too. Quote
Aza Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Posted July 12, 2008 Yes, it is a good idea to make autoduels, and i think it should be implemented legally, but not that way because for now it can be exploited. It would be nice to be able to make your own creatures fight each others in order to test rituals (or selfheal ?). Quote

Aza Posted July 13, 2008 Author Report Posted July 13, 2008 Now it has been fixed, could we talk about the possibility of making legally autoduels ? As I said earlier, if it was well implemented, it should be a special feature that allows you to virtually test rituals with no win/loss/xp. But perhaps it also could be a way to self heal... because I don't believe that begging for healing rituals in the chat is a good thing in this game. That's just my point of view. What do you think about it ? Quote
