Pretty soon we're going to need a set of commentaries that discuss which announcements supercede which other announcements, the relative validity of forum posts, documentation, and announcements, whether a list of rules (undated) supercedes any particular announcement, and a linguistics analysis as to what was really meant when any given words were written.

The end result of all this is that players don't know what rules to take seriously, and mostly assume that they can do anything the game mechanics allow (which is not unreasonable). Then the gods come along and arbitrarily punish whatever innovative and creative thinking they think is abuse, on that particular day, depending on their mood.

And yes, even in real life, we wait until enough children have been run over at any particular intersection before we put up a traffic light - there.

This situation is a major negative to Magic Duel, and should be tackled at a policy level by the council.

well with all this comotion (and I don't think this thread should be closed yet) I want to ask :
we all know that going lower right at willow's shop can be acessed ONLY if you followed a certain story part... though it is accessible to most...
would a person be taken out of there as well?
and if so, what about a person hiding in the labyrinth?

The story mode-restricted places are off-limits last time I checked (which is a looong time ago - I don't think there would have been any change though).

I don't know for sure about the labyrinth, but as it's a freely accessible place for EVERY person, I would think it's perfectly fine.

Labirinth is accessible to everyone (no! not the player).Certain Marind Bell locations (and others as well) are accessible only through story or wish shop. You do the math now.

okay... I see your logic... how about this :
consider there is a place that needs about 200 action points to enter, and it's viscosity is 40, making it 240 ap...
now EVERYONE can enter it, but not everyone can enter it, because even with free credits and many other things, they might not be able to get their ap up to 240...
basically, I'm not sure if such a place exists... but I've seen places with 100 ap disregarding viscosity, and I haven't explored much... if there are such places, 'regular' people might not be able to access it, even though they are allowed to...

you should notice by now that I don't ONLY mean about high ap demand, but : places you "are allowed to enter" but simply "can not enter"... are those places off limits??

also, is GG also off limits? I mean ppl can get there in general... so it shouldn't be, should it?

Gg is not off-limits since you can enter and exit it via the Laby. And as long as you don't need a special key to enter a place (like the ones given by the story or wish shop) you're free to stay in there as long as you want.

The Labyrinth is a puzzle, the rewards for the first person to solve it (Pigeater) were huge. Land Affiliation with the Labyrinth (the only person to have that, ever, I believe), +10k max ve, $20 worth of credits and a puzzle medal. Now, story mode is also a puzzle, if "solved" correctly you can gain access to places that others cannot, if you don't then..oh well, you'll have to try and get a WP to unlock places- ANOTHER puzzle you have to solve to get access to an area within a land that others may not have.

As I see it, if you solve the labyrinth puzzle, and get to GG, then you are very lucky(/skilled), as with gaining access to other lands "secret" areas.

Both are rewards for hard work.

The Gates of Ages are also open from inside I think.

Dont be stupid, Story mode isnt a puzzle to be solved.

the process of story mode is to follow some sembilance of your characters though, and through that it should effectively place you at specific points giving you specific advantages or disadvantages. However it hasnt been finished yet.

Simply put, if you are in places others cannot reach, then you can be removed, and complained against.

Lab/GG can be gotten by everyone, they spent the time to get there, they are limited as they will have limited amount of heads to collect, wheras not going there, someone could amass a lot of heads.

Seeing as my response to Chewett seems to have "miraculously" disappeared..I will re-write it.

I know that story made is to allow a deeper creation of the character, but to some it still is a puzzle to be solved.

I know lot's of people that have created alternative accounts just to see what lies beyond the other options, "Where does this lead to?", "What happens if I do this instead?" etc.

I think everyone sees it differently. The first time I did story, I saw it exactly as you said Chewy, now when ever I do it again I think to myself what I wrote above. To me the Beserkers puzzle is the opposite, the first time it was a puzzle...now to me it's just another thing to do to get further in the game. With story mode there are so many paths to take ( as with the labyrinth ), whereas the Beserkers Puzzle? Same thing over and over again. That's the only reason I say that story mode is a puzzle.
