Hello all! I found out about this game 2 weeks ago. I played my first week with the demo account and as soon as i logged in, i felt in love with the game. 1 week later i created my own one: Braiton.

Anyway, back to topic, I can translate the game to Spanish. I have lots of free time in my hands. Im a fluent Spanish speaker as its my native language and i have no problem with english. So if you need my help, im always here.

See you all soon!

You need to send Mr. Manu a mail about this.

From the changelog:

[2008-01-25 01:29:54 - Alpha 5]

ANNOUNCEMENT

We are looking for players that can translate the game in any other language. This is a voluntary job not a paid one, we are looking for people that want to help expand this not to hire. Also because the translation requires you to know the game very good, you must have at least 20 activity days in the game to be selected. There is a lot of work in this so if you dont want to get realy involved then please dont start. Please provide full name, playername, activity days, real age, and if possible any kind of work or proof that states your abilities in that language, beeing a citizen of that country is simply not enough. The game has several important sections that require very good translations skills and of course very good understanding of the english language. Once selected, you will be responsable for language edits related to your language and further collaboration (promotion in your country) is possible in the future. Please contact me at manu@magicduel.com. Thank you for understanding, thank you for reading my bad english  and hopefully we will see this game available to more countries soon.

p.s. english spelling checks wont be done for now, i will post an other announcement about this when it will be needed.

Im not sure if mur needs anymore translators but give it a go. If you say you are new you may have to get those 20 activity days

Yea, i know. Im waiting until i have 20 activity days to apply.

It means i will get to know the game a lot more, and it's far better.

And i can't see how killer's post is negative

He is just saying That Mur probably doesn't need translators any more, in fact, he is telling me to actually try and apply. I see that as positive :)

Thanks for posting and helping all of you :)!

I can see a lot of people have already offered help to translate the game.
But when i select the spanish version of magicduel... i might be wrong but i dont see to much improvements...(and, hope you dont mind me saying this... there are some gramatical errors...im sorry but its true :) ) if you need more translators im available too.

An example

El Santuario del viento, capital de la Campana de Marind

should be:

El Santuario del viento, Capitolio de Marind Bell

(There is no need to translate the name of the locations like Marind Bell or Lorerrot... only the "fountain" or the "Sanctuary", the "Dock"... etc.)

Saludos,
Tenoch

Aprovechando....

I would like to have a RPC but my english is not quit good... if i try to improve my character could somebody helpme in the edition and gramatics? ^_^

Gracias.

Ya a lots of people offered to translate english to spanish but none of the above are in the translation the team. Most (except phrog that comes in from time to time) in the spanish translation team are inactive, and there might have been someone who used a translator -.-

Off-Topic: That post made me remember my starting days  Why is this even pinned o_o?

Many people can help in translating, the thing is that many of them are not that kind of active in the game. I think being active is an important thing, because how can I really understand what I'm talking about, if I don't have any idea of it?

If anyone needs help with Spanish translations ask me I can help with that.

Spanish spoken players activity is not the problem bfh. I've been here for a while, and ofered help in many ocasions as Tenoch and Kriskah.
It was odd to me at first, but then I asumed is because people has to at least understand a bit of English to interact ingame because online chat, quests, anouncements, etc will remain in English... so what´s the point?. Considering all this, perhaps partial translations wouldn't be so useful after all.
Dont get me wrong, I am just guessing posible reasons for this lack of interest, that's all.

i think the idea is to make it available even to people who don't speak english that well, what with the "translating" potions tests and all :D

You know what could be more helpful then a translation? LHO button displayed in different languages. I told Grido al long time a go about this, perhaps he remembers.
Live help in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, German, etc that would be cool... and also posible

@Totenkopf
It is quite clear to me why translations are useful. Nevertheless since I started MD there has been no translating at all, that is why I respondeded to bfh with some guessings about the reason for this.

the reason that you havent been chosen to translate it into spanish is probably because there is no head of translations like there previously was. Now mur has to give someone the power instead of Neyla organising it.

My suggestion would be for you guys who want to translate spanish form a group. elect a leader and get that person to email mur stating that A) you want to translate into spanish and B) you have X,Y and Z who are willing to help.
