Chewett got a reaction from nadrolski in The mystery of "Chewett and the Green CARD"Chewett had seen enough.
If the depletion of the Realm's resources had been caused by the actions of its people, then perhaps its people could also be persuaded to prevent it. One voice complaining about empty lands could easily be ignored. A collection of voices, however, might become something considerably more troublesome.
So Chewett began to write.
Messages were dispatched across the Realm to old friends, familiar names, trusted figures, and those whose opinions carried weight. Some were asked what they had seen. Others were warned of what he feared was happening. A select few received a more direct question: would they help?
Between letters, Chewett drafted the beginnings of something more permanent. Not merely a complaint, nor another temporary agreement destined to disappear when attention wandered elsewhere, but a coalition whose purpose could be stated plainly.
CARD — the Coalition Against Resource Depletion.
Its cause was simple. The natural resources of MagicDuel belonged to a living Realm, not merely to whoever happened to reach them first. Gathering would always have its place, but endless depletion could not be allowed to leave the land barren for everyone who followed.
Those who joined CARD would be expected to do more than merely lend their names to the cause. Members would cease working with known depleters where they could, watch for the marks they left upon the Realm, record their actions, and make their disapproval known. Where they saw depletion taking place, they would challenge it, chastising those responsible as they saw fit and ensuring such behaviour did not pass unnoticed.
The intention was not simply punishment. It was pressure. If depleting the Realm carried consequences — fewer willing allies, greater scrutiny, and the uncomfortable knowledge that someone was keeping note — then perhaps some would think twice before stripping a location bare.
Whether anyone would actually join CARD remained another matter entirely.
Chewett sealed the final letter, placed it alongside the others, and looked towards the small gathering beginning to form around him.
At least, he thought, he would not have to find out alone.

Chewett reacted to jakubhi in A clash between Green Card and Depleters (1)Today, in the MDA lands, the Green Card has claimed a first minor victory:
[21/08/26 21:25] jakubhi: waves his hand in the air Show yourself, dark demon, you creature if night!
[21/08/26 21:25] Ledah:I am not here

[21/08/26 21:25] jakubhi:oi you cheeky..
[21/08/26 21:25] :jakubhi follows
[21/08/26 21:25] :Ledah sneezes

[21/08/26 21:27] :jakubhi whispers: bargh

[21/08/26 21:27] jakubhi:I have trapped you, foul beast!
[21/08/26 21:28] Ledah:Pft, I can dispel this magic any time.
[21/08/26 21:28] jakubhi:...then I will trap you even more !
[21/08/26 21:28] Ledah:...but what is it you seek?

[21/08/26 21:30] jakubhi:And here, I challenge you, to a duel !
[21/08/26 21:31] Ledah:A duel eh...
[21/08/26 21:31] Ledah:What kind of duel?
[21/08/26 21:39] jakubhi:The first duel is one of Fate
[21/08/26 21:40] Ledah:Fate, eh...
[21/08/26 21:41] Ledah:I trust you have brought the dice, as ordered?
[21/08/26 21:41] jakubhi: looks at Ledah well, it is not like you can get them
[21/08/26 21:41] jakubhi: shows the dice 3 rounds. In each round, each of us throws. The one with the largest number wins the round, the one with most won rounds wins the duel of Fate
[21/08/26 21:42] jakubhi:as this is a pair of dices, we count the sum of both dices
[21/08/26 21:42] Ledah:Agreed. Best of 3 rounds.
[21/08/26 21:43] jakubhi:Should you lose... you will have to not gather any water for a full day!
[21/08/26 21:43] jakubhi:..I will be generous and not count rain..
[21/08/26 21:43] Ledah:Very well.
[21/08/26 21:43] Ledah:When you lose, I will require your gold - the pure kind.
[21/08/26 21:44] jakubhi: grimaces Fine
[21/08/26 21:44] jakubhi:Now, stand prepared demon, for I show you that fate favours me!

[21/08/26 21:46] Ledah:It is time.
[21/08/26 21:46] : Ledah throws 2 dice and gets 6, 5

Chewett got a reaction from nadrolski in Coalition against Resource Depletion (CARD)As per the most recent evidence we have two depleters that CARD will now refuse to trade or work with: https://forum.magicduel.com/topic/29102-known-depeleter-evidence-log-card/
I have personally blocked their chat messages, mood panel, forum pm's, and will refuse to allow them to participate in any events/quests I run.
@death ray please note the depleters above you should not deal with.

Chewett got a reaction from nadrolski in CARD resource gathering amountsYou should stop gathering resources if the resources have 2/3rd left or less. Here is a helpful table to remember when to stop:
1/1 - always free to gather
1/2
2/3 or 1/3 - both will regenerate one per day but leaving it at 2/3 is safer
8 / 13
10 / 16

Chewett got a reaction from nadrolski in The mystery of "Chewett and the Green CARD"Chewett slumbered.
For how long, none could truly say. In dreams he wandered through the cast shadows of worlds past: places long changed, voices long quiet, and memories of a MagicDuel that existed now only in fragments. The old Realm moved around him like smoke, familiar yet unreachable, until at last the dream began to thin.
When Chewett awoke, it was to a new MagicDuel.
The air itself felt different. There was magic in it again - not the tired echo of what had once been, but something renewed and restless. The world had evolved while he slept. Strange possibilities seemed to gather at the edges of perception, and everywhere there was the sense that the Realm was once more capable of becoming something greater than it had been before.
And yet, as he looked out across the land, that feeling of abundance was betrayed by what lay before him.
The world seemed emptier.
Places once rich with the natural bounty of the Realm stood strangely bare. Resources that had once been found in plenty were sparse, exhausted, or absent altogether. Chewett walked farther, expecting the familiar signs of plenty to return, but the pattern only became clearer.
This was no natural drought.
While he had slumbered, the people of the Realm had been gathering. Harvesting. Taking. Some carefully, some greedily, and some seemingly without thought for what might remain for those who followed.
The magic of MagicDuel had renewed itself.
But its resources had not.
Chewett stood among the barren ground and surveyed what remained.
Something, he decided, would have to be done.

Chewett got a reaction from nadrolski in The mystery of "Chewett and the Green CARD"Ladies and gentlemen, adventurers and wanderers of the Realm, open up the latest edition of the MagicDuel Newspaper and read into a story of intrigue.
For the next several days, we shall be bringing you a most extraordinary tale of intrigue, conspiracy, dwindling resources, unlikely alliances, and perhaps even the occasional entirely reasonable overreaction.
A mystery whose roots reach deep into the very resources of MagicDuel.
A mystery known only as...
Our story follows Chewett, Grand Duke of the East, investigating the curious disappearance of the Realm's resources as they begin to uncover something far larger.
Who is taking them?
Why are they disappearing?
Can anything be done before the lands of the Realm are tarnished forever?
And, most importantly...
Can the green CARD stop the forces of evil terrorising the land?
With allies gathered, suspects questioned, evidence examined, and increasingly suspicious quantities of paperwork produced, Chewett sets about forming a coalition dedicated to confronting the spectre of resource depletion.
But in MagicDuel, matters are rarely quite as simple as they first appear.
Presented in the grand tradition of the old wireless detective mysteries, Chewett and the Green CARD will unfold as a serial drama, with a new instalment released each day (depending on Chewett's work schedule).
Each episode will reveal another piece of the mystery.
Another clue.
Another suspect.
Another step towards the truth.
So adjust your wireless set, extinguish the lights, settle into your favourite chair, and listen carefully.
For somewhere in the darkness of the Realm...
the game is already afoot.

Chewett got a reaction from nadrolski in Coalition against Resource Depletion (CARD)Generally people have asked me how we can stop resource depletion. I propose a simple group that aims to stop depletion by collectively not depleting and punishing those who deplete.
If you join CARD
You will not intentionally deplete resources and will be careful to ensure this doesn't happen
You will not trade with or help those marked as depleters (information below)
You will not let depleters participate in any events you run, nor you participate in theirs
Help includes things like using positive spells on them, giving them wins (if they request), etc
You can use spells, silence, heat capping, or anything you see fit to punish depleters
You can block heat cappers messages in forum, discord, in game as you seek fit
Trade includes auctions
You will report depletion if you see it in the marked thread (here or somewhere else)
You will receive a share of the coins from depleters who pay to expunge their crimes
CARD will (with the community)
Track depleters on a public thread. each depletion causes 1 mark against their record
Proof should be in the form of screenshots with the amount of resources in the scene clearly visible
1 mark can be removed with the payment (1 gold for people under 100 days, 5 gold for people under 1000 days, 10 gold for players older than 1000 days)
Marks will be removed after the period of 3 months
Anyone reaching 5 marks will be marked as depleters and banned as above
Current Members:

Nadrolski

Current Depleters:
Seigheart - 25 marks
Ledah - 23 marks
Notes:
I will start tracking marks in 1 weeks time for those who have not read read this post
Resources that must be depleted to be gathered (memory stones, fenths) are allowed to be depleted
Some leniency is given for when a tool gathers more than expected, please post below on a mark if you wish to appeal

Chewett got a reaction from Sunfire in The mystery of "Chewett and the Green CARD" -
Dear All,
The last few days have been eventful, especially when it comes to resources.
We have seen a few people show extraordinary activity and progress when it comes to resource harvesting, or, better, stripping the lands till nothing remains.
There have been discussions, arguments and counter-arguments, mostly leading to nothing and the resources continuing to be depleted.
Then, with the creation of CARD, a solution has been proposed that will have an impact on the overly enthusiastic harvesters.
Is the CARD a perfect solution? No. Is it the one we deserve? Maybe.
There is no problem with resources themselves. They are infinitely regenerating, without the risk of becoming dry.
And yet, we have managed to make an issue out of endlessly flowing gift.
There are some depleters who ransack for fun, and are waiting for chaos to begin, for someone to challenge them. They shall have their excitement, the thrill, the challenge. Cheers.
But there are also people who come in, grab everything without care, and hide behind false ideals and masks. You ate the basket full of sweets, selfishly and without patience, and now that a RESPONSE to your actions has come, you dare call it aggression? Dare you to claim a right to freedom of your rights, when you take it from others ? Do not even mention any justice, for you are only sharing threats to only worsen your actions. In your foolishness, you sink everyone. The only amusing thing is, you are sinking yourself too. And as such, your loss is inevitable, for you are getting consequences from not one, but two sides, the rest of the people and what you yourself have caused to the land.
I have observed enough.
I will abide by the CARDS rules, as they currently are, although I won't be blocking the communication.
For the listeners, who have not yet decided, a reminder. You have already been dragged into this, without asking for it. And it was not the CARD that has dragged you into this conflict.
