Each to his tastes, as far as I've noticed Heroes3 has the highest cult level, but the fact that you can use heroes as units in Heroes4 while having various options for leveling skills, makes it the top spot for me.

H4 has the smoothest gameplay, it's also the first game of the series that was popularized. It's quite easy to play, self explanatory, interface is quite friendly, gameplay is smooth and fast. So many ways to play it in multiplayer.

 

The fact that you can use heroes as units is one of reason why it's so broken in first place.

 

Anyways, the most annoying part in the series is when enemy has backdoor to your starting area (one way portal), it's so annoying and it happens in like every scenario. If there are no backdoors.... well that just means that enemy has access to your lands through border gates for which you don't have keymaster's access OR there are multiple jump portals, with 3 or more exits, really fun... >_>

I played the Dark Souls games and I found some similarities so far.

 

Heat Jar - Estus Flask (That's why my character takes a few with him when he visits GG. Always having the Estus flask at hand is kind of a fixation after those games :)) )
