  1. You know, I think the general description of roleplaying has been tilted. Role-playing means playing a role. You see, you don't have to pretend you are someone else all the time, you just do what you play yourself as. Even someone who doesn't have a story background can still play a role, let's take for example.. Akasha. She didn't have any stories made up on her papers, and yet, she still goes on an adventure much bigger than most of us have, on the Role of a PRinciple Researcher. I don't think playing a role requires you to pretend you are someone else: it only requires you to decide what you want to play as, and that can always be your normal self! So, I do support RP points, but I don't support if the point is given only for whole days of drama.

  2. Whew.. it seems that Lady chance has given me another piece of information... ~_~
Well, I'll look forward to what happens in the future.. I know a bit about Ctulthu myth myself, and I was hoping that MD, with its very unique and uncommon background, does not incorporate legends from our own world, but rather a completely distinct one. Well, I guess I'll just see what happens next..

  3. HMmm, what Tremir says reminds me.. when the fest begun and phrog woke up for a while, he went to Golemus and said that "it" would be his eventually. I followed him around during his stay in golemus, but I don't reacall him going to mt. kelletha.. I don't know if this has any meaning, but the place where phrog said that "it" would be his eventually is, if memory serves, the pillars of harmony..

  4. It indeed was a very exciting experience. I logged in at 22 pm and slept at 3 am in the morning so I could participate in this (and it is Monday today >.< I was nearly unable to wake up this morning).
Well, I guess I will share some stories here too, what I experience on the largest event on MD I've met since I joined.

I first stumbled upon this story when I learned about boxes that could store souls on my conversation with Ledah and Morrel. A few days later, I came upon pieces of information that says that Khal too is looking for a box like that. After more pieces of info came in, i learned that it was HIS box(as we can only store our souls on our own box), which was apparently missing. By pure luck, I stumbled upon someone I befriended, and he told me that they are guarding the box. At the time, we all thought that Khal needed it to seal his soul so he could transplant it to another body when his dying body dies. I respected what my friend would do, but I had no personal quarrel with Khal, so I left it at that.

Days later, someone contacted me on something interesting(which we later found out to be nothing), and I decided to ask Calyx about it. There, I learned that there is something going on involving SageWoman. The conversation branched into something else for a few days (mostly due to my fault >.<). When the conversation ended a few days later, I went to Wind's Sanctuary to refresh a bit from my research in Golemus. Just then, Sage entered, panic, as if something terrible has just happened. With several others there (let's see, there was Storm, Linard, Ailith..ahh I can't remember all of them), we tried to calm her down. (PS: we agreed not to tell Windy who broke her plates and glasses). As she slowly calmed, she told us about a conspiracy by the Necrovion Sentinels to capture her, and just moments later, she started giving out her prophecy.

Through her prophecy, I learned of Khal's split into White and Black, and that the reason Khal sought for his box is actually because it was holding White. WHen we were still surprised, Khalazdad the White showed up and asked everyone there to help bring the box, so he can reunite with Black. White said that he can only show up when Khal is asleep, and that Khal knows everything he knows (for those of you who wonders what Khal's dreams on the AL meant, it was probably what White experiences when White comes out during Black's sleep).

Knowing who held the box and what the box means for the future, I consulted Calyx on whether it was true and Sage was not under some kind of mind control. Calyx told me that I should help Sage, and thus, I decided to contact Sage and see if she needed my help. Later on I found out that my messenger got lost amongst the large number of messengers arriving to her.

Not receiving any word from her, I decided to wait and see how things would go. On my travels, I overheard some Sentinels talking about luring Sage/White to the House of Liquid Dust so they could kill White. Hearing this, I immediately set out to find Sage, but I could not find her. Later on, I met Zleiphnier, her love, and asked him to deliver my warnings to her. Calyx also told me that she had guessed who held the Box, but the person denies that he holds it, and says that he has given the box to others for safekeeping. Since the person that she named was the one that my friend told me as the holder, I contacted him as soon as possible. Since the matter seemed a bit private, all I did was tell him about what is going on and ask him to forward it to the current holder of the box, if he knew who it was now. But my friend replied that he has already known the situation, and that in a few days I will know why. I sensed that he might have something planned, and I decided to put my faith in it.

After that, things cooled down again. I decided to continue my research on Golem's Mill in Golemus. Just as I woke up from my meditation to take my daily notes on the water level in Golemus, my alliance messenger arrived and told me about that the War is going to break soon. I ran as fast as I can to the Aramory to help my brothers and sisters there. Just then, a messenger arrived from Sage. Apparently, the messenger I sent to her that few days ago has reached her, and she contacted me immediately. I told her about the incoming War, and that my brothers and sisters felt that it would be best if she stays in Golemus, away from harm. She came immediately to the Aramory, and after some hesitation (valkyrie spirit, u know..), and a sacred ceremony performed with Calyx and xcerses, she finally agreed to go to Golemus with Jonn's help. And now that she's safe, it is our turn to our part; the War.

Many have assembled on the Aramory to help our cause, and everyone awaits anxiously to the time when the battle begins. However, it appears that the battle was yet to commence. I headed to the House of Liquid Dust, and it turns out that Khal is giving his last words of wisdom. Here, I saw the wisdom of Khal, and realized that even as Black, he is a great man. If Grey returns, it would be a great thing. After a while, Ren arrived with Yami. He told us that the time has come, and finally the War broke out. It was chaotic, with some people silencing everyone there (VERY annoying). When the commotion finally calmed down, it appears that the Sentinel's forces has suffered a greater loss. Khal was wounded, and said that even though the war has come, the Fated One has not yet arrived (Sage). He said that he would come to die in the HOuse that made him, annd entered the House of Liquid Dust. I was not sure what is happening for a moment, but when I finally realize that Black is dead in the House of Liquid Dust, I sent word immediately to Calyx.

Despite our army's victory, one thing went wrong from the plan : the one holding the box never showed up. We were facing a possible fact that Khal will die, and never return to Grey. Suddenly, White showed up. All hope is not lost! But what can we do now that the box is not here? However, I decided to send a messenger again to Calyx and Sage. They did not give up hope, and as soon as they arrived from Golemus to the site , Sage immediately began asking Black to reunite with White. With many others, we tried the best we could to help convince Black. Finally, Black asked for a sacrifice : if Sage is to die in the House of Liquid Dust, he will reunite with White. We all looked at each other as Sage accepted Black's request. We knew what was going to happen, but this has always been her call. We can only stay and watch. The next thing, the sacrifice was done, and Black and White reunited. Grey walked out of the door, but the cheer of seeing his return is quickly taken over with a feeling of sadness, as we see Sage's body lying on the ground.

She was dead, and all was sad. Fortunately, the ritual that Calyx had done with her and X earlier seems to have protected her spirit, along with the magic of 'sacrifice of the pure-hearted' ( I forgot who noted this). Khal too said that she should not die, and suddenly, her body starts to shake and things, and her soul came back to her body. SageWoman is alive once again.

With Grey's return and Sage being safe, we feel that things had gone for the best that could happen. Everyone celebrates in the aftermath of the event, and the Path of Loneliness and Wind's Sanctuary was filled with people celebrating.

With things finally coming to the happy ending, I decided that it is time for me to rest. The battle has taken my stamina, and the clock was showing 3 o'clock in the morning. I need to sleep, I have to wake up at 7.30....

Today, one day after the events ended, I came upon a chance to share these stories for everyone who wants to know what had happened. I hope you all enjoyed reading it.

    Regards,
    Udgard

  5. It might have been Khal, as I once heard him saying to Phrog "u owe me your transformation" or something... Well, with Khal now Grey again, maybe he'll help Phroggie..'

Oh, talking about reversing things, here's one of my favorite MD principle use (actually, this is one of the reasons I chose my principles).

Principle of Cyclicity : everything happens in a cycle
Principle of elements : let's divide a cycle to its composing elements, which is the beginning (or cause) and the end (or effect).
Principle of Transposition : transpose the characteristics of beginning to the end, and the end to the beginning.
And... done. You've reversed the cycle =b

  6. Well, I guess I'll suggest that you guys not give up hope, if you really want to make this happen. Manu does not implement alliances because someone asks for it, he does that to incorporate real events that happen in the game. If you can create a strong story background for it and do it consistently, it might (mind you, 'might') get integrated in the game. So, if u guys really are die hard berserkers, go and prove it to the community=b

  7. Well, here goes the last day... Time to hope that Mur would check out my papers lol
I know that how rewards are decided will not be explained now, but it would really be great to know that. I am really getting trouble improving my papers, because more and more parts of the role I chose has been given to other PWRs, and since I've done my role for more than 2 months, it's kinda already integrated to how I've been playing and it's not easy to do major change to it (I finally did a revamp, but the essence is still similar). Oh well, better luck next time, me =)

But seriously, the festival has been a very fun event. I got to see a lot of new interesting roles integrated in the game, and even get to see Golemus (I'm still not leaving until the last day! research, research...=B). One thing has kinda bothered me though, which is the huge amount of new quests that recently spawns with the MD quest contest. It kinda makes quests kinda lose its feeling of a quite big game event everytime an RPC releases a new quest, and turn into something you can see on anyone's papers. But well, I guess that might change once the quest contest ends.

Well, that's just some rambling of mine.. I really look forward to seing the next festival.

  8. What bothers me the most about the clouds is... I cannot move a message out of a certain cloud. When I chose them and moved them to a new cloud, they simply copy it, leaving me with two messages on different clouds. THe worst part is, they are not actually separate, and when I delete one of them, the other disappears too..

  9. (more will be coming soon when I gain info on more of my research topics)

I am Udgard, a spirit bound to the world of MagicDuel, who chose to walk the path of knowledge.

I am a Seeker of Knowledge, and during my quest to satisfy my thirst for knowledge, I fell in love with the Land of Nature, Loreroot. My stay in Loreroot has made me realize that this world, this Realm we are in, is one full of mysteries, where the nature of everything inside it is unique, and most of the time, unchartered. I have chosen to dedicate my researches to understand more about the Nature of this Realm, learn their secrets through the History of its Creation, and ultimately, learn more of myself, which is also a part of this Realm.

Below, is the log of my journeys, where I have travelled, what I have researched, and what I have found in this unique and amazing Lands.

    *The Golem of Principles*

When I first woke up in this world, I learned about the Principles that govern this world. After some study, a theory came into my mind, about a source of infinite energy that is theoretically possible using the Principles of this strange new world. This infinite source of energy opens up numerous possibilities, and I imagine that if a spell or an artificial construct can be powered using this energy source, the results would be incredible. So, I roamed the Land again, honing my understanding of the Principles, in hope of creating the Spell and the Artificial Construct. During my travels, I met two beings of great wisdom, Meiche, a Seeker of Enlightenment, and Ren, the Head Archivist. We got involved on a conversation about a Golem, an Artificial Construct made by Men. I spoke to them about my energy source theory, and they told me many, many things about the techniques of creating a Golem. They taught me many things that I couldn't possibly think of alone, and together, we built the theory for creating the Golem, using the Principles of this Realm. Now, me and Meiche, with three Summoners from the Artisan's Guild, is giving the Golem form, and soon, it will be alive...

    *Research on Golem's Mill*

In order to find ways to improve the Golem of Principles, I have been conducting research on the Golem's Mill at Golemus Golemicarum. The mill exhibits a quality similar to our Golem; it could move by its own, without being controlled by anyone. If my research goes well, the principles of the Mill's operations could be used to improve the Golem of Principles.

*Search for Signs of the Moon*

The Children of the Eclipse, my fellow Lorerootian inhabitants, is researching for proof of the existence of the Moon and the True Night. To help with their research, I am doing observations on the water level of the sea of Golemus, namely on the Golem's Mill and the Ivory Lighthouse. So far, there hasn't been any notable movement on the sea level, but one thing I have learned about this Realm, is that Nature is unpredictable.

    *The Land Defence Weapons*

Apparently, during the wars that happened on this Lands long ago, Weapons of great power was created to defend every Land from its enemies. One Weapon exist on every Land, namely Golemus Golemicarum, Loreroot, Marind's Bell, Necrovion, and No Man's Land. So far, I have only known two of these weapons; the Kelle'tha Cannon on Golemus, and another one at Loreroot. The weapon on No Man's Land is said to be destroyed during the Old War, and the Archives seem to have no such Weapons.

    *The Power of Wish*

This Realm seems to be shaped, and probably was created, by the power of Will. During my travels, I found out about a certain object that exhibits how the power of Will shapes this Realm. This object is called a WishPoint. Like the Magical Scroll, it has no physical form, but it exists and follows its owner wherever s/he goes. This WishPoint seems represent a strong power of will, and can be used to power certain Powerful Spells, and can even be converted into matter.

    *Spells*

Those with crafty minds has found that they can use the Magical Powers of this Realm to cast certain spells. These spells seem to be unlocked to those whose Mind has reached a certain level of Power, or to those whose mind is so unique that they stand out from others. There also appears to exist an even more powerful Spell, called the Inner Magic Spell, that requires a very strong power of will and great understanding of the Principles of this Realm to cast.

    *Spirit Realm*

One thing everyone notices when they come to this world, is that physical combat doesn't seem to hold the power to kill others. However, Death is apparently possible if the WillPower of those who combat are so strong that their attacks turned into lethal. However, it appears that even if we die, our spirit still remains in this world. I can tell this for sure, as I have died and became a spirit. Luckily, somehow, I came back to life, I presume that it is thanks to Mur, the Demi-God. When I looked back at past events, I found out that this has happened before. Alche turned into a spirit before he regained a corporeal form on Mt' Kelle'tha. I also met Phrog today, and he is roaming the Land in spirit form.. Come to think of it, Marind is also a spirit. Spirits are said to gather on the Gazeebo of Chaos underground of Marind Bell. I will need to do more research there to find outmore of these spirits..

  10. Well, regarding the alliance formation, it could be a reaction to what Wodin did at the time; gathering armies to destroy the shades. Khal turned to Black after an argument with Wodin, and maybe Wodin's will to destroy the shades reached its peak at the time with Khal asking him to have peace with the Shades. As the strongest light, this might have been what affected the shades.. Well, just another theory too =)

  11. Nah this'll be full of friends and adepts. Or found out spies. Ud don't complain I'd invite you ^^ Yes I AM a good master thanks dst :D

Thanks for the invitation, Ledah, but Loreroot is my home^^. I think I'll stay there and hope that your plan doesn't reach Loreroot >.<

Awww, don't go for Loreroot! Go for anything else but my home! >.<

  12. Considering you had 4 aces for each card, maybe 16 would be a good idea too, 9 for 2-9, 1 jack, queen, and king, and 4 aces. Or maybe an extra 2 joker slots =)

But Ledah... if they enter the puppet alliance, people would know they're your puppets... REmember your secret plan?
