Does anyone care to tell me whether or not the diamond that appears to veteran's profiles ends on a different color for a reason?

What is that diamond thing that appears when I click certain people's profiles? I hear it means that the person has been around for a year or more, but I noticed it stops on different colors. Is that supposed to mean something or not? Useless topic, don't you think? It's such a trivial matter, but I still want to know. And I'm going to use this for a quest of mine, so call it a multi-purpose thing.

Hmm... I hope it isn't too long until this is finished. I, not to mention hundreds of others, might explode of boredom. By the way, thanks for letting me become an author in MDA. I'm working on an MDA Article while I'm waiting.
