1. didn't quite get it..sorry for being dense, Tom, but care to explain?

edit:

ahahaha...ang dating daan..classic!!!!!! lol well i did say evagelic, didn't I? lol

what better place to spam?, this is the offtopic section after all..lol XD

2. I very much agree. We, all of us, should do our part in spreading the "good news" (sounds a bit evangelic to me lol).

So in line with this, I would like to ask those who care enough to visit this link and write a review:
http://www.gameogre.com/reviewdirectory/reviews/MagicDuel.php

It may not be much but I think it's a small step in attracting more people and making MD known in the gaming community. (that site has awfully large audience, imo)

Now, I know we all love MD so when you do write a review try really hard to be objective :D

Also, should you have ideas on how to bring new and more people to MD you may want to post 'em here:
http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/topic/4838-bringing-and-keeping-new-players/

Regards,
BS/SR

3. Im quite hessitant to post because first Im not old enough in MD (only 100 some days) and secondly I still have not figure out a lot of things so I'm no expert..but I'd like to share my thoughts on the matter, anyway because I think this is an important issue that needs to be addressed.

I understand what you are saying, I think, because I have felt the same way back when I was starting out (and there are days still that i get those feelings) but I think MD would be less enjoyable for me it it wasnt so complicated and difficult. It's the complexity and my desire to understand things that drives me to continually log in and try to find answers.

In a way MD is, yes, exclusive, for only people who passed through the "filters" get to stay and reach mp5. I think MD was not meant to be easy. It was not meant to be played alone like other games. This game requires you to not only use your intellectual prowess but your social skills as well. Personally, I believe that Md is not so difficult as it seems because it has a very good support system..a very good community (there are just so many people willing to help).

Friends can help you get through a lot of things, be in in RL or online.

As Awiiya said "If you want or need MD to ever be friendlier, drop me a line, and I'll see what I can do." :P

4. I think the 1 credit monthly fee is ok if it will only last for a specific amount of time, somewhat like paying up in installments or loan or a mortgage, otherwise that monthly fee would be really troublesome (as has been said/implied from all the previous posts, not everyone has the money or the luxury of time)

Also, it would be a good idea that the number of inactive days before the avatar gets taken back by the shop would be somewhat equal to the numebr of months you have paid that 1 credit, i.e let's say you are to pay 3 consecutive months for the avatar then you have 3 months worth of inactivity before it get's taken back by the bank..err shop.

5. *nods in agreement with Chewett*

Unfair indeed and personally I find it somewhat like cheating or being cheated. When one does a quest and solves it, one expects a reward associated with it simply because it was stated so in the first place. Why would anyone do anyone's quest if not for the rewards and the recognition that one has accomplished them?

Perhaps there should be a rule to rpc's and quest-makers regarding the issuance of rewards and proper decorum? I dont understand why there isnt one to begin with?

Or perhaps, give prior notice to people that if one has personal issues with someone then that someone is not entittled to one's quest and rewards. I think this is a decent and honest way so people dont waste their time and energy.

Give credit when and where credit is due.

7. Unholy Priest?

7. It is not my place to defend why I first the contest because it was not I who said it to be so and yet perhaps pride of one's work compels me to say something in this regard.

When I put that line it was my intent to make it sound or look funny for those who know who He-man is. That scene was to show how Berek the Cattleherd is gullible and Shull witty, manipulative and narcissistic. The only reason Shull transformed Berek is because Shull doesnt want a normal looking fella for a bearer (who would if you think you are a thing of perfection? right?). Shull need no power words to transform Berek and Berek's transformation is permanent unlike He-man's. This is my fault for the lack of elaborate explanation in that story (though it was my intent originally to reveal this information to subsequent story)

The idea behind the character is for sure not original, as it was pointed already. BrightShield was inspried from a lot of things - He-man yes, and Marvel's Thor, Chronicles of Thomas Covenant (for the names) and PSONE's Tales of Destiny (mostly by this) but the story is original, imo.

I apologize if this has caused any trouble for any one and also, I am new in roleplaying please bear with my mistakes and please do point them out so I may learn from them.

Sorry it took this long and thank you.

8.
Hmmm..I heard of this, but I don't know who the new one is.Also can't find anything new about it :P
Brandon Sanderson, author of the Mistborn series, was asked to finish the last book of the Wheel of Time. (dunno how good he is tho, never read any of his work)

Anyhow, I posted just so The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen Donaldson [needless to say, my fave fantasy book of all time] be seen and hopefully be read by those interested. :)

9. I'd like to join too but using my alt account, SoulRider.

I'm relatively new to MD..been here for only 2 mos... :)

but i guess it would defeat the purpose of the contest,,, :)

10. A Dreamer's Dream

Dreams comfort me, I pray
as I succumb to the night and lay
"Leave your worries, doubt and fear
(and) Enter the Sandman's Domain."

Dreams show me I say
worlds of fantasy and play.
Reveal to me my heart's desire
let it burn with passion and fire.

Oh Dreams grant me the key
with wistful yearning I plea.
Unlock the secret chambers of my soul
solve the puzzle and make me whole.

My first petty attempt for a poem the rhymes. Written the morning after a beautiful and peaceful dream.
This is a two part poem. See below for the next part.

Sandman's Riposte

Dreams you seek and implore
they obey me at my call
for I am the Dream's Mastermaker
Ruler of All.

To beseech the Dreams I create
thou summon me to thy aid?
No mortal whim has ever been made
to make the Lord of Sleep a slave!

What you seek can't be found
in this Kingdom I command
Open your eyes, foolish one.
Now I bid you, begone!

When I created Dreamer's Dream and Sandman's Riposte, it was originally one whole poem [a convo between the Dreamer and Sandman] wherein for every Dreamer's stanza is the response of the Sandman.

***my first post! yay! hope someone likes it***
