1. Treasure-Hunting

UPDATED!

This is the third in my series of Pirate quests.

This time you will face a typical pirate mission - earn fame by claiming a huge treasure.

To do this you will face three tasks:

- First, you will have to get a treasure map.
A warmup task: My stupid parrot tried to "read" my treasure map. Look what he did: stupidparrot
(passcode: "stupidparrot"). Help me fix this and PM the solution to Mighty Pirate (somewhere in No Mans Land, or forum PMs)

- Second, you will have to steal the treasure.
This will be the harder part, my answer to Broken Pattern Riddle combined with an Indiana Jones-like scenery :P

- Third, you will have to fight the guards.
Bad language is explicitly allowed for this part of the quest. This part will probably take more than a week to be solved, so be patient.

Wishpoints for the winners (thanks to Yrthilian). More details to come. Quest started June 28th.

(open to all mind powers, no special requirements - apart from the ability to move, sorry Awiiya ;)

Have fun, :P

And as far as transferring between accounts, I recall Mur stated it was okay (but frowned upon) ONLY if the items where not gained for free. Hence Ledah's imprisonment for abusing the "free credits on signup" deal while certain items early in the permanent boosters branch gave coins (ie, since the credits where a gift, the coins counted as "free" and hence not permissible for transfer, unlike coins obtained later in the shop which require some kind of effort, either through voting, questing, trading, or cash to obtain)

3. BFH, why did you make this a closed group quest?

Now it appears a bit strange that you choose the participants on your own based on undisclosed criteria and all get a (quite big) reward. I would expect that others could have provided valuable input as well.

(No allegation, but I don't understand why you did this 'quest'.)

4. I noticed several times that it was possible to attack in a lower time frame than the normal ones, e.g. attacking the same player twice within 3 minutes. I can reproduce this and think this is a bug.

I can give more details if needed. Of course I will not give more details here :P

[2010-11-24 14:15:09 - Stage 10]
Attack times reduced
: - Against alliance from 25 to 12 min
- Against NPC from 4 to 2 min
- Against non ally players from 8 to 4 min

5. Every evening I tell my kids a bedtime story. Sometimes they are inspired by MagicDuel. Once I told a story of a bird egg which became a powerful bird or the story of a pirate arriving at an island where drachorns live.

Any ideas for nice MD-related bedtime stories can be posted here. Please share your ideas, you will make many kids happy.

Actually for wrong pass it'll say verify invalid pass, so if the message is verify invalid account then the problem is probably the wrong username one :)
No, I checked that.

My profile page is also invalid: http://magicduel.com/players/Mighty_Pirate
??

And if I got banned - why on earth?

Now there are a couple things to keep in mind. One of the main parts of the tombola is anybody can participate with any amount of payment. Meaning a person who can only afford to give up 10 dollars has a chance as well as the person willing to part with 100 dollars. There has to be an incentive to pay maybe a little more as that's one of the key roles of the tombola. Pay server costs and advertising bills. There also has to be a reason for people who are not top payees to show up. I think that's all of them.
My idea would be to give out just one ticket per paying player (regardless of amount). I guess more players will take part if they know that the chances to win are equal. I also guess that the additional money which comes in just because of the tombola might be even higher.

The reason that I post this instead of leaving it just up to mur is because of two reasons the first being that mur cant account for every little tiny possible loop hole. Nobody really can or has the time. The second one being is mur is also trying to insure fairness during the tombola that's why he brakes up the payment by methods and once again he cant account for every little detail and no one person can.
I never understood why fairness is ensured by braking up tombolas by payment methods. You could also break up the tombola by first letters of players (say first tombola a-n, second tombola m-z). What I would like to see is one (well many ;) tombola for all payment methods even if it requires more preparation.

However, its the fun that counts, isn't it? As long as the tombola attracts many players every solution is good. :)

I would disagree that 1453 it the end of the Middle Ages since the Renaissance started mid-1300s in Florence, or very early 1400s if you want to count when the printing press was invented as being the start.

Unless, of course, you are referring to 1453 as being the year that the Byzantium Empire ended when Constantinople fell.
Yes, it refers to the end of Byzantine Empire. I was just referring to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1453 where you can find more details.

Obviously, what worked for group 2 would never have worked for group one and vice versa. Voting (and plotting and backstabbing) makes a lot of sense in a group larger than two people. It also makes sense to me that if everybody votes for themselves, you don't get anywhere. Thus it is logical to demand nobody votes for himself. A question remains whether this was explicitly demanded, or most people assumed it to be the case? Did anyone vote for himself regardless or vote blanc? With little information, we make up rules for ourselves. In the past Manu has rewarded selfless behaviour some times (that I am aware of). All of these ideas could have contributed to people not voting for themselves... I'd hope that it was agreed upon instead of Makain winning by accident, but then again winning a WP by pure luck has happened before and there was a higher prerequisite for this quest. And I'm personally very much against bribing for WPs anyways. That would go against my rules.
Yes, that's what I thought as well. To me it looked like you don't want to decide which question you liked most and you wanted our majority vote within the large group. Within our group it was just this game: If everybody votes for himself - nobody will get anything. So, we tried a selfless approach (not really selfless, we all had chances to win.) And as for the price: We all liked all other questions and agreed that they are worth a WP.
