I have been planning a new festival for some time, realized I was busy with all kinds of stuff and sadly then decided to postpone the festival to start on the 13th of August. (Because, I am really, really, busy .) Anyway, I decided to allow for this time to let people give feedback to the festival as a whole, to let them nominate new legends (and start a flame war about why my subjective criteria are not good), and give suggestions for improvement, or even give ideas for new quests or rewards for these quests (or the trivia contest), if they so want to. Metal Bunny Posted August 12, 2012 Author Report Share Posted August 12, 2012 Wow, great response so far. But I won't be deterred, it's about tradition anyway. On the 13th I will start at 22:00 server time. As for the fighting, I won't do that, but I will still do the trivia contest. I think I have to contact the treasure keepers to ask for some kind of sponsorship, since last years it was done by Mur voluntarily. As for the Trivia, if you were wondering, it will at least be WP's, angiens, imps, and maybe (not sure on this one), Drachs. The way trivia will be run, will be same as last year, same for the stories and same for the legends. So, do consider Rhaegar as well, not just all of MD's humanity Or perhaps a compromise. (Just came back from a 2-month long out-of-the-country trip involving family and debating). I'll start on the 20th of August and it'll last that week. Oh and I messed up with the time. I was thinking that server time was -1 for me, when it is +1, so I'll start on 0:00 server time (so from 13 of Aug, to 14 of Aug, not 12 to 13). I might not be on during those days (Exams at univ) But will try to login at least to pick logs and help with what I can.and yes as Chew mentioned Seig needs to be contacted for prizes. Anyway, It'll start today and the stories will last for 5 days. (unless a war breaks out, right now). Trivia is on day 6, which is saturday, the 25th. However, because the trivia takes a really long time, instead of 24:00 server time, it will probably start like 3 hours earlier, right after most people's dinner. As for rewards, anything is fine, really. The rewards will be handed out to winners, but also people who make it to the octo finals, quarter finals and semi finals of the trivia. And I'll contact seigheart . Also, please post some people you think should be considered as legends. Because my source material is scarce due to busy times outside of MD. [23/08/12 00:05] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]But it did nothing to distract from the fact that war would soon come again. [23/08/12 00:05] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Liberty officially declared war on the Necrovion Sentinels and the combined forces of the Knights of the Bell and Guerilla Golemicarum invaded the lands of Necrovion. [23/08/12 00:06] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]The reasoning of both Liberty and Yrthilian was that they wanted to ensure peace in the realm of MD. [23/08/12 00:06] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]And much like the previous war, they had thus pre-emptively struck out at their enemy. [23/08/12 00:06] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]They saw it as their task to defend the weaker lands and alliances, and decided to make themselves the enemy of Necrovion. [23/08/12 00:06] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]They were swift in making a foothold and were quick to capture Prince Marvolo, even though he was not part of the military alliance. [23/08/12 00:06] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Prince Marvolo was soon after released as the intent was to remove the war-like spirit of Necrovion, not harm the citizens. [23/08/12 00:06] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]But not everyone agreed with their reasoning. [23/08/12 00:07] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Most Lorerootians, almost done with rebuilding from the ashes of the last war against Golemus, saw in Yrthilian a warlike leader and was for some, the primary target for vengeance. [23/08/12 00:07] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Jester agreed, stating that Yrthilian was once again trying to replace a leader he didn’t like, as he did with Raven. [23/08/12 00:07] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Sic semper tyrannis! [23/08/12 00:07] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Thus always to tyrants, were the words that were uttered and it was the embodiment of the public opinion that was turning against King Yrthilian and Liberty. [23/08/12 00:07] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]After the war it was revealed that Yrthilian had heard from the winds of rumor and from his spies that Jester’s war policy had Loreroot in mind as his primary target. [23/08/12 00:08] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Yrthilian, perhaps repentant from the previous war, had wished to defend Loreroot, as he was partially responsible for sending Loreroot into the lowest it had ever been. [23/08/12 00:08] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]The public opinion during the war however, had turned so badly against Yrthilian and Liberty, that a Lorerootian alliance, the Children of the Eclipse, [23/08/12 00:08] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]had joined the war with Necrovion, against GG and the Knights of the Bell. [23/08/12 00:08] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]The Savelite Church, sheltering Marvolo, had also send reinforcements to Necrovion for the war effort, in the form of strong soldiers, their bloodlust fueled by vengeance. [23/08/12 00:08] [b]:[/b][color="#305681"][i]Phantom Orchid silently cheers[/i][/color] [23/08/12 00:08] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Peace, sister of Marvolo and daughter of King Khalazdad, through secretive espionage missions, had gained control over the GG alliance. [23/08/12 00:09] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]It was seen as a small victory, but it did nothing to deter the warriors of the GG alliance to join the Knights of the Bell. But with the takeover another incident had taken place. [23/08/12 00:09] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Wodin, long gone from his former glory, was now a summoned puppet, bound not to Yrthilian, but to the Alliance. [23/08/12 00:09] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Peace took control of Wodin and used him and his resources to help the Necrovion war effort. Peace would give back the alliance and Wodin to Yrthilian, if her demands were met. [23/08/12 00:09] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Yrthilian refused and it was obvious the war would have to be decided on the battlefield. [23/08/12 00:09] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]The leaders of the warring alliances however, were more courteous to each other than in the 2nd war. [23/08/12 00:09] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]They had agreed to meet each other on the battlefield in Necrovion, with set a date and set rules. [23/08/12 00:09] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Strong fighters and young fighters all gathered and setup camp near the battlefield. [23/08/12 00:10] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Tactics and strategy was discussed and soon the hour was at hand. [23/08/12 00:10] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]The Necrovions and CotE warriors were stationed at the Deathmarrow, while the KotB soldiers were anxiously waiting at the Caves of Torment. [23/08/12 00:10] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Both armies marched towards each other and when the horn had sounded and eyes had met, a great charge was given by both sides. [23/08/12 00:10] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]When they met near the Gates of Despair, weapons clashed and creatures died. [23/08/12 00:10] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Arrows shot and people burned. And for the very first time, tokens and angiens were used in the fight, with tremendous success. [23/08/12 00:10] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]After the great clash it became obvious that the GG alliance, especially without the help of the MR Fraternity, was no longer the strong and powerful alliance it used to be. [23/08/12 00:11] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]The GG fighters, stationed in the KotB Bell alliance, and the KotB fighters as well, had been defeated, their blood seeping into the thirsty Necrovion land. [23/08/12 00:11] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]But it was a close fight, as all of the warriors of the CotE had given everything and only 2 powerful fighters of Necrovion remained. [23/08/12 00:11] [b]Orvid:[/b]. [23/08/12 00:11] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]They were Pamplemousse, the Harbinger of Doom and Citrusy Wrath and Ailith, the Berserker Babe with the Handbag of Peace. [23/08/12 00:11] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]But Yrthilian had one last plan. As Peace was in control of Wodin’s soul, so too was Yrthilian in control of Khalazdad’s soul. [23/08/12 00:11] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Khalazdad, when he was so very young, curious to the nature of Necrovion, had given the good half of his soul to Wodin, long before the first war had begun. [23/08/12 00:14] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]He had destroyed enough sides of the cube, that he could enslave Khalazdad’s soul. [23/08/12 00:14] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]The Balanced King of Necrovion, half shade, half man, had become unbalanced and a servant once more. [23/08/12 00:15] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]Some say that Yrthilian and Liberty was tricked into a war, thanks to the rumor that Loreroot was Jester’s first target. [23/08/12 00:15] [b]Metal Bunny:[/b]But what happened next? After Yrthilian had enslaved Khalazdad’s soul, it was obvious that Necrovion and CotE had won a pyrrhic victory. The trivia contest will probably start at 21:00 server time, on the 25th of August. The reason why it starts early, is because it took approximately 4-6 hours (can't remember), last year and the year before that... so, be sure you have some time. First I will fire random trivia questions. First 16 players that get 4 correct, go through to the quarter finals. First to break against nr. 16, 2nd against 15th, etc. Semi-finals, then fight for bronze, then fight for gold. Each round has 5 trivia questions, all of them concerning the stories I have told in the past, along with the tale of the legends. First player to hit 3 correct answers, advances to the next round. Each set of finals has increasingly difficult questions. The ones from semi's are already quite hard, the ones in the bronze and especially the gold fight, are brutal. The ones who didn't make it to the semi's will be given a silver coin and a WPcode Semi's get silver coin, angien and a WPcode. 4th place gets WP. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place get the choice between WP or a rare creature, with 1st place first pick. (But this depends on the amount of rare creatures I can give away. If I only can give 2 away, 3rd place gets choice between WP and angien plus a more worthwhile creature such as Imp, or more angiens ) 1st place also gets a trophy. Going back to the fact that the account misses a few things, here is one: I tried so hard to make yrthilian see sense. I called a meeting for the leaders to discuss the issue and it was destroyed by the one or two that seemed to be taking this too personally and being unable to leave the past behind. I contacted yrthilian to clarify the message from Jester (The post on the forum that was used as a justification for in-game war) and he didn't care. He wanted Necrovion. The conditions set for war: If GG won they wanted the land of NC, if NC won they wanted the Knights of the Bell alliance as the spoils of war.  I did not want to sit back and watch the lands being unbalanced in this way, I wanted to help keep the lands as they are. The suggestion that I was simply swayed by public opinion is insulting to me. I am strong enough to make decisions for myself and embrace the consequences of my actions. I thought I would have to stay in Necrovion, but my nature called me to the East.  To be clear, I post this now because I have an issue with historical accounts that are incomplete, incorrect or biased.  The past is the past.
