A while ago i spent quite a bit of time getting files ready for someone to make a new forum skin, since i havent heard anything from them since then i guess this hasnt happened.

If anyone knows anything, please say so, Ideally someone would come and go "tada its done" but i doubt that since i havent heard anything.

Sorry to have dropped the ball on this.

I worked with a group on this, but we had to use Invisionzone's five-day free trials and switch email addresses each time. Eventually it became such a hassle what with people being busy IRL and there being hundreds of colors and none of us being real web designers and the spacing of the sylesheet being so close to impenetrable that the best way to change a specific color turned out to be eyedroppering its hex value, searching for that in the doc, and pasting in its place the hex of a swatch from the palette we'd assembled in Photoshop. Not to mention the raging disagreements about color schemes..

Not to put anyone off, but it's good to know what you're up against.

I made this demo just now, so it's good for another five days. The current stylesheet from our forum is uploaded there, ready to work with. Anyone interested can request adminship and get access to the stylesheets. Chew, if you give the okay I'll post the CSS files you sent us here for anyone to try for themselves. I'd be willing to work in a team, but doing it alone is just too daunting right now.

What exactly is the plan? Just a color scheme adaption? or images added or actual layout shifts?

The whole 5 day access seems a bit of a pain.

So I'd go with one forum photoshop mock up. make an image which shows all the stuff you want.

Send it for some feedback to 1 or 2 persons. Adapt. Send. adapt till done.

You can't design stuff with too many folks as noone will ever agree.

(our compagnies website has by now bounced from design to boss about 193 times).

Once there's a final draft of the image file, then we can inventorize as to what images we need, what color hexes and such.

And then we have that 5 day limit to try and jam in the new layout.

and if the css starts with .calendar_date_select class, yeah it's a bit horrid.

But you can probably get away (at least for the initial stage) by simply overwriting the styles by adding them to the end of the file (you have to make sure you are using the proper calls though to ensure they have the same priority) or a bit neater, see if one can include a new css file.

So I can help (proficient in css, html, php, photoshop, javascript and so on), but I don't really have the time for a gazillion discussions. So for the sake of speed, make a photoshop mock up first?

Edit: Also after a quick trial, right click 'save as' on the forums, save it to your hard disk and open the magicduel forums.htm in your browser. Edit the index.php in MagicDuel Forums_files folder to change stuff around. This should be a reasonable way to try things out

EDIT: a quick trial with the downloading of the entire page to circumvent having to freakin' resubscrube for another trial

some quick edits done, to proof a point, not to suggest an actual design.

Iv added two forum skins to the templates, "yellow tea" and "comfy"

Please try both of them out, as you can see i havent yet customized them to be "magicduel" but this is generally what they will look like, minor edits such as adding a logo image and removing some of the less general images will be done.

After a week or so i will put some voting up, which one peolpe like the most.

Is it just me or do I get just comfy in my theme setting? apart from IP board master and mobile?

Edit: I liked comfy more :D yellow tea is cute though. :D

I just want to say that in my opinion new forum skin is PERFECT. It splendidly defines MagicDuel affiliation to Sun.

The Sun shines without halt, as the Night never seems to come here.

I'm also curious is there a possibility to change small Forum icon (which is added to your bookmark browser bar) to yellow/orange colour.

It was previously the MD, but i didnt like it because i couldnt tell the differnce between the two from just looking at the icons.

If someone wants to make it i can upload it :) Something MD themed but different from the main one. Google "how to make a favicon"
