yeah, happy b-day. now time tp start the philosophy. why do people celebrate getting closer to being dead? maybe it is just people in their usual mocking state saying "ha ha! you are going to die soon so we're going to have a party to celebrate!". maybe we just like to party (most likely). or lastly we might celebrate to be in denial of death, so as to say "in your face, we arent afraid of you! in fact we party and celebrate the closer you are! and then we play it cool like we're fearless 8)

P.S. america celebrate your b-day to, and we know how to partyyyyyyy!!!!

I agree with you Arrow that is not necessary to celebrate your closure to death but it seems people need reasons to party...

WE don't need reason to party... but society wants us to tell a reason why we drink so much alcohol ;-)

we can party all week long without any reason at all, but people would claim we have nothing to do and that we are useless booze-hounds... so we invent reasons, like birthdays, deathdays, christmas, easter, school out, school in, summer festivals, fridays, saturdays... you know, there's always something that's worth a good party :lol:

first day of spring, last day of winter, and so on

a full circle around the sun, representing a cycle of life, and a chance for other's to recognise the significance of that person to them... just my opinion though, it's nice to have a day to remind people that it's good to just show someone you care for them...

Your not celebrating the closure to your death.
You could die 3 months after your birthday, and no one could care nor make a party about it.
You could die any day, and every day is the closure to your death, and you dont celebrate them. Period
