1. The way most it has been presented only a few times was there any mention of a true warrior aspect, most of it has been this archives stuff... now im not saying warriors can't also research, etc. i mean hell look at the Templar Knights and how they reigned in knowledge, but the way people have been presenting it was as a group or researchers, in my opinion, and actually put little thought into the warrior aspect of it. Besides aren't the Sentinels already dealing with Necrovion knowledge? why have 2 alliances dedicated to that? why not trying to put the chips into something that isnt already being covered, again not saying they shouldnt be trying to gain knowledge just that it seems counter-intuitive that that is everyone's point of contention in this matter.

  2. It's not entirely a new concept that's been brought up when mentioning alliances, months ago (nearly a year) when I suggested a pirate alliance I suggested that they deal with hard to get information as well as a broad spectrum of other mediums, such as a little bit of war-mongering, but as a pirates it isn't counter-intuitive to try to try to gain such things as a means of getting the upper hand in dealings. What I imagine this alliance being, however, is a more of an advanced military force working with the shades/under the queen of Necrovian, basicly a first line of defense or offense while the sentinels deal with the information... just my ideas on it.

  3. Well the archivists really shouldnt be favoring one land over another, it is their duty to archive as much lore as they can, although i do see your point. I think that if they did drop neutrality, however they would easily discredit themselves, as well as open themselves up to attack from outside sources, and do a fair bit to negate their previous work... that's just my opinion... when people see weakness in those that are supposed to be working for all they have a tendency to attack it.

P.S. sorry this post was way late because i got preoccupied :)

  4.
Usually guilds work for themselves, not for the good of others. Of course, there are exceptions.
I'm thinking in MD terms, not like a thief's guild which would be more akin to an alliance in MD.

here guilds such as the Archivists, Legend Speakers, Advertisers all do work for the good of MD as a whole, although it seems that most of them are winking out of existance now.

While I agree with you if you were looking at the classical definition of guilds i personally feel that here in MD guilds are working for the good of all of MD, and those that are allied with a land are called alliances... just my view on things and my view on why guilds are given such a higher degree of immunity.

  5. i dont mean to sound doubtful, but why would someone wish to trade an 'item' that has the potential to have a WP attached, or nothing at all... it's too great to give the 'item' for free and has the possibility to be nothing at all... anyhow those are my concerns with it, other than that it sounds fun.

  6. Does citizenship mean that the crafters will switch to what all guilds should be in my opinion, something that isnt affiliated with any land because it is affiliated with all of the people? ...hmmm... guilds working for the greater good of all people... provocative... :) but whatever, crafters can dabble in all the LR affairs they want, though, and claim neutrailty although that seems counter-intuitive to me.

  7. He's got heart as big as a potato, and in all honesty I'm torn between him and Lifeline. I've known them both from the start and they have both been true friends... The first time I met Pip was when me, Logan, Pample, Inno, and Pip used to tell stories up in Marind's bedroom, those were the days. Pip has concern for the common man, and I trust he will be able to make the right descisions. Pip, I know you will do well by MB and I will more than happily vouch for you to any who care to ask.

  8. Pip... maybe he stopped the story for a reason, asking for reward alone like that is unseemly, perhaps once we all learn a little more about this realm and give him reason to reward us he will, but for now i think it's best to respect his wishes and drop the story issue.

And Fenrir, did you ever stop to think this may be more than a game? perhaps it is a tool to teach and learn from, building off you as you build off it... anyhow im gonna stop speaking to you on the matter... you are ridiculous and obviously deaf to what is being said anyhow.

  9.
Well, the questions anyways. We want to know more about the surroundings... And what happens next in Chapter 3+4... that story line is what drew me into md in the first place.
If you want to know more about your surroundings, you need only look. As Mur said himself:
...i should leave only the visual clues...the visual can not talk more than they should...
(i hope you do not feel i am misquoting you mur, and sorry for my meddling, but i meddle... as an uncouth rogue i cannot help myself)

Open your eyes, piece things together in your mind, stop looking too deep into stories and try to understand things. Yes, the stories are beautiful, but they are allowing you to distract yourself from it's true meaning... maybe I shouldnt have said anything earlier and left things be, but I also wish to see you all open your eyes more and not get caught up in frills and lace, I can see how frustrating it is to present something to people and allow them to run the other way with it, and I hope I am not doing the same, but open your minds, not just your ears, and maybe you will be able to formulate what this world is trying to tell you.

  10. Guybrush, some history of the land can be inferred from other lands... like cubes, spheres, and other phenomena in MD, form follows function... I mean if you think of the lands as elements I would think of GG and Necro as water, LR as Earth, MB as wind (mostly because of the capitol and angiens), and that leads me to believe that the East lands would be fire, on account of it being a more civilized and sociable feeling place (i come to this conclusion because man only truly became a society after the discovery and harnessing of fire) so not all Lore has to be in the form of stories... though perhaps I've said too much :P *looks for a censor button for his mind*... Maybe observations and being able to place things is the kind of lore that Mur was truly looking for, and not the actually story, he wished us to use our minds to see something bigger. But then again I could always be wrong, and likely am :P oh well, hope you could gain something from my ramblings.

P.S. sorry for adding nothing regarding the non-movement of the Epoch, I just wanted to perhaps present what I think may be part of the reason for the push for non-lore, because people got side-tracked by the story of the lands and missed the meaning in other details.

  11. Me as a remains (before all the decomp and stuff)

i would add a picture that's very embarassing of me, but i dont know how to use the spoiler thing... oh well, enjoy :P.

  12. Aye, I would say it'd feel a sufficient change if you implemented citizenship and factions (yeah, yeah, i know i'm shameless) because i think those two features alone have the power to ~drasticly~ change the feel of MD as we know into something new, and better still.

  13. that one had me laughing, i like the boxers and the whisk, it felt very tom cruise :D

hopefully you guys'll get a kick out of mine, but i have to wait until there's more light until i can take 'em :P also i have one from way back when that is gruesome, so don't think any less of me when i post it... please? :D

  14. I can make sure Fenrir, or anyone who acts unreasonably, are moved away from the tournament if their actions necessitate it, at least for a good 20 minutes *smirks devilishly* don't underestimate the power of an enraged captain... not to mention all the people that will be mad that they lost their silver because of him, let's just say I think I could make his MD life hell anytime I see him if he acts foolishly during this event because I will not tolerate him, nor anyone else, ruining a pleasurable event for everyone, and I will bring my own festival of pain to their ass... sufficient warning has been given, and all are welcome, even Fenrir, as long as they do not act in a way that would serve to ruin everybody's fun, I will do my best to personally ensure it.

    Respectfully,
    ~Captain Cryxus X'hal
