Well I think it's quite rude to kiss someone without asking or anything...but you can't blame him, really...who wouldn't want to kiss all of you? ;)
That goes both ways though. :( And considering the mistress of the sisterhood smooches people without asking it was just a matter of time before someone started smooching back! ^_^

  2.
shadow seeker.. just to make sure you didnt miss it.. read page 4 one before the last post.. thanks... ITS IMPORTANT.. i know you are busy.. but plz read it

Actually I think Guy signed up in time, he may havent of messaged SS though and "marked it as unread". If you guys/gals don't do that first then the quest will never start.

  3. Love the thread! So nice when MD is down for a bit and great threads like this get started.

My name is pretty old for me, although I guess it's kinda common. First time I used it was on a game called "Dragon Warrior" for nintendo. I wanted a cool name and just got my first shot gun, a 20-Gauge and just took the name from there.

Other games I've used it in is Counter-Strike (Old school CS, MB, I used to B-Hop all over too :D), Ultima Online, ShadowBane, and a few others MMO's here and there.

  4. Thanks for taking the time to actually explain all the inactivity. I know it's not something you had to do, but I

think it will definitely make things easier for you (the programmer) and us (the gamers) if we are kept in the

loop atleast a bit. Go have your fun on your cheesy strategy game if you must =D, as long as you give me

    some fun afterwards :P.

  5. Well, I noticed that a few people have posted their backstory here on the forums and thought I'd do the same, just in this topic instead of creating another. So anyways here it is and hope you enjoy.

Washed ashore on the sandy beaches overlooked by the Ivory Lighthouse, I had no memory of who I once was nor how I came to be here. I began to explore this new land that had been thrust upon me. I didn't run away, nor cower in fear, instead choosing to stand courageous and embrace this new place and the mysteries that lay to rest here.

After wandering for many weeks, exploring and struggling to survive, I laid my head down to rest one day and dreamt a dream; I dreamt of this world, but covered in total darkness. And in this lightless world I grew sad, for in that very instant I knew that without Light and the Sun which provides such life giving light this world would not, could not survive. The trees and plants would die, in turn starving everything else, thus destroying the circle of life. And when I was at my lowest point, stricken with grief for my new home, a strange thing happened. I cringed as i began to feel my skin burn as though I was standing too close to a fire or had been out in the sun for far too long. This burning sensation began to spread to every fiber of my being, as if I was burning from the inside out. I howled in anguish and closed my eyes, trying to block out the pain any way I could, finally passing out in darkness.

When I awoke what felt like hours later, there was a being standing over me. I would try and describe it to you, but alas, it was like staring into the Sun. The longer I looked the more blurred my vision became. And then, It spoke, and although it made no sound, I knew in my mind what it was saying.

"Know mortal, that this is but one of the possible futures of this, your world. One, which I sense you do not wish to come to pass." Speechless, all I could do was nod my head in awe. "Nor do I mortal, for I am the Sun God, and in this future, I have no worshippers nor the power to restore the balance of light."

I thought about what it said and looked around at this world trapped in darkness and knew what I must do. Slowly, I got to my feet and knelt down before the Sun God

“I, Gauge, will do everything in my power to keep this from happening. I give you my Life, my Death, and anything else you ask of me. I am yours." After I spoke these words, I could sense that the Sun God was pleased. I knew in an instant that it had accepted my offer and that now my life was his, as a Paladin of the Sun.

When I awoke, I felt something rubbing against my neck. In my sleepy haze, I slapped at it, and realized that it wasn't a bug or some other pesky thing, but a radiant Orange Sapphire cut into the image of the Sun, hung upon a golden chain. Then it all came back to me, all that had happened in my "dream", and I knelt in prayer to the Sun God and thanked him for giving me purpose again.

And that is something I will live or die for, Sun God willing!

P.S. Thanks to Intrigue for giving it some flair. :P

  6. Right now I'm waiting on George R. R. Martin's next book to come out in the series "A Song of Ice and Fire" I must say they are really great reads.

Another great fantasy series that I've read would probably be Sword of Truth Series and Wheel of Time series.

  7.
you post a loaded question for your poll especially when no one wants to agree on how much a silver is worth

some say 50 cents some say a buck during the auction i treated the silver as if it was worth 2 bucks or credits

so honestly everyone or almost everyone will vote yes for this and you knew they would when you posted it ...

so lets see where this goes and sage thing about is this way you can get what 40+ silvers per reset and only 5 golds and most wont get them often because most don't do resets much honestly with silvers already in the game too that makes the gold worth even more

this will all depend on trade ans how it goes

    this is my 2c

    The Metal Mage
Kragel, I'll reiterate for you. It doesn't really matter if people think the silver is worth different things,

because right now (and this is part of the problem) we don't have a backing for that silver, as awiiya so

eloquently put it. If everyone thinks its a good idea, and Mur DOES decide to implement this, then he

will be able to set a price for the silver, whether it be one dollar, half a dollar, or whatever, then we will

know what each silver peice will be worth. And that can only stimulate this economy we are trying to

    build.

P.S. And if you were really marking one silver equal to two dollars, then you were charging an insanse

amount. Heck you had a max joker going for 25 silver (ie: 50 dollars) Be glad noone else thought along

those same lines, or else the auction prolly wouldnt have worked as well. But, thats neither here nor

    there.

  8.
Your theory is interesting. How much would the Gold Coins be then to your thinking? I have only one so far.
Honestly Sage right now it's not even about what the coins would be WORTH, only that the IDEA is

sound. That's what really matters at this point, the rest is just details. And when it comes to details I

think Mur would be the one who needs to work that out. For now let's just let him know that the

community as a whole (or very close) thinks it would be a good idea.

  9.
Here is my opinion on silver:

For now, it should be absolutely useless, but isn't. However, that could change very quickly.

Economies work like this: There is a valued commodity, one that people want. In order to trade this commodity, they use a representation of wealth, something that can eventually be turned in for money. Using a RL example, for the first centuries of paper money, it was ALWAYS backed by gold or silver, so that if someone wanted, they could trade in their paper money at any time and get equal value in gold. Nowadays that is not true, and I think because of it our economy could collapse at any moment, but that's a conversation for another time.

The problem with MD's economy in my opinion, and the reason that silver prices will fluctuate, is that there is no backing to the Silver. Their value is purely symbolic, and as a result... their worth is determined by the population. If we as a group decide silver is worthless, it will be worthless.

A solution you ask? Just something interesting to think about, what if you could trade silver back for credits? This is interesting because then you could pay just one MD credit instead of the gift of 5 or 20 all at once. This would back the silver, and then silver would ALWAYS be worth 1 MD credit.

Of course, I doubt this will happen, because Mur is probably curious to see how we treat silver, and how we value something that is only purely symbolic, which to be honest, I am curious about as well.

After reading this I'd really like to know what the community thinks. I honestly think its a GREAT idea

and would think it would definitely HELP the economy that we are trying to build here on MD. What do

    you all think?

  10. I don't know how to respond to this other than say I disagree with like 90% of what's said. I myself am

not even yet a month old, and already feel like I am finding a place on this realm. Just stop looking at

the glass from half empty and you will have a much better experience here.
