3. THE MYSTIC ROSE by Elsa Barker I, WOMAN, am that wonder-breathing rose That blossoms in the garden of the King. In all the world there is no lovelier thing, And the learned stars no secret can disclose Deeper than mine--that almost no one knows. The perfume of my petals in the spring Is inspiration to all bards that sing Of love, the spirit’s lyric unrepose. Under my veil is hid the mystery Of unaccomplished aeons, and my breath The Master-Lover’s life replenisheth. The mortal garment that is worn by me The loom of Time renews continually; And when I die--the universe knows death. And on a different note - NON/Boyd Rice - Disney Land can wait - from the album "Music, Martinis and Misanthropy" Someday I'll take you to Disneyland Someday I'll take you to Disneyland We'll go on Mr. Toad's wild ride And follow him straight to hell But that's not necessary just now For now hell's all around us No rubber devils No smell of sulphur But hell nonetheless Hell more grotesque than any medieval woodcut Instead of dramatic demons A lifeless, shuffling horde Without souls Without imagination Without worth And beyond redemption Someday I'll take you to Disneyland I'll buy you a pair of mouse ears Tons of cotton candy And a big helium balloon with Mickey inside But all that can wait Today I'll buy you a .357 magnum And lots and lots of bullets I'll buy you a stack of AK-47s And a warehouse filled with banana clips All loaded and ready to go I'll buy you a B-52 Loaded with neutron bombs And lots of soldiers To do whatever's necessary Disneyland can wait We have time Someday there'll be more of us Maybe then the world can be Disneyland And visiting hell will be novel again Hear it here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJSsbXDBWXs
4. He picked up the Knife and smiled. “We have been through so much together, my friend...and so many” he mused. “Remember the first one?” “Oui, biensur!” answered the Knife. It was a gift from his pen pal in France, so it didn’t seem too strange that it spoke in French, though it was somewhat surprising that its French vocabulary was quite similar to his. At least it spoke English in an exaggerated French accent, just like in the movies, which was reassuring. “Je suis still envious of that one you used the stone on, though” “Well, mon ami, you always said we must balance things out. It did have a pretty good balance to it” said the boy and chuckled. “Ne mock pas la balance!” “Besides”, continued the boy unphased, it was quite symbolic using the stone, if I do say so myself. Not the cleanest way, sure, but very symbolic nonetheless. Poetic even. Bloody metaphoric one could say. If I cannot skip stones on water, no one should!” “Ah, les Anglais, you will never understand true poetry…” “Wot?! I dare you say that to Shakespeare’s face, Binky!” The boy found it equally poetic calling the Knife Binky, after Death’s horse in a story he read once, though it kept insisting its name was Jean-Luc, after the famous captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise, the most famous Frenchman on TV. He didn’t have the heart to explain to the closet Trekkie the ancestry of the Frenchman. “Le jeune homme doth protest too much, moithinks. La balance must be enforced! Let’s go hunting tonight!” “Best idea you had in a while, Binky. Tonight the Batman dies!” “Wait, quoi?!” “Oh, nothing. Get ready, we’re going out! The balance must be enforced!” The boy put on his grayish coat, placed the Knife in a pocket close to his heart, and went out to do what needed to be done.

6. since i was bored at work and can't actually access the game since my work proxy blocks it and i forgot my 3g card at home, i decide to enter this contest with an animated story of sorts - hope you like it, it's got Cthulhu and morphing - you can never go wrong with that! hmmm - actually i didn't forget my 3g card at home - luckily i found it or i couldn't have uploaded to youtube and the original animated gif i made was like 48mb PS - the moral of the story is that RP-ers are Cthulhu-worshipers
7. sorry to hear that mate, good luck in real life and hope you'll still come to the beer meetings!

9. I'll try to disregard the fact that you're attempting to sneak the ol' watchmaker argument past us in "observer" clothes and rather focus on the purpose bit. Your clock-hands question is forcing an already weak analogy - us 6 billion buggers are not, in fact, "a clock", hence, we do not need to have "hands" showing a three-headed alien on a casual Sunday Mars fly-by "the time", as it were. We also did not really "spin and rotate in harmony for thousands of years", I'd much rather fancy a "ground against each other in accelerated entropy" description, so despite some short-lived localized pockets of synergy, we don't have any "higher purpose" to speak of (except maybe entertaining the dolphins ), and subsequently liken to time-keeping.

Happy B Day

Happy Birthday all! And Valy, hope to see you for another beer soon!
11. I don't have a fing clue! but you did help me out when i was starting out, and were quite decent about it, so i suppose that's a thumbs up from me! oh yeah, also what dst said!
12. on Woodman's - I agree with two of the mentions of Z's black hat thing above. i must've tried 30 answers, from the most obvious to the most weird (from "hacker" to "unholy priest", through "white hat", "villain", "yes" and even "spy vs. spy" ) and i gave up on the quest entirely - it was frustrating that there was no context, such as - does it relate to MD, life in general, pop-culture or whatever. on the interim quest i think i managed 2 or 3 riddles quite easily, then got stuck on a brain-frying one like Burns was saying and gave up after two attempts. so yeah, overall i'd say the difficulty is quite high for your quests as compared to the others i've tried.
13.
Toten, your lyrics are awesome! I mean they are the best! But MasterB had something in there....no idea what but I listen to his song a hole day and then the "5 golden coins" got stuck to my brain and I sing it even now. It's a catchy song . I might say it's a commercial one. But this is what people are looking for. Not...Eminescu* . And please don't feel offended by my words. My opinion in this is truly impartial. And as a side note I must tell that I am very proud that both you and MasterB won something in this contest because you are romanians . Let us show Team Brit and the others that we can also do stuff . Bravo! *for the ones who don't know...use google
thanks dst, i'm happy to hear that and i do agree, MasterB's song totally prods buttocks (dunno if saying "kicks ass" is allowed ) Yaaay Team Romania!
14.
If you feel so cheated and want to know exactly why people were chosen then PM me in forum or in game. Personally...I feel a bit annoyed and I'm pretty disappointed you've chosen to post that comment, especially taking into consideration the other participants. Bad form.
nah, it's your contest mate, you can do whatever you please, it's not like you _have_ to take into account public opinion. i offer my apologies to any of the winners (and other contestants) annoyed by my comment, as it was not my intention to belittle others' submissions (which i thoroughly enjoyed), just voicing my opinion on the referee-ing, in the sacred tradition of spectator games, no need to get wound up about it. as to "bad form", i suppose copying others' submissions in style or even content wouldn't count as such? far from me to go out yelling "j'accuse!", but still, going all eurovision on the contest was quite disappointing. no worries, next year i'll just get some hair-styling tips from Ledah, and get a bigger crowd to shout for me, i'm sure that'll help immensely if i don't befriend the judges!
15.
Ok then....Ailith and myself have gone through your videos and meandered and squabbled and here are the results... 1 - MasterB 2 - Asterdai 3 - Shadowseeker Best Lyrics - Totenkopf Best 5 gold rings screaming - Yoshi Best Video - Dante Falcon Most likely to make your ears bleed - I am Bored I have also had a couple of donations from Ledah and Ailith that will go to Sage and Windy for the most christmas cheer. But...thats not all.... In recogition of having the best hair in all the lands, I personally shall award Ledah one Gold Coin. I will send a silver coin to Keith, Observer and Shantu. Guys, this contest was a blast, thanks for the laughs and the grinning. MasterB, please PM me your choice from the 3 crits from Mur so I can PM Astrdai and then Shadow and then Mur. Z
well, seeing as my entry was the best rated in the thread and got the most positive comments, i obviously feel a bit cheated for not even getting the podium, but at least i got best lyrics, for inspiring so many
16. when is the contest ending yoshi?
17. It's Bob Marley the Jamaican Xmas Tree and his semi-vigilant protector, Zmokey the Goat!!! And since i already spent an hour magnetic lasso-ing and magic wand-ing at pixel level to make a proper layer mask of bob, here's another bonus one (actually this one was the idea when i started, but playing around with the bob-layer blending options gave me the idea for the first one): The real Path of Loneliness, feat. Emo Xmas Bob and Emo Goatboy lurking behind the wall to pounce on people who don't understand him and Bob!
18. lol thanks mate, i just noticed :D

19. great job everyone, especially MasterB, you're really giving me a run for my money - too bad you're not in the country or we could've done an awesome duet! though i would definitely like to see some funkier lyrics, seems like all the poets have gone into hiding
20. i'd definitely go for a silver one, maybe more if there's more than one model. price seems very reasonable to me - i mean, it's less than a jack daniel's in some clubs, and for some reason i drink plenty of those
