Chewett’s travels next brought him into the company of Sunfire, a prominent envoy of Loreroot. Sunfire confided in Chewett that while his Queen was away he wanted to protect the forest as best he could.
The meeting however was a welcome change from accusations and whispered talk of depletion. Here was a representative of another land, willing to speak openly, exchange news, and hear what CARD had been attempting to uncover. The pair reminisced about the times they plotted to evict the demon from the Lands of the East, and while that plot eventually fizzled out, they enjoyed themselves immensely. Perhaps that was something to resume once the depletion had been dealt with…
While Sunfire did not directly pledge loyalty to CARD, he was keen to see what could be done to reduce depletion in the land he called home.
As a final remark, Chewett quietly suggested that maybe Loreroot could benefit from a transitional monarch, someone to rule in place of a currently lost Queen, leaving Sunfire to ponder.
As he continued to wander the land, the conversations took on a more convivial tone when Sir Blut of the SoE appeared bearing a gift. His home grown bottle of bushie wine was presented in recognition of Chewett’s work with CARD. For a brief while talk of depleters and darker schemes was set aside in favour of enjoying the company.
Clouds filled the sky causing Chewett to remark to Sir Blut that the weather had been unusually tempestuous of late. The greying world brought darker thoughts, Chewett was reminded that if depletion continued, the fine wines would stop. More determined than ever he started his march towards Golemus to observe the weather from a higher vantage point.

Ledah had walked the lands for many years, straying into some of the darkest places and returning changed. One of the things he learnt was to channel the darker magics of the world, today he would put that to a use, however whether good or bad it would be up to the reader.
Unknown by Chewett the Gazebo of Chaos was the perfect place for Ledah to channel these darker powers. A punishment became a mistake.
Ledah stood in the centre, pinned by Chewett’s spell, and begun chanting. Here, stretching out to the five pillars of the Gazebo, he pulled together the ancient teleportation magic and perverted it. Instead of sending his body to another place it was used to resurrect his thoughts in another body.
A long dead figure stirred on the Gateway Island, filled with vitriolic hate towards CARD. All it knew is that it must deplete as much as it good. Fumbling around the land it grabbed the nearest tools and begun to deplete the land.
The punishment of Ledah became a greater threat, the depletion of the Gateway.

After much trudging through the land Chewett stumbled onto prime suspect number One, Ledah.
This depleter, who Death Ray and Chewett had decried across the land, stood before him. A polite conversation was never going to take place and what followed was an escalation of words.
Accusations were met with defiance, neither party wanted to stand down and every comment was followed by a more vicious reply.
Chewett demanded an end to the depletion Ledah perpetrated through the land, Ledah however was unphased and stated he would continue until his last.
Since there was no need for further words Chewett decided to show CARD was not toothless. Before Ledah could react Chewett activated an erolin device and shouted “May the punishment of the land hit Ledah”.
The first action of CARD was to banish Ledah to the Gazebo of Chaos, but in the darkness, he hatched a plan himself…

Blackshade Rider reacted to Muratus del Mur in Spell Proposal "Stop Deplete"someone depleting is like a random person on the street destroying a young tree you just planted and watched growing last few years.
(ofc its not that emotional, i am just trying to explain the level of helplessness involved)
Now i could stop depleting technically, make sure its no longer possible... that would make it pointless
Or you could think what could actually make that tree immune to the random vandal that will eventually break it after you kept it safe for a few years.
You see the problem?
You got stuck in complaining, and ignore the level of cleverness you need to apply to counter the unavoidable daily situations that you encounter. The assholes "depleting" or doing random bad stuff because they just can, hurting the community, still exist.. and they continue to exist regardless how many flyers you spread , how many protests you make saying its not good, how many petions you write and so on.
This is reality... a reality you all face in the outer realm, and this realm hear presents you with the same problem, but with the possibility to devise a solution, be it implemented by me, or by you, that will solve the issue without blocking the possibility for it to happen...
you get me?

Blackshade Rider got a reaction from Sunfire in Spell Proposal "Stop Deplete"I guess in a way it could be used by anyone if they aquire the spell or item. But i feel this spell or item should be exclusive to CARD members only. If it can be used by anyone then the depleting players can use it on players who are not depleting and they could even use it on CARD members out of spite. So I feel that not just everyone should be able to obtain this

Blackshade Rider reacted to Ledah in Spell Proposal "Stop Deplete"A spell that lasts 3 days.
Presumably with 4 regenerable charges.
So it can block someone from gathering for almost the entirety of the period the spell takes to regenerate.
Assuming only one person is using said spell on one individual - otherwise it blocks them from gathering permanently if multiple people do so.
Made for a special group of people only.
With no actual restrictions.
Despite existing legislators only lasting 24 hours, and only working on public tools, not earned private tools.
This seems like a very generous and intelligent idea, from an equally generous and intelligent mind.

Blackshade Rider got a reaction from Chewett in Spell Proposal "Stop Deplete"I am proposing a new spell (or item) to help combat and stop resource depleting players Called " Stop Deplete "
The spell or item would work by stopping (x) player from using tools to gather resources for at minimum 3 days to give time for recourses to replenish.
This spell or item would greatly help scenes that are constantly being drained of all resources by the same 4 players everyday (which is more than half of MD scenes)
This can also be something to help @Chewett cause in the issue of resource depleting players (AKA: CARD)
@Muratus del Mur I offer my wps for this to happen if at all possible

After much patient work, Chewett and Death Ray finally had what they needed: a list.
Names had been gathered, movements compared, and the marks left upon the Realm carefully recorded. The question now was what to do with it. A list hidden away in the Archives would change nothing.
Chewett had a better idea.
The Bell of Marind could call the lands together — and if the Realm was going to hear of the depleters, then it would hear their names clearly.
So Chewett and Death Ray set out. From the depths of the Archives, across the barren stretches of No Man Land, and onward towards the peaks of Golemus, they carried their accusations far and wide. Wherever they found ears willing to listen, the names of the depleters were proclaimed.
For CARD, this was its first truly public act.
And from the shadows, Ledah watched.
The coalition was no longer merely observing the depletion.
Now it was making sure everyone else was watching too.

Originally my memory gatherer should have only taken one but after the recent changes it seems to only be able to take two. We shall have to work out how best to handle that

Blackshade Rider reacted to Chewett in Evo Pickle Jar has a 34 hour cooldownI'm not sure if it's intention but the evo pickle item has a 34 hour cooldown. Originally pickle jars had a 3 hour cooldown.
I would propose reducing the evo pickle jars somewhat so they are more fair for their evo point cost

Blackshade Rider reacted to Muratus del Mur in Chewett's ideas on making and Crafting your own Armour and WeaponsAbout what structural changes i will be willing to make to the weapons system, so you know the limits:
Yes:
- cost to be winertia percentage of your max total and over
- conversion between resources, items, heat, weapons
- degrading weapons, making fights destroy equipment
No:
- variations of output weapon properties (depending on ingredients or forge place etc), at least not for now
- custom names for equipment
- directly trading equipment (only blueprints via items)
- making them cost anything else but winertia directly, they will still cost other stuff to make the blueprints
..getting closer
-
Blackshade Rider reacted to Chewett in Chewett's ideas on making and Crafting your own Armour and WeaponsI remember a Mur that didn't read lots of text But damn he does write it now
This is great and just what I am thinking
200 fights can be a day of work but I think that's probably fair. Then you can decide if you want to put your "good armour" on.
It could means you decide to wear worse armour until you need to attack @Ledah
A lot of people like their "flavour" tags, bespoke custom stuff rather than generic tags. Is this to encourage people to "get rid" of their old tags.
Originally the idea was that the "second" tags would be used for general stuff, and your main tag would be the personal ones. But later that changed to just everyone has two tags.
One idea we discussed before was stats degrading. Say every day all your processing stats goes down by 1 so you can only focus on keeping one or two high. It would be interesting to see if people could keep many up.
Note: This is not "ALl skills degrade" but special processing ones.
The item usage/gathering streak could work but I'm not sure that's working currently, it always seem to be 0 for me even when I have used stuff every day.
-
Blackshade Rider reacted to Muratus del Mur in Chewett's ideas on making and Crafting your own Armour and Weaponslloooots of text
let me tell you my current intentions for now, and i will already mix these with some good ideas i saw above, but its not final form. Now its Max speaking, who knows what will happen over long night work sessions...
armor gives you percentage benefits, so cost should also be done similarly, ranging from 50 to 300% , from common to special. How you get the needed resources is an other story, the 50 to 100% range means you can get any, not to many, you just need to refill your winertia and whatever other things they will need (if any other).
The 100 to 300% part, maybe is achievable by alternate ways (here i could need your help telling if so), and/or a change to the winertia system to be able to obtain and hold for a limited time value that you can't keep could help.
possibly fun: I was thinking more in terms of robbing via fights, while you hold more than your max, any lost fight means you lose it all.. (?)
In a way connected to what you arealdy said, here are some suggestions:
Step 1: crafting of such armor items, via resources and why not maybe a dedicated role in the tag dispatcher. It would be a mixer, needing ingredients, and outputting a new type of armor blueprint item, that can then be converted via lots of heat into a forge (no not the current forge, i mean like a blacksmith forge). This could turn each item into its own side quest. Items already have the trading mechanism and auction and all, so this will allow weapons and armor to be tradeable too.
:: gather resource, trade them, mix them, obtain blueprint, consume several heat slots to create the final item ::
Step 2: have armor degrade. In certain fights that inflict skill damage, or even regularly, armor could degrade at a rate of lets say 100% in 200 fights.. maybe 1000?.. number suggestions are welcome. This will cause the need to redo the side quest to obtain them again. This will also lower their auction price hopefully, because i dont want these treated as rare uniques.
Step 3: Tag dispatcher could give dedicated tags related to this and based on those tags you will be able to access blacksmith forges that allow you to convert a specific set of resources into a specific armor item. These should be related to the consume resources, something like: you mine iron ore enough, you then receive a tag dedicated to iron processing, that in turn unlockes a forge that allows you to build a certain type of armor.
Issue: how to divide them properly, is this a craft that will occupy the entire wood, metal industry, do we fit in also other resources into this and if so what numbers and what resources exactly.
Purpose that i don't want to be overlooked in whatever solution there will be:
I want involving time in a specific branch of resource processing and creating certain armor, to not be something you could "get all of it". I mean, .. i don't want you to be self sufficient and have all you need to build all the possible armors and weapons, but i want you to be able to specialize in a certain route. This will cause the need for trade, and interaction.
Issue: how to obtain that? limit given tag to one per such dispatcher so you unlock just one route? Or try to do it via efficiency cap, making the effort to do one thing keep you occupied in such a way that it will not be convenient to do them all, but more convenient to do one of them good then trade. I think the first option would work better.
Summary of intentions:
- make a subset of weapons cost percentages of your winertia
- make all items degrade during fights
- get tags via tag dispatcher based on your gathering habbits
- scholar: use tag dispatcher to give tags that grant access to specific combiners/ public mixers, limited by tag, that will give armor blueprints (tradeable items).
- blacksmith forges should public, but use armor blueprint items obtainable by locked mixers, these should turn a blueprint, some raw ingredients and lots of heat, into weapons/armor equipable items, consuming resources and blueprint items
- repair shops? trade heat and a small fraction of resources to fix degraded?
- fully degraded items should be lost, you need to go allover the process to obtain it again
- redoing the blueprint+resource process should probably be locked if you already have that item, trading blueprints should be possible so holding multiple blueprints is not a problem.
If i missed valuable ideas that could be implemented, let me know. It should be something that fits
I eliminated some of the initial ideas because they felt like overcomplicating something that would work much better if simpler.

Blackshade Rider given 10 Wishpoint reward codes for Hellhound Quest
As Blackshade is back I have given him 10 wishpoint reward codes so that he can give rewards for his permanent quest. Have you done it?
We will continue to sponsor permanent quests so if you have an idea that could work well as a permanent addition to MD let us know!
