April 25, 201214 yr Root Admin comment_109806 Currently the forum is dangerously close to the allowed limit of forum uploads. Please can you make sure all your gallery images are saved, we shall be removing random ones that shouldnt be here. Also, if you have made posts with large images that dont need to be there anymore, please consider deleting them. You can see all attachments here: http://magicduel.invisionzone.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=attachments Images and such that contribute to the topic, should stay, but anything that was time based that no longer has any importance please consider deleeting Report
July 22, 201213 yr Author Root Admin comment_117902 We are still very close to the limits, i encourage everyone to go through and delete any images that they do not need. Scanning the forum there are a number of massive files that look like avatar scans, please dont send them through the forum and delete them, send them to the artist people or via email or upload on other websites. I dont want to have to block all galleries and limit upload space massively, but if people dont remove useless images i will have to. Report
July 22, 201213 yr comment_117903 To find all your images, click your forum name in the upper right corner, and click 'My Settings'. 'Manage Attachments' is the fifth item listed on the left column of the 'My Settings' page. From there, you can view all your attachments and delete as necessary. EDIT: I just realized Chewett left a link in the original post. Maybe still useful information. Edited July 22, 201213 yr by Rumi Report
July 22, 201213 yr comment_117908 If people want to use an alternate upload site, storenow.net is the 'approved' (in that it's MD's) site, though imageshack, photobucket etc are safe (enough) sites as well. Report

August 27, 201213 yr comment_121155 Can you lock the gallery to new uploads and stick a link to storenow somewhere? Report
August 27, 201213 yr Author Root Admin comment_121158 I have currently limited forum uploads, i shall be going through some of the bigger images on the forum and replaceing them with links to storenow, however from the last time i looked it looks like large amounts of images are in PM's and hidden forums. I shall be going through and deleteing things when i have some spare time. If your image is on the forum it is of risk of being deleted. DO NOT UPLOAD .BMP images, they are massive and you should jpeg compress images... if unsure, upload anywhere else Report
August 28, 201213 yr comment_121191 What about .PNG? I think I have a mixture of PNG and jpg. Better yet, what would you call an ideal upper limit for uploaded file size? Edited August 28, 201213 yr by Rumi Report
September 11, 201213 yr Author Root Admin comment_121600 all depends on the image and the compression used "generally" PNG's are larger, but for some image types they will be smaller. I would always use jpeg to upload images as its going to be smaller 95% of the time, Report
January 1, 201313 yr Author Root Admin comment_129449 please move as many pictures offsite as possible when uploading as we are having big issues now. Report
January 3, 201313 yr comment_129543 Can images stored on another server be directly viewed on our forum or can they only be linked? Do you have a recommendation for a free storage server? Do storenow links expire eventually? I know these may be seem like silly questions, but any advice would be most welcome. My project will continue to be fairly upload intensive and I'd like to choose a simple and reliable system and stick with it. Thanks for your help. Report
January 3, 201313 yr comment_129544 Hey Rumi, Images may be both linked or shown as an image when hosting offsite, the way to link a picture would be to copy and paste the link address of whatever it is you want to link then to click the link button( its the 9th button on bottom from left when posting) add the address and it makes your link appear as a link. If you want to show an image from another hosted site use the code

I like an image hosting site named Tinypic.com, they have an option to upload pictures without the need to sign in but the image will only be hosted for a limited time, if you want images to be hosted indefinitely you would need to make an account and upload the images while singed in, Edited January 3, 201313 yr by ZenTao Report
