Despite already being logged in and online, I get a logout cooldown, as you can see:

Why not? You are trying to log in again so...

But I am already logged in, I never logged out..

Then how did you end up  on the log in page?

Oh, that happens a lot.

 

Whenever I close my browser (or maybe computer restarts?) then open MD again, I have to put in my login details but this is the first time I've experienced the login cooldown this way.

its because the logged in and the log in pages have different URLs, youre likely going to the login page when you close and reload the browser (authentication.php) instead of the login page (layout.php), the login cooldown happens when you try to log in again within 15 mins of logging in before hand, its not a bug, its you just trying to log in from the login page within 15 mins of logging in

Okay I tried to reproduce it. Apparently restarting browser leads you to layout.php (aka does not lead you to login page) which is good.

 

Now lets see what a comp restart does

This sounds like user error and not anything MD does.

We could improve auth.php to redirect to the game if logged in, but I find its much nicer for me not to.

Why not?

 

(also: comp restart also didn't take me to log in page, automatically direct into the layout.php)

Not a bug as it cant be reproduced, marked as user error until you can give me some reproducible evidence.
