Must see movies!

Featured Replies

I couldn't find a topic like this and a couple movie references have come up in MD lately that most people cheer and rant over while others are clueless about so I thought it'd be fun to have everyone throw out a few movies they think of as MUST see.

(mur asked for a big list)

The Princess Bride

The Fifth Element

The Usual Suspects

Spotlight,

a walk to remember,

Pi (old b/w movie, weird but..interesting)

- Interstellar (boring in first half , amazing outcome in the last)  -

The Devils Advocate (lovely opinion in the end)  -

V for Vendetta (bad movie, amazing idea)

- Deja Vu (best action movie involving time travel)

- The Cube (must see all 3, end of last explains the beginning of first),

'The Shawshank Redemption' however that's fairly well known

'Exam' messes with you a tad

   'A Bronx Tale'

  'Definitely, Maybe'

   'Seven Pounds',

In pursuit of happyness :D

: The dressmaker,

eXistenZ

Eraserhead

  Spirited Away (animation),

The Giver (book still preferred, but movie works quite well)

Cypher/Brainstorm,

Inception

.Ocean's Eleven,

Spy is pretty good with Jude Law

Dragon Blade with Jack Chan.

Gods of Egypt was good. DEADPOOL, -

A beautiful mind  - 300 (not because of the story but for the special effects and style)

- Sweeny Todd (love the singing)

,Idiocracy,

Fight Club

  Legend

Pulp Fiction,

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Big Fish

The Count of Monte Cristo

My Fair Lady

,Labyrinth

The Dark Crystal

I concur, sir, and would put 5th Element as my long-time #1 film  EVER.

...and also add either Labyrinth or The Dark Crystal to the list of must-sees.    I quote Keyser Söze lines irl.  :P

The trailer is not bad, I will take a deeper look out for it, Sirix!

woaaa, now i am sorry i opened this post, i am dead now, i foresee the countless hours i will spend in front of the tv "preparing" to work :))) nice

and if you like calm murder mystery movies, try "Candlestick" (looks low budget and bad, but somehow i enjoyed it, good to sleep, good plot)

@klawdees, you freak, you are the first one i hear that knows about it, too special, fried my mind a bit...paatterrrnnsss...

would be great to have the first post edited into a list of all movies or somethign similar, its nice to have a centralized list of good movies to see :P

Tonight I saw The Room for the first time and it was definitely a fun and worthwhile experience that I would do again and recommend.

Two things to keep in mind when seeing this movie

  • See it in a theater (trust me on this one)
  • Bring a lot of plastic spoons (I swear I'm not joking, you seriously will regret not doing this)
