  1. Well, I was a bit affronted to see people posting about my person being creepy to new players. I assure you MB is misleading. I wholly accept my gender; in fact, I embrace it. I was only trying to see if I could make people think I'm male. Because I'm spiffy like that. Yes, that's so.

You can ask me questions instead of someone else, say MB. I'm even higher in the head contest than him.

  2. what does it mean that you have to be online for phase 2 of the contest? sometimes i can not be online... please explain?

Good question; I intepreted that as you can't be idle and get your score updated.

  3. The ritual must have 301 VE (before any bonus VE, or your personal VE).

@Lulu, it says ritual, so it means all vit of the creatures added up. Vitality bond doesn't count.

Interesting thing is, didn't you say others used a defensive ritual of a single hollow warrior? Well, maybe they didn't have any other creatures alive.

  4. @Morgana, mmkay.

Response to new contest rules: It sounds fun that the contest will occur every month (that's how I interpreted the words), but does that also mean that there will be a contest going on at all times? Or if not, then about how long will each contest last? I assume they'd be pretty short. Well, just some questions that I came up with.

@Lulu, while it is quite a disadvantage for some people to not be able to get into Necro, there is actually a fair amount who can.. and they steal my heads fairly easily, since (as you said) I am weak with strategy. Then I go out and try to get some heads. Until I accumulate a lot, I stay outside of Necro and other people defeat my rituals quickly enough to get the few heads I have. In the end, I spend a lot of time not in Necro and don't really gather many points, unless I manage to get a lot of heads at once. At this point I don't think I'm much of a threat, since most of the people on the leaderboard can get into Necrovion. Well, it's a little bit different for those who are more accomplished.

I think later on that most people will be able to enter either Necrovion or the other place (inner Loreroot?) in mp5.

  5. One thing I might want changed is the way previous winners of the contest is shown in the progress page. It is all well and good to show that these players can't win again, but because it's always gray, we can't know if the player is offline or not even if he's in the top 10 or whatever number in which status is shown.

I believe that the majority of us should be able to tell with just the strike-out, so can it be changed to show the same colors as other players in the contest?

  6. I think she meant the part about the 2 players.. not you... because 'e v e r y b o d y' likes you...

You don't like me? It's as if I can sense some deeply sarcastic undertone in these words for some reason.. If so, I suppose I brought it on myself; I should probably say sorry because there is little chance I shall be in the top 3 by the end of the competition and then your heads will have gone to waste. But at the same time, I am glad because if I hadn't gotten those 15 heads I would not have been motivated into trying to compete, and then I wouldn't have had this much fun trying to defeat rituals (esp. w/ the new system)! So I should say thank you.

    Thank you :)

    EDIT: Forgot to say sorry.

    Sorry. :(

  7. that is completely wrong and shouldnt be done

that should disqualify the person doing that from the contest

If there aren't rules against it, I shouldn't be disqualified. I suppose you could call it a bit unfair though. If a moderator tells me not to, then I shall cease.

  8. There you go, assuming I am female.. Ah well, I suppose that's fine.

I come up with nice tactics, I do hmm? Hopefully this goes on long enough for me to have a fair advantage before the new rules come into effect (I'm assuming Manu will be "fair") and I get crushed by MB or someone alike to him.

  9. Hmm.. there was an recent anime with a similar situation called Shigofumi. I don't want to spoil it should anyone watch it, though.

Is there no way they can go forth into the world together, assuming they are split personalities? Twins are really handy in times of emotional stress. They can balance each other but it's better than having a single mind because there are two bodies! :)

  10. Hmm.. I am happy because I know that more stuff is supposed to happen now that we've finally switched to a permanent server.

But since everyone is calling it a "monster" server, I want to say that I didn't notice any speed increase.. in fact, it seemed a bit slower (before stress testing, of course). Is it just me?

Also, the stress seems like quite an overkill to me.. Player list doesn't load, and the map also takes quite a bit of time. Means I can't enjoy the temporary counter and regen values. :(

EDIT: Well, for a while that's how it seemed. Now it's really fast, faster than before the testing yesterday, when the new server was just announced.

  11. The rules for a VICTORIOUS fight are that the loser loses over 30% more vitality than you do and . . .

Well, there you go. :) It's true you both lost more than 20% vitality but there is other criteria like this for a victory.

EDIT: btw, can't help but add in that it's always a bit annoying that you can't see fight details about creature actions and the damage they when you go back to the fight log and instead have to copy and paste from the first screen..

  12. As for an article on Wikipedia: I don't know; is Wikipedia that tough? I think magicduel does have enough content (that isn't spoiler-related) to write about in an article even though we currently have a small playerbase and are still early in development. And also, is Wikipedia really unlikely to let us create an article that might serve purposes of advertisement if it's clearly objective? We could point out what players dislike about the game as compared to other games and undermine Manu's lauding praises of his own game, but at the same time still attract players just by increasing the awareness of it. :P

Well, at the same time, we would have to keep on editing it as development progresses and I'm already afraid of saying this because I know from experience some people might tell you to do something if you're in support of it (...MB <_< ).

For a wiki: I thought usually these sort of things tend to be databases of information, such as stats of creatures and equipment, or how to get a certain quest done.. which is something I get the impression Manu would not want, since he doesn't allow such information to be shown in the forum and labels them as spoilers.

Well, that's my piece of mind.. refrained from putting it when MB posted, but now that Eldrad's come along I can't help but do so.
