  1. My reply works, but I had to go back to the default skin to be able to post on the forum at all. I wonder if it is a forum problem, or if it is the version of the forum you use?

    I didn't change anything in the forum settings.

  2. I came across an error a while back that would not let me send a reply PM here on the forums. I believed it wasn't anything special, just a random error with that one person, so I ignored it. But, now it's happened again, and I discovered that I can still send a PM if I click on the person's name and respond in a new PM. I cannot use the "reply" option.

    Reporting this mostly so people who noticed the same problem have a "solution" as well as so it can be fixed if someone wants to fix it.

    I had the same problem. I wanted to reply and it told me that the "user doesn't exist".

  3. Well finally I've worked out that I can write a Bug Report if I choose the correct skin on the forum.

    Anyway My Bug is as follows.

    I listened to lots of advice last night and decided to make a number of sacrifices. The objective being to increase my max stats and also possibly get a larger than max set of values to allow me to make use of them.

    Having sacrificed my creatures you can guess my horror when I found that although I had well over my max VEI could not healmy creatures at all. In addition that little sunshine circle had a number between 2300 and 2600 inside it But despite clicking it to save 1 K of heat it would not save. I pressed F5 to refresh a number of times and also changed screens a few times. This didn't resolve the issue.

    When the regeneration finally reduced my VE to max then my creatures started to heal. Although the heat was still in excess of 2.3K and would not save 1K

    Frustrated I am. If it is something I did wrong then someone please tell me as nw I have 3 less creatures and can't buy those things I was hoping to buy!

    I'm not out for recompense, alhough if you can recreate the fault or confirm the bug it would be nice, I just want to highlight a possible bug.

    No, as far as I can tell you aren't doing anything wrong. It does sound strange.

  4. WoW! What a wonderful idea. I would support this wholeheartedly. However, I am not certain if the combat engine has the ability to distinguish between "combat" intended to heal, and "combat" intended to harm. I certainly have seen no such ability as an MP3. Comments by higher level players suggest to me that the combat engine can make some broad classifications of combat, but I'm not certain it is capable (at this time) of supporting a healing only region.

    On the other hand... It would be nice to be able to enter a temple and know that I can safely perform healing rituals there.

    I have no idea how programming works or what the engine is like, but I'm guessing that creating a safe haven for healing rituals would also be difficult. Probably you could do something like form a pact with several players to make that area your healing place, and spread the words to others who use healing rituals. Say a player attacks after being warned that it would convenience players: all the players who wish to discourage such activity can band up and give retribution.

    I'm thinking there should be a such a designated area for regen rituals to lose exp..

    Well it doesn't necessarily have to be a safe place like a sanctuary, but maybe just an agreement among players to go there if you want healing rituals, and just abide by it. Kine of like people not attacking each other in Wodins area.

    I can't see the lights. I can see that things are being "shot off" like rockets, but I don't see colours or lights or anything. And it's not FF3, because I can't see it in IE ether.

    However, the current system actively rewards those people with a high loss counter.

    They're not even trying to recover, because by staying at a high loss counter makes it easier to gain honor.

    The game urges you to have a balanced win/loss ratio, but the system encourages having far more losses then wins.

    A player can't possibly stay balanced in this system, because he'll fall to negative honor, which will prevent him from attacking anyone who doesn't give positive honor.

    And since he's balanced, he won't find anyone giving him positive honor and will have to start gathering losses.

    Exactly, that was my point. But what you proposed doesn't change that.

    That just reminds me of something. Apparently wins that are "gray" don't count for the balance? That's also something that makes it really difficult to stay balanced.

    You don't gain honor from fighting people with more losses then wins.

    You gain honor from fighting people with a larger difference between their wins and losses then your difference.

    So if you have a huge amount of losses, you'll start losing honor, and if yo have a huge amount of wins you'll start losing honor, but if they're balanced you'll be gaining honor against both the people with lots of losses AND people with lots of wins

    I'll admit that my idea is flawed, and that people with a lot of losses will have a hard time getting back to balance, since they'll start losing honor, but the current system is completely broken, and SOMETHING needs to be changed

    Because of the following:

    1. Most people are imbalanced because of a higher amount of losses than wins, not vice versa (I still have yet to see someone complain about having too many wins)

    2. By promoting attacking people with such a high imbalance (and such a high amount of losses) and beating them (because that's ultimately why we attack, or not? otherwise no honor gain) you support said imbalance. The reason for gaining negative honour was to help them recover, by discouraging people from attacking them. Now if people gain honour because they are imbalanced, then they never have a chance to recover.

    3. aannd... I forgot my third point. I'll edit this when I remember.

  8. I tried MD in FF3, and it's really bad x_x; Almost nothing loads except the chatbox and playerlist, and popups repeatedly appear. However, I've heard that others can use FF3 without any problem.

    I would guess that's not related to yours, though? Doesn't sound like the same thing, except you have one popup when you start.

    Popups? Er... no I never have any problem. That one pop is the only thing I get, and that only since 3 days ago or so. Never had an issue before. Tempted to close and reopen to post a screenshot.

    Can we post screenshots? I don't even know. I have it ready in case anyone is curious..

  9. After actually reading the thread (yes I am bad..), I second the motion for a template or some sort.

    Trying to find MP4's is impossible, and just spamming one ritual also doesn't make sense, especially when you are trying to upgrade creatures, which then automatically ruins the ritual (as the creature that you bound it to technically doesn't exist anymore)

  10. I was not able to see the 'light show' at Angien's Ferry in Firefox. I could see it in IE though. This could be an indication of flash effect compatibility issues with the game in Firefox.

    That reminds me of this window that appears everytime I start Magic Duel in FF. Not sure if it has to do with FF but anyway..

    It's a window with some code error, I never really read it, but it blockes the whole screen and has appeared every time the past few days.

  11. Im' thinking maybe something like a losing limit per day. I mean, from being attacked. If you attack and lose, well, tough luck.

    But let's say for example you log out in front of the shop, and several people attack you causing you to gain 30 losses rapidly, one it hits 30, you can't be attacked for that day. You can only attack.

    But then again, I guess it would be an unfair advantage as well.

  12. Players will gain honor when fighting someone with a higher imbalance stat, and lose honor against payers with lower imbalance.

    Thus, the closer you are to being balanced, the easier it is to gain honor

    Wait, if they gain honor fighting someone that is imbalanced, that is players having more losses than wins, wouldn't it just promote having more losses? Because in the end, you fight to win, causing players that are already imbalanced to only become more imbalanced. How is that fixing anything?

  13. I was wondering, what about if we designated an area for healing rituals? It would make it easier to find people that also need them, instead of running around everywhere trying to find anyone. (Especially difficult for MP4, which seem to be a very rare breed)

    From what I have read so far he doesn't really use overly complicated vocabulary. Most of his mistakes are spelling or basic grammar mistakes, those are easily caught.

Well, I've been thinking.. the spelling and grammar errors do make a negative impact on beginning players, or at least that's the conclusion I draw from my own experience (trying to recruit adepts/encountering newbies with complaint). It'll have to be done eventually, and with the above in mind, it might be better if this correcting was done sooner rather than later. It seems like Manu doesn't have anyone he can trust with access to the codes, so I suppose it would have to be done the labor-intensive way.

    Just a suggestion.

    It could seriously be done while writing the original: write it in word, set the language to English, have the program correct grammar and spelling for you and just copy and paste it in the text.

  18. Maybe it's just me being a grammar Nazi right now, but I have noticed quite a few spelling mistakes here and there, especially in the Storyline posts.

    (If there is a topic that already talks about this, please refer me. I have done a search but came up with nothing.)

    Maybe it would be nice if someone read over and checked the different parts of the story, to edit end improve (only grammar and spelling) before actually posting it?

  19. One of the things which i didnt like at first was once i reach max xp, i gain nothing for my creatures, except age, evan worse was no VP from battleing.

    But its how this game works deal with it really. If you was able to become a god MP3 it would be pointless advancing you would stay MP3 for ever.

    And to have max xp in 65 wins is rather amazing, you must have a powerfull army, i mean wow 200,000 creature xp minimum - 65 wins = 3000 per win. 500 xp per creature per fight.

    May i suggest not always attacking powerfull people to get wins / honor, personally i found myself killing people for -1 honor, and they only had 30 creature vitality, thus getting a win for my creatures, and only getting around 100xp from the fight.

    To say to just deal with how the game works kind of defeats the purpose of asking for and proposing changes, isn't it? I am also for changing how the MP3 fights/xp count works.

    It's my first time playing this game, and I ended up reaching max XP at 80/86 or something along those lines. It's not only frustrating to realize your wins don't count for your creatures anymore, but also hindering later on in the game. Now that I am MP4, lots of my creatures only need more battles won to be upgraded, but given that I never managed to upgrade a lot of them in the first place, because of the lack of being able to get those wins in MP3, I have a fairly weak army, and so far have yet to win a single fight in MP4.

    It's not only a matter of wanting to build a powerful army, it's also just playing the game. For me it is practically impossible right now to find an MP4 that doesn't have tons of strong creatures, high stats and great items and on top of that *doesn't* give me 650 negative honor if I do manage to beat him.
