1. But I myself am a gold medal winner and do not feel the contest has been cheapened by anything but cheating. I salute Aia for taking my advice: she was tempted to use the offline attack bug - it's no secret, you know - in retaliation against Liberty, but I encouraged her to take the "high road" and not stoop to his level. You wish to compete again: well, I am sorry you feel cheated, but the word of Muratus is good enough for me. I am one of the apparently few former winners who will NOT go to any lengths to prevent others from picking up second medals, and did my utmost to frustrate the attempts of those who, in my view, were bad sports about Aia's very strong second showing and went to the most ludicrous lengths, including cowering atop the Paper Cabin and cycling the portal to keep others from getting up there, to try to stop her. She very nearly claimed first again anyway, as she is intelligent and a superb duelist. I appreciate skill. I honour maturity. I would like to see those who are skilled putting their skills to constructive purpose rather than complaining ad nauseam about their inability to repeat the joys of a contest that is fun mainly for the elite. You are a strong fighter, Lifeline, and you seem a decent fellow. Does this contest really mean so much to you?
2.
what happened in this headcontest just had to happen. everybody who loves the headcontest and cant particpate again got really punished by last winners being able to win again. of course mp3 and mp4 winner would surely win again. and seeing that, old winners would for sure try to stop aia from winning again.
Nonsense. I took first, largely on mine own and with help from the incompetence of a certain interfering MP6 with nothing to gain. Those who harbour some kind of deep resentment against Aia should confess their real problem, which doth seem to me to be largely one of petulance.
3. BlackThorn speaketh the truth. Raven hath my sworn fealty. Kragel, honoured metal mage, I have some experience of despotism and democracy and all points between. Tyranny shared among many were still tyranny, though perchance cloak'd in a guise more pleasant to the lowly born. I want none of democracy, nor yet *spits* of republicanism: give me a tyrant to serve, any day of the week. All Hail the Archon Raven!
4. I agree wholeheartedly, especially with regard to labeling the sorting cloud images.
5. This quest shows a lot of promise. I would like to be counted among those supporting its continuation.
6.
I'd not only say that fighting is not a negative thing, i'd even go as far as claiming that duelling and roleplaying are completely unlinked at this point in time. There may have been a time, long ago, when roleplaying and fighting were deeply bound together, like GGs who kill Necros and vice-versa, and Lores who don't attack if they are not attacked, but imo, that time has long since faded. Today, we roleplay, chat and have fun at willows, and still attack anything alive there... it's even common to attack exactly the person you are talking to, and i like it that way =)
This is a crime. There is a system of fighting in place, and it is not used?
Of course there are other places for RPing where fighting is prohibited, like windy's pub in the sanctuary, where those who are down and don't need more losses gather to have some fun time, too, but i have to give in that that's just not my world in there... strange things are going on there :/
And this is precisely the problem. Asterisk-happy "roleplayers" edge out the systemic fighters with their silliness. It is time for a new kind of quest, one that integrates the existing system with, you guessed it, roleplaying. ...because this is, after all, a roleplaying game. Keep your eyes open. BlackThorn's quest for Nature's sword is one approach, and I shall soon initiate another. May the Goddess bless and keep you, always.
7. Happy birthday, indeed, and many thanks for all you have done. Irene put it very well: none of us is the same since we have encountered MagicDuel.

Names....
might be a stupid question, but why did you leave out the second 'i' in your names ingmae and on the forum? i wondered about that since i heard about lucius tarquinius in latin lessons^^
It is not at all a stupid question, but a good one. My reasoning is as follows: the second 'i' causes emphasis to fall on the second syllable of my surname (tar*QUIN*i*us), but the emphasis in my native language of Rasni, or Etruscan, falls on the first syllable (TAR*quin*us, syncopated to TARK*nas). By a strange coincidence, the emphasis on the English form of the name (Tarquin) is the same. edit: Also, my ancient slaves, the Latians or Latins, were always throwing extra 'i' characters in words for no good reason, and the practise has irritated me for hundreds of years. My first name is Loukas, not Lucius, but I use Lucius because it is familiar and comforting to my friends. Milady Isolda, a distinguished Amazon, correctly points out that a more accurate transliteration into English is 'Lucas,' by which she and Ailith call me. I have also learnt the name often passes into English as 'Luke.' Those who know me understand that I respond to almost anything, but that I somewhat dislike the truncation 'Tarq.' Well: it is not the worst thing to have happened to me, by my troth.
9. Respectful, open-minded, and friendly. A welcome addition.

10. Tarquinus

Names....

As some of you know, I, Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, am an historical character. The things said by the Iunius family about my son and me are lies. I use a variant spelling of my surname because I can. Lucius is not my name, anyway, but a Latinisation of it; my name is Loukas, often transliterated Lucas or Luke.
11. I, Lucius Tarquinus Superbus, offer my blade and my cunning. Though I am not quite so mighty as Cless or Lightsage, I am no weakling in battle. I am nearly without fear. Mine Intended, the Priestess Aia del Mana, hath volunteered for this quest. Wheresoever she goeth, I am bound to follow.
12.
P.S. Just don't stalk me. I tend to do bad things sometimes and I don't want witnesses.
This is what is sometimes called "a clear invitation to the dance."
13. I actually liked your quest Chewett, quite a lot, for the simple reason that it had something to do with the world of MagicDuel. It's fine for quests to be entertaining - a quest should be entertaining - but cryptography gets old for people like me, quickly, and very few of the quests I've seen have anything to do with the rich MagicDuel setting, the events in the game, or the combat system. I do think the quester balloons don't serve the intended purpose, but seem to be a popularity contest. I received over 70 votes before my quests had even been posted. I am pleased that a majority of the voters voted for rather than against me, but the vote count is not at all reliable as an evaluation of my skill at writing entertaining quests. I echo Cryxus in hoping that quest-creation is not the only barometer for fitness as PWR and RPC; my personal role-model in this regard is Khalazdad, who does more to advance the story of the game than dozens of other players combined.

15.
How, exactly, would we show support? Speaking of him? Simply standing and talking at the aformentioned Gates? If we choose to speak of him in other places, with the effect be diminished or unrecognized?
Showing support is not what is needed. Speaking of him is what is needed. It matters not, truly, whether the speaking occurs at the Howling Gates or in Marind's bathtub.
16. Happy birthday, noble Je Suis Oeufs Fous.
17. Enjoyment is frowned upon.
18.
This is the same for those who believe their side is just and rightly so, making them quite pedantic...
Illuminating as ever, insane metallic rabbit golem. "Those who believe their side is just and rightly so" have been labouring to achieve recognition for months. This festival generated a lot of attention to us, most of it favourable. Is it not pedantic to make a hit-and-run post without considering what is being said? Who is speaking without reflection, I wonder?
19. No, but you are not hurting the opponents' quotient of delusional and irritating.
20. I would like to thank all those who came out to speak, listen, and celebrate with us. From our perspective, the festival was a great success. :good:
21. One of my favorite "new" characters in the game. Psycho.

22. Excellent. We look forward to seeing you.
23. We would be honoured to have you.
24. We are most excited about the coming Lunar Festival, and quite honoured by the acceptance of the aforementioned. We shall post times as soon as we are able!
25.
Hum, wait; the children of the eclipse came from the MD moon that disappeared?
No, but the idea is, as my inhabiting spirit is wont to say, "beyond awesome."
