If men want to oppose war, it is statism that they must oppose. So long as they hold the tribal notion that the individual is sacrificial fodder for the collective, that some men have the right to rule others by force, and that some (any) alleged “good” can justify it—there can be no peace within a nation and no peace among nations.

I disagree with the statement, that's not the root of the problem. You would remove one problem to get another. You can't erase conflicts by erasing states.

What about if women want to oppose war? :P

I guess if they would bribe the men with some girl wrestling competition... The world would stop making wars.

Ayn Rand "The notion that 'Anything society does is rightbecause society chose to do it,' is not a moralprinciple, but a negation of moral principles and thebanishment of morality from social issues."
-
Rand is a tool (I mean that in a pejorative and literal sense). The greed of the powerful is never sated, and all along their crusade they get richer while everyone else gets poorer. Gotta love the 'free market.'

Say what you will of Rand, the quote can stand alone. It's a bit like the "is atheism a religion" debate in that its truth value hinges on the definition of "moral principle"/"religion".
In this case, if you hold that society *is* capable of determining the nature of moral principles, then the quote is false.
