1. I need a couple of players to help me reaching newbs. Any volunteers?
  2. MEGA SUMMARY: Sasha Lilias:

She suggests a short tutorial, but with continuity (Running tutorial). Basically an initial tutorial teaching basics and later on as you progress in game, small tips/guides/tutorials on the needed feature.
BFH USE: -Token (use on later stage or as player progress) Gonzalo:

He agrees with total change idea. He suggests a tutorial with Players interaction and not that many text/instructions.
Burns:

He suggests a drastic new system:

Lock New players at the park in an MP2 protected status (Not attackable).

That way they see chat, players, and get involved easier.

They get to fight three bots:

First: will have a predefined ritual against a weak bot.

Second: players will have to create a ritual (guided by small instructions, minor ones) with a predefined list of creatures and they will face a bot not that easy, but still not that hard

Third: player will have to create a ritual (alone) with a predefined list of creatures with tokens and fight a bot.

For all fights he propose (at least this is what I get):

Showing small and simple basics:

+ This is your creature.

+ ETC

Small summarized log stating:

+ This is your creature

+ This is the damage done by it

+ This is the damage taken

He suggest the following changes to actual tutorial:

Skip map search, give a portable one by default.
Skip land guardian and send back to Paper Cabin.
Make shades a real fight. If the newb lose he loses, not make them easy by default.

He says Story would need a redesign and the fighting system animations should be incremented and fixed.
MP2 part would go before story.
BFH USE: YOU LOSE – YOU WIN
Maebius:

Keep tokens for a later stage after some combat experience
He likes the fast introduction to fight.
He worries about tokens and monetizing the game.
Valldore Nal:

Suggests two different tutorials. One for mp3 and one for mp4/5.
He believes token concept should be included later on the game maybe on mp4/5 tutorial.
Dante Lionheart:

Principles confused him badly when he started the game.
He expresses he chosen based on intuition because tutorial was designed wrongly.
Also waiting intervals: He told he took 24hrs fearing penalizations.
Dark Demon:

He likes Burns Mp2 idea and he says there can be even another story mode (apart for an mp3)
Z:

He dislikes the clicking and go back.
He dislikes the need of LHO’s writing instructions in chat.
He likes Shade Ambush.
Darkraptor:

Fight Logs redesign to images. That way the players understand better how system works.
Tokens inclusion suggestion with minor stats.
He feels there should be equity. MY OWN COMMENT: Changes are needed, we need to fix problems and MD will develop as players/time passes. Unfortunately a full Equity is hard to get.
JD:

He says tutorial should state new player that tutorial is necessary.
Story not optional.
MRAlyon:

Full explanation of what interface tools means, included on tutorial.
PoE:

Story grammar fix. Speak with Grido. He can fix that.
Rumi:

Wants story mode to be included, not to be alternative.
Grido:

Tokens aren’t necessary.
Shantu:

Story not optional.
Liberty:

I’m confused with his post. I need to contact him for clarification.
Falronn:

Story not optional.
Likes the prestory mode idea
Tom Pouce:

Tokens not necessary, but good if added.
Suggest inner magic inclusion and stats rewarding
Menhir:

Story not optional.
Elimination of time waiting to raise skills.
Guide players through basics on 25 mins: “Basics are fighting, skills, chat, player constructed quests, changing game"play" through community communication.”
Story is too long and makes people leave.
Allow reread of the options you chosen
Allow every newb to choose one free avatar at the beginning.
Note: I'm following Chew's suggestion and I'm sending some messages to new. I want to know what they like and dislike. NOTE: As mentioned. This effort is to restructure the tutorial NOT the story. Council can read this and If they feel it ok to allow fixing or changing any story aspect they can state it here or contact me/Chew My opinion: is that if story is not to be fixed it Should be optional. Why? It's what causes problems now. So it's stupid to fix initial part of tutorial and simply lead them to the biggest problem. The filters. So I'll post soon the replies I get from newbs. Also I'll post another "fixed option" for tutorial after I receive newbs feedback. For now keep up the discussion.
  3.
The most popular option is not nesscarily the correct one? Im sure most people would love a morph or twelve, but giving everyone them isnt a good idea.
That's true. So what can we do Chew? I'll follow this post with a total general summary of all the discussions. It should be up in the following hours.
  4. You have until tomorrow to state any other options to be added to poll. I'll start it based on every argument you all posted, to allow a correct voting. So if you really want your point to be counted, there's very little time left. After poll and the final, we will base tutorial on the winning options. With a total story included or with one optional. With tokens or without them. With whatever comes to place. B OHH BTW: I'll interview few newbs soon
  5. Indeed. For grammar mistakes contact Grido. Okay to have a general input of what people wants, since there are different sides of opinions, I'll open polls soon on the following: + Story optional or not + Tokens inclusion on which MP Any other thing you guys feel needs to pass poll to start reorganizing ideas? I'll leave some hours for suggestions.
  6. Peace you dear... Happy BIRTHDAYYYYYYYYYY!!
  7. Please keep up the suggestions. I'll start developing summaries of all of your ideas and until we have a structured plan.
  8. Ohh also the interface of clicking one arrow then get back is boring as hell that should be eliminated
Is it possible to make 2 tutorials ? One that will run when someone starts the game (mp3) and the second tutorial for when he/she passes to mp4 (maybe introducing tokens there? ) I agree that tokens shouldn't be the included in the first interaction experience someone has to the realm, give some time to "absorb" the first concepts. (especially if the plan is to use a variety of creatures for the introductory combats, the new player will have quite a few things to read and learn about )
I guess mp4/mp5 part needs to be dealt here as well So yes any suggestions are open.
  9.
If you want to go for such a drastic change, it should probably be more like MP2. Lock them up in Marble Dale park as MP2 without the option to attack anybody or be attacked by anybody and set up some demo dummies, they get to see chat and get to talk to people and learn one thing about the system at a time. First dummy, they get a predefined rit against a weak dummy, second dummy, they must create a rit from a predefined list, third dummy, they get a rit with a few tokens. It doesn't need to be a normal combat, just a set up log they need to watch. Like, this is your creature, this is his creature, this is the damage done, this is damage taken, setting up a rit works like this, oh look there, the token made it deal 150 more damage than usual. I think the current intro pages are perfectly fine, just a little too much reading and too little doing. If we take what's written there and mash it up into a learning by doing interface, it'd work much better for most people. Like, you surely know those little puzzle flashgames they create for smartphones these days? They never make you read anything, the first level is just telling you exactly what to do: Put the bomb in the glowing ring, then push FIRE for it to go off, make sure to kill all vikings with as little bombs as possible. Then they get to the old tutorial with a few tweaks, the welcome pages get cut a little because they already did all that, and the story gets adjusted a little: (taken from LHO subforum, wrote it this morning in catchwords) Prologue: '"This is as far as you should go, at least for now. Even though you saw the Map of the Realm, after moving this far into the No Man's Land, it does not do you any good. You should return to the Paper Cabin and search for a copy of the Map of the Realm. This way, you will never get lost and you will be saved of a lot of coming and going to the Paper Cabin. "' Skip this bit, give portable map one step earlier Generally give the scroll and map from touching the big scroll and the big map, they are copied for you anyway. '"Well, your first encounter with one of the many creatures of MagicDuel was not as pleasant as anybody would have hoped for. However, you can still surpass that ferocious obstacle, if you manage to find some help. There might be a few creatures willing to help you, in the furthest Southern end of the Realm. Consult your Map and explore that region."' Skip that, the land guardian doesn't do anything anyway. ' "Now it is time to return to the Land Guardian. However, once you have a creature bound to yourself, you begin to attract other creatures which desire only to devour your vitality."' Change to paper cabin instead of land guardian Maybe my fault, but i have to click all shades after they are dead before they vanish. not good. Shade IV defeats you without battle, stupid. NEwbie boost destroyed their purpose already, but you should LOSE when you lose. The whole prologue works on keys anyways, give that one two keys, first fight impossible, second cheap as always. Make the popup tell that you should get a second creature or something to beat it. Shade IV should be attackable without going back to old mand road when you heal your aramor. Maybe funny coincidence, but liquid shade (wall) used only weaken, didn't even try to beat me If you pick waiting, bring out popup that tells the patience line from the welcome screen again Also pointer to the top line, specially forums and free credits.
I like dummies part. But do you think tutorial should include a forced story? That's what I think it's the major problem now. I think we can make them something to choose principles apart of story and make story optional. That way we increase the amount of players that stay.
  10. Edit: Council says the community can choose whether they want or not tokens on tutorial. I quote "To be clear, tokens are part of Magic Duel now and the tutorial should therefore have some part in which the new player learns about them somehow." and quote again "we suggested the combat sequence should be updated with things like tokens." You guys decide
  11.
Just a quick point: You don't want to create a tutorial that is too complicated or long. When explaining a new concept, you can't go through all of it in one go. You need to give the person time to process it all. So perhaps a tutorial that follows your progress in game and tells you information when needed? Also, the longer the tutorial or introduction, the quicker the player is likely to become bored. Those are all I'd say to look out for.. ~Sasha
Indeed. Idea is to make a short tutorial. Without skipping concepts and introducing tokens one. (Note tokens part is a SUGGESTION from Council. They feel tokens are integral part of MD and that they should be included.) Feel free to improve my suggestions or post yours Edit: Council says the community can choose whether they want or not tokens on tutorial. I quote "To be clear, tokens are part of Magic Duel now and the tutorial should therefore have some part in which the new player learns about them somehow." and quote again "we suggested the combat sequence should be updated with things like tokens."
  12. The following project will change the way we discover MagicDuel, the way new players realize what are the features they can expect from MD, and the way they learn about them. This project becomes decisive at the moment of a new player to make an important decision: Stay or Leave. Council gives me the approval to start this and they want Chewett and Me to lead the effort and we will be doing so. With your opinions, options, views, and solutions we will develop a Main plan that later on will be implemented as MagicDuel’s new tutorial. This effort is of all and therefore the Council, Chewett, and me would like to hear everything you would like to be changed and why. So for example, you can post problems, possible solutions, new ideas, etc. Most important you can comment on other suggestions or even improve them I’ll start with my own suggestions:

Start tutorial with a battle which should include:

Similar Interface explaining step by step:

How to set a ritual: For this we can give them a group of creatures from where to pick.
We should include a new interface which allows them to give tokens to those creatures. It should explain what tokens are and how they help.
Immediately when they click any token they choose, system should show them an interface explaining the relationship between token and principles and allowing them to choose a couple of principles.
After principles selection and tokens selection. The battle begins. This shouldn’t be an easy battle since they have tokens and whatever. Should be a decent one.
Still undecided aspect: If they lose should they repeat battle?
After Battle, interface should be explained fast and they should recruit their first creatures.
2. Interface explanation:

There should be a next stage after battle explaining fast how the interface works.
Note I think the interface explanation can be done in front of Aramory. (Note: Check my suggestions on story mode).
3. Creature recruitment:

Since they are in front of Aramory they should enter and recruit at least 3 creatures.
Note: They should be forced to choose variety. (Ex: not all barrens XD)
After recruitment a new battle should unlock, but this time they will choose their own creatures.
Token selection should happen. System should at least give them 2-3 free tokens.
4. After this battle a very important stage must happen: “Player vs Player” Fights.

For this they should be ported to Marble Dale Park
System should pick a similar opponent to them and guide him/her to start a fight with that player.
This should include the concept of healing their creats.
I think that system should at least guide them to fight with 2-3 players.
5. After PvP fights they are free of tutorial. They can be suggested to start an alternative story mode if they want more principles. (Story Mode can be unlocked at the PC normally, but interface explanation and creature recruitment process of story should be fixed, since they were already introduced to those concepts. Why story should be alternative?

It is one of the causes that make us lose that many players. It takes long to complete.
Story should not be totally removed since it’s important part of MD, hence the need of making it alternative.
Story can take them hours to complete (if they really read) and that is NOT, EVER, NEVER good at the moment of any player to start a game.
It has many traffic consequences that I won’t enter in details but are obvious. In other words: the longer they wait to experiment the real game, the more they will leave. Story is not the real game.
Why I believe my idea can work?

It exposes the players to the real game fast.
It starts out by intriguing them with a fight, which makes them eager to see what else they can expect. Right now they are introduced to a bunch of boring steps.
MD needs players and I’m focusing on the aspect of keeping players.
Other things that will have to be done included in my idea:

Story Mode flaws fix:

Parts of story can be skipped hence that means broken story mode.
Principles selection can be skipped. That needs to be fixed.
Spelling errors fix.
2. LHO system implementation

Grido have a very good idea for that. I guess this can be done at the same time since LHO’s are essential at the moment of answering newbs questions. The fastest a player gets an answer the better.
So that’s my idea. Now it’s your turn to comment, post yours, etc.
  13.
finally... I've been searching for this since I first made this thread... *drumroll* introducing the graph that made me worry : I'm not exactly sure, but graphical analysis and logical thinking lead the consensus that this isn't just 'temporary' in 1 year, MD lost 75% of it's incoming 'hits'... and now, so I don't get shouted at for only complaining, I have tried to think of what to do... for one, I thought of making a referral contest, ie, he who refers the most (it would be obvious, an adept at a young age can only be referred) and the referred characters last over 15 days, wins. But I quickly found that silly and discarded it... I also thought of something else, and better, but for this, I require resources I don't have... to regulate and fix our 'change' it would be good enough if we simply made sure the MP3s stay here... how? well, we should monitor their progress, and see at which stage they quit, allow me to exemplify : first off, we check the number of unique visitors to the site that aren't already player (shouldn't be too hard). we see how much of them actually sign up, as opposed to not. if about 99% sign up, well then, that's great! If about 30% sign up, then we have to make the front page more attractive. problem found. suppose 99% signed up. We check the how much quit right when they see all that reading (it happens) again, if the percentage is high, we have something wrong here to fix, we continue all the time, creature acquiring, fighting, story mode and we see, which part of the tutorial scares people away. I'll be generous and say 70% of all people finish the tutorial and stick around... we should know how much time they spent there, and on their time, we can deduce what they did/didn't do... a mean & median for player's ages will also help a lot... also, for the places we can't really know for sure, a simple pop up should appear for player when he tries to close the window if he is below 5 active days, and asks him if he wants to leave for good or not, if he/she replies 'for good' then we ask why, not in the way of a text box,but rather, buttons, and we only input options he's seen so far for example if he quits before story mode it would be something like 'the battle system is too boring' 'the graphics are horrible' 'the gameplay so far is really stupid' and ofcourse 'other' and then, we do what facebook does to those who are trying to deactivate their account. Whichever option they pick, we tell them why that's NOT true, like 'the battle system is too boring' reply 'if it seems too boring for you, then maybe you have yet to find the creatures which will make it better, or have yet to understand it. Give it some time, and you might like it' then two options 'stay' and 'still leave'... and one final thing, for those that make it out of the tutorial, an automatically generated random message, but from a player should be sent to the new guys, one like this : hello, [name], and Welcome to MagicDuel! in MagicDuel, you'll find all sorts of activities, so whatever you're like, you'll enjoy it.. There's fighting.... would you like to try and battle everyone, and become the supremem and ultimate player? in our system, even the new player can beat the old one if he thinks well enough... There's role playing... are you creative and would like to show the world how unique you are? magicduel allows you to build your character whichever way you want and then involve him in situations with others just like you! There are no restrictions! you be anything, and do anything! There's questing... do you like to think and be mentally challenged? do you like to solve things? magicduel is full of quests! anywhere you look, you'll find things that need solving. I recommend [some tutorial quest starts go here] There's learning... if you like to uncover secrets and mysteries, and like to learn about the past and start of this world, then you can too!! But first off, before you can fight like a pro, you need more creatures... before you can role-play, you need a more suitable position... before you can quest, you have to find them... before you can learn, you have to find hints... you can do all that by exploring! so what are you waiting for? Go explore MD, and show it who you are!! I don't mean to use this, I just mean like it'll help people know what to start doing...
Stats.. Lets see I'm aware of every single stat of MD since its creation. Referral contests. Easy and yet hard. Mur and I planned one like lets some months ago. But then I discovered some abuses on a project we started in which we gave away items for some top lists in exchange from gold. If MD community abused that they will abuse referrals, because for someone with knowledge it's extremely easier, for me it would be VERY VERY easy. Still I'm not saying it can't happen since I should have the plans of it somewhere, but surely will happen after tutorial get fixed. (Problem will be finding them on my pc A little fact for those who asked me over time: Lets say I can bring 20k traffic to MD in just one hour. But... the real question is will it help. Not at all, non quality traffic gets penalized by organic and I won't enter in details of what's organic and such. So at the end it's very bad. Google Penguin killed many many sites MD survived because a it was backlinked with quality sites. Now speaking of intros, tutorial, or any messages. I'm just waiting for a council answer to start a project related with it. Do not worry that much, soon your options and opinions might become reality.
  14.
rhetoric question. Are the council members real players? from what I gather, they're not... so is it really in our best interest? would an African gouvernment successfully rule an American populous? no, they just don't understand them, same thing if you switch it... (not that I'm showing racism, I'm just supposing, that an African gouvernment, with all the poverty in it's country isn't used to being technologically advanced. I'm not showing racism, it's just reality.)
I don't think people are stupid enough to think they aren't players. You really think any external person can understand MD world and such things without been players... If you believe that.. Too disappointing...
agreed. things will take time to be done right. If they could be done faster, it'd be better though... but don't forget that one person deciding and implementing will be faster when it comes to decisions, BUT he/she will have more mistakes (ie, he'll probably implement a bad idea) but if he's 'one of our own' ie, like Mur was, the chances of a bad idea will go down dramatically... now with the council, many people arguing, it'll take more time to reach a consensus.
Mur left many unfinished things, he was one and like me on other sites, he just couldn't do all. Hence the need of a group, they might be slow, but at least do things fully.
but the reward has to be worth the quest, and such quests are usually also only restricted to a specific set of people, making the rich richer, and poor poorer.
This is a lie. Anyone can make a worth quest. I guess you guys aren't having enough enthusiasm participating in them or creating them. On my quests there are players from all stages who won them.
actually, if you think about it a bit, it'll be an incentive for new MP3s to understand and discover the secrets of MD. ofcourse, there are those overpowered MP3s that we still have to deal with...
Spoilers shouldn;t be the option. Never ever. There are other ways to make them learn. Many ways.
did we really build the boredom BFH? If you make a party and only two people show up, it's not really your fault is it? but ofcourse, we're still trying to make it better... everyone's trying
If I make a party and I organize it correctly it will be successful. If I organize a party without considering all aspects it won't be successful. Boredom is our fault. There are still ingame concepts that needs to be changed for more an "open" game. But still, it's our fault.
oh, and about Eon, I was just quoting what he said about MD losing it's flavor... will we all end up like that? and I don't mean out of boredom, but rather out of animosity that things have changed...
Eon is asking for someone to challenge him That will be fun
you don't like reading so I'll keep this brief. where was the place you trained in when you were MP3? I mean, most of the time the subtitle of the scene, for crying out loud, is 'the sparring grounds' why would no sparring be taking place? plus, the GoE was full... but only one MP3 was there... me... *shrugs* I dunno, just doesn't seem right
As mp3.. lets see I trained on 3 places. Sparrings, GoE, & GGG. Answer to why there aren't many mp3s out there points to other problems which are still being solved/fixed, but this shouldn't affect
Change happens. Nothing stays the same indefinitely. I think you have taken this quite a bit too strongly, and need to realise that although it is empty now, it will fill up once more when people choose for it to do so. ~Sasha
AGREE
  15. Wohoohoy!! Congratz Sasha!!
  16.
the point isn't WHO left the game, but rather how much... also, and this I'm not exactly sure about but from what I've heard, Mur is on a 'break' well deserved in my opinion, and ofcourse, we can't expect him to tie his life on MD for us, but did he give the council authority over all matters MD? I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I don't know if it is or isn't, but it's one of those changes that actually changes nothing, but changes a lot.
Council is a group. They need to take decisions based on overal agreement. Why this is needed? SImple more heads think better than one. If one takes a decision he/she might forget any aspect which can lead to future errors/bugs/abuses. So I think it's good they do thinks as a group and well I think that such agreements take time. So we just have to have patience.
burns, chew, dst, you've all been here for some time, and I don't think you'll leave anytime soon, but tell me, change is inevitable, I know, and we all agree here, that almost all changes Mur makes are for the best of MD, even if we don't see it that way, but I'm somewhat having a hard time understanding some of them, eventhought it might not be my right to 'question the system'
Md is developing every day. There are things out there that as you point we don't see. I'm sure MD coders are flooded with work. You have to have in mind that most of the feautures developed in MD requires a "hidden" part to ensure it's safe and not abuse enabled. A full feauture won't be developed on a single day. There are many aspects to cover and we can't expect MD Staff to sort them out that fast. At least it's how I see that.
for example, I know that smartAlekRJ used to be drachorn master, and he used to reward drachorns for quests... right now, they cost a fortune to get one, 16 gold and up.
Smarty abused his role. Many do. People can get drachs as rewards for quests. Any quester can. MD provided many posibilities people aren't using. Just to mention two ways they can reach such rewards:

Contact the TK's
Contact Council
Contact any LHO/Vets who will point you to the right persons for such (probably last two mentioned)
So basically there aren't any excuses for not having anything as rewards.
angiens, eventhough less rare, are a dream for most MP3s... and the annoying this about it is this : they cost a lot of AP to level up and become useful.. that was good! it taught people patience! right now, almost all angiens are old enough to be directly upgraded, but here's the catch, not anyone can get them, oh no... you have to buy them I say angiens are less rare because I've seen many people give them out for quests, Maebius for instance, buys all the ones he can find and gives them all out, sponsoring them, but is there no way a person can get them himself anymore? the closing of the angien's shrine, I might agree with (eventhough I don't know why), and I will agree with. (maybe it was abused? I trust Mur) but the drach lair is closed only because no master appeared or since the old one didn't leave the key, or or or...
Angiens are still recruitable, but guess what, abuses make them hard to get. MD will evolve based on player actions. I believe (personal opinion) angiens shouldn't be creats for mp3s. Reality is they are. The ap requirements can be beaten, any player with the correct knowledge can use the tools outher to reach enough amounts of ap to upgrade any creats. So I guess it's a challenge any of you have to beat and best. The knowlege of it will make your other stages easier. Also not everyone have to buy them... People are just too lazy to find one.
the idea that it's summer , well I agree with that. less traffic, but as far as demographics go if the mortality rate is higher than the birth rate, the country is in some trouble (well, in most cases, China excluded for example) also, and this troubles me a little, a lot of MP3s are no longer doing anything alone! ie, a burst? they directly get the answer, without trying and guessing. beating the guards? people lend a hand and provide a spell... I asked for a cast a few days ago from a friend. he said no, and he was right, I shouldn't get into LR like that, after all, how will I learn anything about it? I was just jealous that those who probably knew less than me about rituals went in faster... spoilers spoil the fun, they don't seem to get it though
I can't agree more with sopiler things. There are a few mp5/mp4 outthere giving spoilers like crazy. Guess what, they are showing those players how little they care for them. They are making them weak. Most of those who are given such answers freely learn to be given all at their hands. Learn to make no efforts. Learn to leave when they can't get anything they wish. Worst, since they are just given the answer, they learn nothing about the concept, what it means, and how to use it in their favor.
amd Rumi, I also knew Marvolo, and I also miss him, no one should leave MD due to 'boredom' or such, MD's just too enthralling... I wonder what happened....
MD is playerbased, we build the fun, we build the boredom. You all have it in your hands. Get involved.
oh, and dst, the point wasn't with the cycle the point was and I 'semi-quote' Eon 'it's not out of addiction for this game. That died out long ago' <-- for a fighter and one that doesn't do much RP, the implication is clear...
Eon? What with Eon?

    Alliances
Why should the council or Mur state the goal of the alliance, when they have no active involvement in them? Goals and such change for alliances over time, a traditionally fighting alliance may start to do some research because there is a lack of reasons to fight against others, and thus their goal would change. If you want the current goals/fundamentals of an alliance, best bet is to ask them straight for it.
Because alliances actually do nothing? Neither change their purposes. With the time leaders change, but if the alliance have a static purpose then their ideas will revolve around it. Alliances are not meant to be judged based a number, but based on the role they should fulfill. And actually I see judgments based on numbers, something I disagree. But I guess not all think the same... Too bad.
How do you measure an idea? One man will call it rubbish and toss it away, another will see it as a treasure and a third will wish to bury it deep in the earth. Especially for somehow research related alliances there can be no such thing as a clear goal. Though I will admit research seems to have moved towards a stalemate lately, I honestly wish we would get the clues that were promised since a long time ago.
OK I'll use Advertisers as example because it's disbanded. Role: Established and clearly stated by Mur. Free Credits, top lists, traffic, all outside related MD image job. Even when the outside job can't be seen by most. The internal is seen. So the alliance is active and fulfilling its initial goal. Research alliances. Are they doing any researches, are they proactive in it? That should work as questions to judge their activity. Same with other.
