Actually, I think I can a little bit, talk on favoritism. (I apologize if this seems hypocritical on my part, as it is not intended that way).

I think it is awesome that people who do truly awesome things to get the things they deserve. People who put time and effort into the growth and aid of MD deserve recognition of at least some form, because they earned it. I am going to toss out the recent example of the person who did the symbols, I think that is really cool. I didn't say so obviously because I didn't want to be spammy- I feel I have done enough of that. : p

Anywho. When it comes to people who have a history of doing really terrible things (like Seigheart when he stole Avvys), or have no clear understanding of social boundaries and what is, and isn't acceptable (Fang), it really makes people question. It makes it hard to put faith in a person receiving these things because history has shown that well, they can't handle responsibility, or they can't handle social pressure. (I don't personally feel this way, but it's a gander at a guess) And because of that, it makes people wary of when you hand out such large chunks of responsibility.

I am sure I have much more to say on this matter, but right now I'm scatter brained with distractions so I can't quite focus.

DD, you have been quite polite with me thus far. Read this with time to spare.

Are you at fault alone? I quite doubt it, that things have gone this far speaks much of the social ineptitude of most of the involved.

But you are to blame for their reaction, nevertheless.

Is that statement unfair? Maybe so, but the all-embracing, tolerant society you are looking for doesn't exist. Not here, not anywhere. And you would not, yourself, be a member of said society.

Individuals have their limitations. Sooner or later one will offend another. And then you are left the choice of taking it in a stride and or swearing bloody murder.

You can be good company, but you don't react well to stress. When someone offends you, you will swear bloody murder at every chance.

But it is a bit of a vicious circle, you see?

You have been offended before, and your reaction inspired public dislike. With that, other parties start to see you in a negative light, and soon enough you are dealing with a large amount of offensive remarks whom your only reply to is to draw yet more negative attention.

I am not asking you to control your own reactions because you are solely responsible for this entire ordeal. To be frank, many got involved in those discussions because they find some form of entertainment in participating from a position where their own emotional integrity isn't at stake.

I am asking you to control yourself because you cannot expect of society to embrace you as you are, with no restraints. None of us can.

dst, herself, got a lot of flak (unusually so, that is) some years ago, and I, at least, perceive her public dealings to have changed somewhat as a consequence thereof.

I like to believe she can guess at what specific timeline I refer to, though it is unlikely to be a consequence of that event alone, and she is free to deny that, as it is a somewhat superficial impression.

And don't tell me those individuals criticizing could never have been your friends in the first place. I am sure you recognize you recognize the relevance of first impressions.

Point in case, speaking of "ignoring your flaws" (and you should ask for respect, not ignorance): many of us who had remained silent as you announced your intentions with the Labyrinth did so as to grant you the benefit of doubt. What is that but to respect your flaws, even as we had reason to be skeptical?

Pointing at the flaws of others won't help you live better with them, and most of them aren't about to leave. Or rather, one should understand that to change others one must be at least somewhat respected by them. And that requires first changing oneself.

Changing yourself is nor good nor bad, in and of itself, but the kind of public attention you receive, and the way you cope with it, are certainly an ill-begotten combination.

You've personally never wronged me. If you'd strive to act as such with others, that is a step in the right direction, if not more so. Most of all, understand that, often, there is more self-respect in restraining yourself, tactfully in your own favor, than to react rashly at any would be opposition.

the fact is that peoples reactions to you are a direct consequence of how you treat people, you are incredibly rude and hostile to many people, you do not communicate your words well, even when you have the best of intent(this is important). you blame people for misunderstanding your intent when the underlying flaw with that interaction lies with your inability to communicate your intent in a well worded manner. this is a problem with how you communicate, you just hide behind the excuse that its the communitys fault because they interpret you wrong, you look at it backwards, which is evident by the fact that you have alienated and pushed away many people in MD, if EVERYONE has a problem with something about you, thin its a problem with you, and if you refuse to change this (its your right after all) then you cannot get angry when people respond to you negatively, people have told you many many times what is wrong with the way you act with people, why they dont like it, and you continue to do it, and instead of reflecting on this issue you attack them, and push them away more.

Read what these people are saying.  Read and understand (not read and move on) what I wrote to you.

These people (marv and chew) are giving you the things that you need to work on before you can proper move on.

They aren't bashing you.  They aren't being overly critical, either.  You seriously need an attitude adjustment, because right now, you're borderline lost cause (for me at least).  This isn't intended as an insult, but some growing up is in order.

I am going to clarify on a point that I think needs clarifying on my post above.
Regarding DD's actions being laced entirely of self purpose:

He has said before, and many times, that this was an attempt at aiding the community at large.  However, I find that is countered by his "need to report" the actions of Dst and Eon.  I find that to be the opposite of helping the community, and again, only fuels personal vendetta and otherwise pursues to continue the squabbling between the two. I personally feel that if you want to help something, you do so with pure intentions of helping without ulterior motives. Positivity is a moving force, stuff toxicity into it, and it just becomes a shamble.

If you want to help the community, you set your quarrels aside. You work together. You make something of what you have despite what you don't. I don't believe DD did this, I also don't believe he had the right intentions in place when he went to the council about this. Never the less, segwaying council and going directly to Mur.  That's a slap to the face, IMO.

Preface: I don't really care to comment on all the other stuff.  I mainly just have a question (or two) I wish to ask DD specifically. I thought about writing a separate topic on this, but felt it would be too generalized and therefor, needed to be direct.

    DD...
You state you wanted to help MD grow as a whole, however, I feel that your actions were laced entirely of self purpose. Potentially of a vendetta against Dst, and perhaps even Eon. Do you have any idea of what your actions can, and have done? Do you even understand the concept of accountability? Not that of others, but yourself?

In a lot of commentary I see that many have tried to help you, before, and after. Yet you brush them off.  And when you brush them off you point the finger at them and say that they were at fault.

Have you bothered considering that maybe... You, were the one at fault? I see a lot of "but they did.... But they said.... but they want...." A lot of "theys". Not a lot of "I's".
You can point the finger at Dst or Eon, but you can also point the finger at Chewett and Mur and Council, too. You can point the finger at everyone who has spoken to you, given you support, help, or ideas. But at the end of it all, you are the one with the burden to bear. And with that burden, you carry the poison of your lack of accountability for your actions. If you are to even succeed, I suggest that you take a long hard look at your actions and yourself and fix what needs to be fixed before you even consider moving forward with your role.  Not only that, but I feel you also need to apologize to the people you have brushed off for even trying to help you. Take responsibility and part of the blame. And maybe you might have better working relationships.

Powerful players? With what? 3 send to goe casts (Eon's) and 1 sendtodeathwhisper (mine)?
THAT was enough to ruin a quest? OMG! I am super powerful in this case!

I HATE and I have always hated people that don't do their job/tasks/etc right. DD is one of them. He quickly put up a stupid quest just so he'd show activity for the Lab citizenship as he was told to. Badly deigned and badly implemented. He claims he did it "for the community". BS! He did it for himself. THAT made me act. And I didn't need too much since well..read the above.

Take a good look at the many links I have on the bottom of this page: http://magicduel.com/players/Eon

I mess with pretty much anyone and everyone, period. Don't try to make it out like I screwed with this quest because DD made it, the countless complaints against me from the past show otherwise.  Recently I saw Lashtal having a lecture at the Howling gates, I silvertounged people. When people meet, I will be there. The only time I don't screw with something is when I'm actually interested in competing in it, or someone I respect (not many of those) asks me not to mess with the thing.

You have been too disconnected from MD to know what is going on, you really shouldn't be jumping to conclusions.

I never asked for this, Eara.

I wanted and still want what Chew said ---> same treatment as all other questmakers; same safeguarding as all other questmakers, and a proper "punishment" (I'm being forced to use this word as I cannot think of any other) for those who had crossed their line way back but are now making it apparent and also being arrogant about it.

Such a thing may even backfire badly because my quest may not be up to such high standards.

Eon, if you swallow your pride, and respectfully speak to him, is awesome.  He's one if my best friends in MD, and back when he wasn't a power house, he was actually really, really helpful with a lot of things.  He even gave me birds and was patient to help me train way back when.

What pissed him off the most is when people don't treat him with respect, or even regard the fact that...  Hey, if you don't want something tampered with (I think he even helped me get back at the folks who put me in stat damage, and helped me get out), ask.  If you want help, ask.
