Family friendly side: I must say this didnt cross my mind. Well limiting the amount you can bet can be a disaster, on the other hand since there is only a pot and its basically an agreement between 2 people i think it will be fine. Gambling is not always something bad. And i doubt there is 1 player in MD that isnt familiar with the concept. Thinking that this can turn him into a gambler isnt a bit extreme?

1) The bet above is an example of a "sure thing". Chewett didnt start it, i did. So its my decision to basically lose 2 silver.
2) Any time during the bet counts.
3) As for payment well its a bet. It kind of is like a trade deal. I doubt people will not pay and stuff, its supposed to have funny bets not make a profit out of this. -
I recently noticed that there is really no gambling in MD. So this post will try to create the first gambling association named: Long time bets.
The procedure is simple: One person will have to make an assumption about MD with a time line also proposing a bet. (example: I bet 2 silver that Chewett will succeed on passing Mur on active days in the next 6 months), then some other person will have to call that bet. The starting day of a bet, is the day a person calls that bet.
Some rules:
1) Only gambling on MD stuff (but it can be anything about MD)
2) The bet can be from coins to silly acts or anything you might think of as long as the participant agrees. (No credits or real money and stuff)
3) Betting on a "sure thing" is allowed. So try to be sharp and choose your bets wisely.
To make it more fun all the bets should be placed in this topic so we all know what the bet is and who is participating.
I will start with my example: I bet two silver that Chewett will succeed on passing Mur on active days in the next 6 months.

The post was not made to make the rest of the community know how much we "care" for people. I believe that if you care you do things. You do not pray, or wish, or mourn and then comfortably sit in your chair and watch the news.
It was made to encourage people to think.
Who is benefiting?
Who is right? Who is wrong?
Why do wars happen? What can i do to stop wars?
To encourage people to get information and open up their minds and start veiwing the world as one. Like it or not Libya is part of the world. Our way of thinking and acting affects what happens there.
I would expect at least that from a community of a game where your ideas are mixxed with the ideas of the people around you and the result affect everyone.
I said its not about taking a stance or trying to find who is wrong and who is right because i dont want it to evolve into a pointless political conversation. I would want it to be nothing more and nothing less than just a small push to make us think for ourselves.

Libya is at war for many days now. A war against NATO and a civil war. This topic though is not to take sides or to talk about who is right and who is wrong.
This is to take some time to think what is happening in that country and spare a moment of uncomfortable silence.

Well md shop actually offers a lot of advantages to people who pay. I have made all the choices i wanted on the shop and still i cant afford to buy the avatar which i want so badly. Its ok its just some more days, I cant get my VE to 400k with shop thing, its ok i am trying and raising my VE sacrificing my time and with a lot of effort. I dont have 40 creature slots, or fancy tokens, nor any silver or gold coins bought from the shop, that is ok as well. BUT buying a drach with 25 dollar crosses the line. It doesnt help the game earn more money, as burns said, and it gives a big advantage to players that can pay.
Now lets say i wanted to take part in that auction, if i said 26 credits i am actually saying 78 days. you can then of course pay 2 more dollars and say 28 on the spot but i cant just say 29 but please, wait 12 days. So its pretty much unfair. -

I totally agree with chewett but i wll give you one more thing to think about.
Getting attack while you dont want to in the park can actually teach you some things as to how rituals work and why it is important to always be prepared. I am bored of seeing all these people who think that the concept of def is to give the other person non damage win... I mean yea when i attack and break your combo ritual (on my first attack) then that is your problem not mine.
You can either learn from this mistake, grow some balls and retaliate, or suck it up. Like it or not MD (as a game and as a fighting system) gives everybody an equal chance to be "good" at it, but that doesnt mean that everybody will.
The rules state clearly that they are not enforceable. respecting them or not is just a matter of good will.
Its your decision to fight or not. You dont want to get attacked? Either dont have any creatures or dont revive them. Dont try to make the park a semi-sanctuary... -

heh not really too much effort i just have way too much free time. Grido that was the idea. but since i got nothing to offer exept some silver i earned from a quest i thought of starting with that. I was actually hoping it to change into a creature and then move on like that. Or an item and stuff. I just dont have anything
Though you are probably right and i should buy something with that silver and then propose the deal again.

Of course i am cheap. Of course its like begging for coins. But its also a funny way to do it. You all got so serious about it. Its like everything has to be serious.
By the way its actually a copy of what a person did for real. he started with one dollar and after a year ended up having a house and a car. (or something like this as a result cant remember correctly.)

I like Burns idea. Though creatures beeing unfrozen by ability or token i think is just a bug waiting to be fixed.
Though i wanted to say my piece of mind on what Ravenstrider said before and nobody noticed. Why not just stop mp5s from using max creatures? I mean from what i know and hear in mp5 the most powerfull rituals can only be faced with identical or similar ones. That renders mp5 fighting a bit boring In my opinion. Its really nice to see all these different rituals now on mp4 working. Its fun to battle and face a different logic than your own. Makes you think harder. I now wish to remain mp4 forever simply because i like the variety of options i have, and i dont care so much of having a maxed angien if that means i can only use maxed angiens, drachs and maybe some birds...
Bottom line: fighting in mp5 seems boring.
PS i love the changes and i want to see more. -

The player who did it is not a victim. Its 1 silver coin. She aggreed to take it. Also its not such a big deal dont get paranoid with 1 silver. Come on go crazy and support my insane idea of earning some coins. You lose almost nothing. And yes grido i gave 1 and i took 2. Arent you even the least tempted to take 2 and give me 3? or something that worths more that 2. Go crazy

So people of the MD i am offering a chance to GO CRAZY.
The first trade was 1 silver for 2 silver coins. (giving one receiving two)
It was a success.
Now its the Second deal. 2 silver for 3 silver coins or something that has a value of more than 2 silver.
GO CRAZY and the trades will be continued. Lets see how crazy you can be...

This talk about finding who is alt or not is a bit pointless. Trust me on this one there is nothing that can quarrantee you that 100%. there is nothing to even give a good protection. As to why anybody who can understand these things i recommend you take a look at the onion rooting project... and think on what you can actually achieve with that. So in the end its always a matter of good will.

Even if the system gets a better defence against proxys (which in fact is measuring and checking the speed in which the info come from etc etc) there is the risk of becoming too "heavy" and even that can also can be by-passed with other a bit more advanced but still easy and accessible to anybody "hide" methods... I wont name any of them here though. So in the end its a matter of good will and also serious violations are found in a different way, since serious things can be, and are checked manually as well, as far as i know...
Though you are probably right and i should buy something with that silver and then propose the deal again.

Hmmmm. The six months could of course be 1 week, 3 days, 2 months. No real limit to the days. The "long time bets" is more of an advertising trick
Maybe we can have a person that collects the bets the time a bet starts. A neutral person that we all trust wont leave MD without giving his place to somebody else first. After all its an association.
