DARK DEMON Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 (edited) I was just wondering if there could be a nice lil' touch of animations somehow in the realm, a bit like Bob's blooming you might say What I had in mind was perhaps a rainy day, say, once a month? It would last for 24 hours, and each time when you would enter a scene on that day, a rain animation would appear in the beginning. What do you guys think? Root Admin Chewett Posted September 15, 2012 Root Admin Report Posted September 15, 2012 The snow option is turned on when it is december i believe, or closer to christmas. Quote

Root Admin Chewett Posted September 15, 2012 Root Admin Report Posted September 15, 2012 Personally i find the effect tacky, something of sites of the early 2000's. However thats just a personal opinion. There would be reasons against making it compulsory, giving the option to turn it off is a must. Also, is there a reason to waste Murry's time on features which are superfluous when other features are broken and need fixing? DARK DEMON, Ivorak, lashtal and 1 other 3 1 Quote
Chew, you would know very well that I don't intend to waste "Murry's" time... so no, there's no reason as such It's just a little something on the side, that's all. And I am not at all against there being an option to turning it off. Quote
Root Admin Chewett Posted September 15, 2012 Root Admin Report Posted September 15, 2012 I wasnt attempting to say you want to waste Murry's time, But what i was merely saying is that it can be spent on other features which need some improvement, rather than ones that are fairly "non-mission-critical" As you said, "its just a little something on the side" my point was that i dont think there is a reason to actually spend time on it, when other things are more urgent. Phantom Orchid Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Bob's blooming is pretty, yes, but not a random feature. What you are suggestion seems to be a random function, at least symbolically. Now if there were a reason... I imagine you would have better luck being able to gather support for an idea such as this. It can wait till the important problems requiring more attention can be solved.
Bob's blooming is pretty, yes, but not a random feature. Etluc Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 There is a way to make it snow any time of year - not including the spell. Quote

Etluc Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 I was pointing out there is another way, dst. Not the spell - that doesn't make the snow come across the screen as you said. But the other way does, I just don't remember the link. It was in the mood panel a while ago. Quote
VertuHonagan Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 I think Bobs blooming is kind of a spoiler and shouldn't be said here. As it should come as a surprise to players seeing it for the first time in game. As for the rain animations, I could see it being implemented as a way to show the weather. So if the weather is storming then it would be raining on any scene that is not inside of a building. I would think that showing the weather would be a good reason for the extra little bits of animation. Quote
No one Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 Please suprize us more often with Bob. I've seen it 2 time in ... since I remember. (you can check my age in the list of veterans). What is the point of heaving features without anyone seeing them / using them ? Quote
Seigheart Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 To keep them special... That's the point. The Warrior, Chewett, Peace and 2 others 3 2 Quote
