This can be an issue, for example if someone forgets they have someone else ignored and sends them a PM about wanting to buy one of their items. On multiple occasions I have received offers from people to buy things from me and I was unable to reply because they had me on their ignore list and had likely forgotten that they had ignored me. And when someone realizes they've blocked someone else but forgot about doing so, it might provide the impetus not only to unblock but to go and repair/renew the relationship. If there is such a massive issue I have found pretending that you cannot see their messages works a treat. You get the bonus of seeing them and their frustration thinking you can't.
