Root Admin Chewett Posted July 29, 2021 Root Admin Report Posted July 29, 2021 My computer is currently too slow to do any dev on although it’s not showing significant bottle necking in any area (cpu/ram/disk io/network) so I suspect some kind of HW issues. any ideas are welcome but I have tried a lot. I’m going to see if I can replace some of the sata cables. But no Md coding for a little while while I fix it. cc @Muratus del Mur Quote

Fyrd Argentus Posted July 29, 2021 Report Posted July 29, 2021 Some dang thing running in background? Update? Virus Scan? Disk defrag? Surely not an actual virus.... :{ Quote
Root Admin Chewett Posted July 29, 2021 Author Root Admin Report Posted July 29, 2021 I think the pcie bus is locking the CPU out periodically but debugging it is going to be a pain. Unlikely to be a virus as I run decent access protection . Disks are not disks and therefore don’t need defragging! No recent updates. Quote

Mallos Posted July 30, 2021 Report Posted July 30, 2021 Try to unplug your computer, remove the ram and then put it back into the slots. Check the capacitors to see if any are failing: Bulging or cracking of the capacitor's top vent, The casing sitting crooked on the board if the capacitor's base is pushed out, Rust-colored electrolyte leaked onto the motherboard, Missing or detached capacitor case. 9. Check your hardware Restart required PCI bus error can be caused by incompatible hardware, and if you installed any new hardware recently, be sure to remove it or replace it. If the new hardware isn’t fully compatible with your PC that can lead to system instability and BSoD errors, so be sure to remove any recently installed hardware. If the problem isn’t caused by new hardware, be sure to check all major hardware components such as your RAM, motherboard, hard drive, etc. This error is usually caused by problematic drivers or by overclocking, so be sure to update all your drivers and remove all overclocking settings in order to fix this error. Root Admin Chewett Posted August 2, 2021 Author Root Admin Report Posted August 2, 2021 I appear to have gotten it working and have committed some new code! Fingers crossed it stays that way. Quote
