Kyphis the Bard Posted March 28, 2022 Report Share Posted March 28, 2022 On the 12th day of the Anniversary I will be hosting the Revived Memories event at the Great Hall of the Sun, from 11:30 to 15:00 game time. Players will be invited to share their fondest memories of their time in the realm. Understanding people have other commitments and can't be on MD all the time, you can ask a proxy to recount your story. At the conclusion of the event the log will be taken and posted in this thread. Individual stories will be posted as separate replies to this topic and the community will be invited to vote on which stories they feel are the best (Only upvotes will be counted). At the end of Day 15 the votes will be counted and recorded. On top of any prizes provided to participants as an Anniversary event, I will personally be providing a 6th Anniversary Aramor and a 9th Anniversary Aramor, and if there are a sufficient number of high quality stories this may expand upto at maximum three 6th Anniversary Aramours and two 9th Anniversary Aramours. Users with the highest voted stories will be allowed to chose which type of Aramor they would like, starting with the highest voted and descending until I run out of Aramors I'm willing to part with. Often used for filleting fish or poultry) [25/04/22 11:46] Else:I might not be the best at story telling (curious since I am from LS) but I would like to share some memories [25/04/22 11:47] Else:If I remember correctly these events took place in year 5 of MD, [25/04/22 11:47] Else:I remember coming back to the realm after a few years of inactivity. [25/04/22 11:47] Else:As I achieved MP5 before leaving the realm the last time I was kind of a new MP5 and struggled a lot to get wins againts most players. [25/04/22 11:48] Else:One day I was wandering around MDA and found a group of players in the Golden Globe Gazebo Interior [25/04/22 11:48] Else:better known as the GGG or the MR Training Grounds, [25/04/22 11:48] Else:back then I did not know about its rules so I proceeded to attack them for some wins. [25/04/22 11:48] Else:After a while they invited me to train with them and explained the GGG rules to me. [25/04/22 11:49] Else:The few names I can remember are Asterdai, Buster, Spartiatis and Manda. [25/04/22 11:49] Else:I was getting along with them as we kept training, [25/04/22 11:49] Else:even one day Asterdai offered me an angien egg for one silver coin, [25/04/22 11:49] Else:after I told him I had none, [25/04/22 11:50] Chewett:What a kind gift [25/04/22 11:50] Else:he gave me the egg for free and even one silver coin. [25/04/22 11:50] Else:To the date it is still my oldest angien. [25/04/22 11:50] Else:Everything seemed to go well until Eon arrived to ruin our fun, [25/04/22 11:50] Else:we went to the Land of the East to train in peace. [25/04/22 11:51] Else:Back then most players had like 200-300 max AP, [25/04/22 11:51] Else:each step in the LotE took 80 AP and there were no land loyalty or land affinity mechanics, [25/04/22 11:51] Else:it definitely took a while to get to our place, [25/04/22 11:51] Else:but Eon kept arriving to our place despite Chewett sending him back to Gazebo of Equilibrium continuously. [25/04/22 12:07] Chewett:That was where I then became an honorary archives member, where Ren and my paths diverged. [25/04/22 12:07] Chewett:We both worked on attaining SoE, however he went into the dusty archives (less dusty then) to continue his research, and I continued mine in SoE. [25/04/22 12:08] Chewett:My takeaway from the rambling here is, treasure the present, you don't know how long it might last. [25/04/22 14:10] Fyrd Argentus:I was able to get so much stuff going on, I had to make a spreadsheet to keep track of it all. [25/04/22 14:11] Fyrd Argentus:I had about 120 people participating, and 30 different ways they could get pickles. [25/04/22 14:12] Fyrd Argentus:I had a "tiered" system going that let them get better and better prizes traded for larger number of pickle points. Sort of like collecting green stamps and buying from the catalog. [25/04/22 14:13] Fyrd Argentus:Anybody here remember that sort of thing - before frequent flyer miles.... [25/04/22 14:14] Fyrd Argentus:I think I had my "bottle of vinegar" long before Mur invented "spicy pickles" and gave me my pickle jar to produce them. [25/04/22 14:16] Fyrd Argentus:When I slipped into another dimension in year 8, I had been able to pay off the pickle points of all those people except perhaps 2-3, whom I was able to look up the fate of in year 16. [25/04/22 11:49] Else:The few names I can remember are Asterdai, Buster, Spartiatis and Manda. [25/04/22 11:49] Else:I was getting along with them as we kept training, [25/04/22 11:49] Else:even one day Asterdai offered me an angien egg for one silver coin, [25/04/22 11:49] Else:after I told him I had none, [25/04/22 11:50] Chewett:What a kind gift [25/04/22 11:50] Else:he gave me the egg for free and even one silver coin. [25/04/22 11:50] Else:To the date it is still my oldest angien. [25/04/22 11:50] Else:Everything seemed to go well until Eon arrived to ruin our fun, [25/04/22 11:50] Else:we went to the Land of the East to train in peace. [25/04/22 11:51] Else:Back then most players had like 200-300 max AP, [25/04/22 11:51] Else:each step in the LotE took 80 AP and there were no land loyalty or land affinity mechanics, [25/04/22 11:51] Else:it definitely took a while to get to our place, [25/04/22 11:51] Else:but Eon kept arriving to our place despite Chewett sending him back to Gazebo of Equilibrium continuously. [25/04/22 12:07] Chewett:We both worked on attaining SoE, however he went into the dusty archives (less dusty then) to continue his research, and I continued mine in SoE. [25/04/22 12:49] Valoryn:I dropped the china cup I was holding and it shattered to pieces. [25/04/22 12:50] Valoryn:In panic mode, I rushed to the basement to search for a wooden cup instead and brew more tea. [25/04/22 12:50] :Chewett considers the blasphemy of drinking from a wooden cup [25/04/22 12:51] Valoryn:To keep things short, I managed to survive the sparring without any further accidents. [25/04/22 12:51] Valoryn:However, arguments about GotR and how it had been gone kept coming and going.
