  1. well, who knows what mur is doing right now, maybe he has finally found a way, that madness state is really long now^^

    and the ratio 10-1 is not that bad, after all you don't meet a regen rit every 20 battles, do you? i have met about ten unprepared in over 4000 fights up to now...but maybe i'm the exception to the rule xD

    if the ratio win-loss was 1-1, the game would die out, simply because people don't have the time to find loss-partners for every single xp they want to win...
    people just NEED regen rits with losses over 150k so they can keep on playing...

    and, as you have surely read, there are ideas to un-set the cap for highest level, but that would lead the whole game ad absurdum...imagine you could grow and grow and grow endlessly, there would be just one reason to play: beat the high score...and that would destroy the whole 'life' of MD, making it a simple beat em up with gods running around and bashing everybody just for the sake of bashing people because they grow on bashing everyone...
    with the system the way it is, you are (nearly) safe from god-attacks, because most people who are really strong know that the only way of growing stronger is beating strong players, bashing weaklings wouldn't give you the stat and xp reward you want to have for the player xp you need to lose again... it's kind of hard work to lose xp, so we want a good reward for the xp we gain again from winning a fight =D

  2. there are ways of gaining special stats, i don't yet know them all because i'm focusing on regen and attack, but if you ask dst, he could tell you the very rit for every stat you want (except init maybe, i think that one is the toughest to farm...)

  3. i definitely love it, but i think that it would not increase the "uniqueness"...
    after all, most players would take strong damagers to raise other critters, only very few would choose another option, and of course everyone would take the highest stat they can get...
    after all, that would lead to hundreds of different pics for the same creature with, let's say, 200 damage multiple, 50 def and 15 init (just numbers, didn't really think trough it all the way xD)

    but i would love it anyway, even facing the fact that my special critter would look like a kindergarden-picture xD

    and i didn't want to insult you in any way, it was just so funny that dst linked to the same topic xD

    and a bug has to be there before it's a bug, so it was a game mechanism before it was declared a bug, right?^^

    and mur wanted to solve that mechanism because it's really annoying sometimes, but on the other hand, if that bug was not there, he would have loads of mp5 who can't train critters anymore and would most likely leave the game...
    and there are are not that many people who set such "xp traps" for their own private pleasure, there are only some who have them always and some who have them to help others losing xp, if you attack random players and avoid some like no one, dst, stf, anubarak ect.ect., you will win xp in the long run^^

    and it's still a bug in most peoples eyes, but one we have learned to cope with and even exploit it whenever we want our players xp reset, there are worse bugs in the game -.-

    your choices are simple: live with the bug and get angry when you meet a "trap" and write the player down so you don't attack him again, OR ask people before attacking them when you need some xp really bad, there are always those who are willing to help OR leave our community (that would be a loss, because you seem to be both nice and intelligent =))

    ps: there are not that many people who are able to raise an army that will give you a massive xp loss, and losing 3k is not really that bad, is it? that only about 10 small wins ;-)

    and i would be soooo glad if everybody had a tree rit set, it's hard to loose xp if you have only little time...

    and redsun, of course there's always the chance of losing a battle, and sometimes, you lose more than vit, so put up with it or stop attacking random people ;-)

    EDIT: yep, i've faced the problem myself, right when i started mp5, i attacked STF and No One, and all of a sudden, my two da3 (my best critters back then) were back to 0 xp, just to make sure you don't claim that i wouldn't know what i'm talking about, hitting the cap myself... i do know what it's like =D

  6. hmm...illus... would it be available to everyone who wants to take part if it was based on illusions, or just to those few who advance to a level when illus can be used? But i get what you mean...maybe some sort of spell that the 'chess master' could cast on those who want to participate, something like an extended dream state...

    Personally, i like bored's idea better, and it needs some more serious considering how many critters every player should get, and which...
    at first i thought of one of each (maxed) kind, but then again, that would not leave enough choice for setting different strategies...(thinking about rits with more than one ele, or more than one grasan).
    On the other hand, if you gave every player 6 of every kind, there would soon be one 'god-rit' (you can imagine a few very very nasty things a player can set with all the creature's he wants to, but one would turn out to be the nastiest) and then, the normal game would lose it's fun because everyone would try to get that very rit ingame, not caring about stats, tactics and abilities anymore if an advanced player told them about those methods to ensure his/her party wins the game...

    i have no idea how that dilemma could be solved, but it's better than letting people fight with their own creatures and stats for sure, imagine mp3 or mp4 would want to participate, would it be fun for them anymore if we told them 'well sorry, you can't play chess because you are too weak and your critters are not strong enough to kill ours'?? They can even compete successfully in the head contest, and that really is about strenght, so why exclude them for a simple game of chess, which is brains only, no muscles?

  7. i think the rewards are way too high...
    and it would be quite unfair because players like dst are straight out stronger than others...

    i think there should be a combination of 20-25 creatures (chosen with the help of dst and no one, if they want to help) some given stats for all players, so really everyone in the game has the same chances and it really comes down to strategy, i mean, the pawns CAN kill the king in chess...

    the game should be faster, because if two or three chess pros per team can talk out the next move for hours, it will lose it's fun, i'd suggest one move per ~ 2 minutes, so there's the real chance of making mistakes...

    and the rewards should not be that high, it would enable mp4's to become gods...i rather suggest only a vit reward, maybe a luck or regen reward, but the other stats influence the game too much, and of course players should be able to participate more than once, but only 'win' in the way of gaining something for it one time (like head contest)^^

  12. another bug concerning names:
    when you leave the screen, you leave traces with your real player-name, but with the symbol of the ally you joined with the illusion...
    those who have casted a warrior tag (sol the mighty, burns the bloodthirsty, whatever) leave traces without the warrior name (MRD the strong leaves traces as MRD, MRP the cruel as MRP and so on)

    Bugged: description and tag

    I logged off as necro soldier with everything normal, and to see if my name changed back i got a lore soldier for 10 mins. Now, after stopping that illu, i still have the description of the lore soldier and the tag healer, even though i neither logged off as healer, nor did i become one =D
    and no matter how often i log off and back on, the description and tag stay, even when no such illu is on right now

  14. nah, he doesn't curse in the chat, only in front of his pc, everytime he gets attacked...no matter by whom xD
    then he sits there, mumbling to himself 'stupid ass, i hope you die, go and f**k yourself'...all the common swearwords... but he never cares to type them in because he is too lazy to get himself in troubles LOL

  15. if you read through the chat logs you'll see that he doesn't speak english at all, i'd guess that's the english of a 13 years old guy who doesn't care for school and found a online dictionary for the harder words xD
    ps: It sounds just like my brother, that's why i know it could be a 13 year old non-native speaker who doesn't care for school =D

  16. i have just upgraded an archer that needs 6 xpl to be upgraded even though i had only 5 (my max as GG member).
    As the title says, nothing to worry about, i lost the ap, vit and vp normally, but the xpl stayed.
    maybe that's an overall bug? i never minded the xpl when upgrading because i don't need them anyways...
    can someone please take a look at his/her xpl costs next time when upgrading a creature and post about it?^^

  17. there is hardly a way to satisfy you...
    new weapons are always nice, but it's hard to implement new ones that can be used at mp3 and 4...
    new weapons are normally better than old ones, and the best atm cost about 20k, so the next step would be 30k...
    and giving strong equips to low levels is kind of pointless, as i have already explained, it would either not work and get the game unbalanced or grow useless when everyone uses them...
    it's very hard work to get new items implemented and keep the game balanced, maybe even impossible...

  18. k, weapons solve the problem, you can really only bear one weapon at a time...xD

    but still, even if only one creature from each creature-group can learn a special strike, and even if that strike is only applied in the first turn, that would be murderous...
    atm, 6 grasans is about one of the strongest rits, but if that new eature was implemented, i would make a rit with only one creature of each sort, and imagine you face a grasan with "heavy strike" dealing 500 weaken to all, a archer with "rapid fire" dealing 500 damage to all, a knator "supersonic attack" dealing 750 dmg to multiple and a lore archer "thousands arrows" dealing 200 dmg to all in the first round, that makes 1700 dmg to all and 2950 dmg on all those who get hit by the knator, WITHOUT stats-bonus, and people with 400 attack are not that rare, that sums up to 2000/3350 dmg IN THE FIRST STRIKE!!
    that would take the fun out of the game...
    with the actual system,only a handful of players CAN do such things to your creatures, but the normal players are far from it, so you can defeat most people with the right ritual, but if any player who attacks enough noobs can get such an army, you will have a hard time raising creatures...

    and saccing is what we have the creatures for, there's a reason why we have 16 slots and only 6 can do combat at once ;-)
    imagine what happened if you could grow your max vp by winning: people would start attacking beginners and near-dead even harder than they do atm, and would end up with full sun god set at mp3, making them gods of mp3...

    that's not such a great idea, is it? =D

    and if you made that weapons with low vp costs, beginners could get them, and therefore the weapon must be nearly useless, because if you give a weapon that seems good for mp5 to a noob, he is a mp3 god again, and that's what we don't want...
    strong equips must be over 10k to make sure that no mp3 gets them by accident, and really strong things need a value over 20k^^

    i know that it sounds hard for mp3's and maybe even for mp4's, but if some of them could get strong equips by exploiting vp system, the game would grow very very unbalanced, and if ALL could get those equips, even without finding a way to get high temp vp, the equips would grow totally pointless...
    take a look at mp5, nearly everyone is running around with a full medusa and the sun gods helmet because it's officially the strongest equip you can get, and therefore, equips grow pointless, because everyone's the same anyways...

  19. but still, as you have said, it's up to the indvidual coder to do so^^
    of course, if you just need a pro to do some maths, you can take your time to polish it up a bit, that's what i did in my classes most of the time because coding maths-problems is not that hard xD
    but manu is NOT coding a pro that multiplies whatever you put in, that realm he created is much more, and it takes much more time just to figure out what's coming next, i wouldn't want to know how much lines the illusions take... and there, logical errors make your script break down, and not just get the solution "can't solve" or "syntax error"...

    i guess that manu is kind of absorbed with the illusions without correcting typos atm...and when that's finally done, he will be busy with madmans or whatever hides behind the gazebo of chaos or golemus and necro creatures, so i guess the typos will stay there for some time xD

    and, just to destroy your illusions: atm, manu is doing it all by himslef and doesn't give the source to anybody, not even dst and shoeps, so why should he give it to normal players to mess it up while trying to correct typos?

  20. very interesting ideas...
    i especailly like the weapon idea, but i'd go further and suggest that there should be a set that enhances certain creatures, else i could take my medusas pants for loreroot creatures, my sun god helmet for the no mans creatures, the amazons fury for all archers and the royal guards gloves for marinds creatures, and all in all set a rit with creatures two times as strong as they usually are...
    i'd say there should be a whole set that makes one certain type of creatures stronger, and that set should be one that is "weak" in overall stat-bonuses, that would get some kind of individuality to the realm...
    but i don't agree with the new abilities idea, usually, i grow creautres to a certain level to sacc them to get more stats and grow stronger, if a creature would gain something endlessly, i would start farming 6 creatures and make them get killer-attacks that take my enemy out in the first strike... who cares for stats if you could also get a ele with all-ability and 50 power? xD

    assumption: i like the second idea, but i don't like the first one^^

    but i assume that setting new equips is hard for manu, because the things need to be somehow balanced, and to some players, 30k vp is no problem, while it seems out of reach to others...
    dst, just for example, could get the new equip within two hours, test it and get himself a new killer-army within a week, while players who are just starting mp5 have absolutely no chance to get the value points needed for the latest equips...

    sunday is the 21st^^
    and i suggest not making it on the weekend before christmas, better in the week before ( between 15th and 20th), or on monday/tuesday before 24th, because i guess most of us will have some way of xmas celebrations at work or with their friends on that weekend...
    and after xmas there is xmas vacation and new year, that's a bad time for a bigger event^^

  22. It surely is important, but it's not very exciting to correct misspellings...
    if you were to create a game and expand it's functions, would your priority be to expand your own and your games horizon and create new features that need some coding effort and of course the intelectual work that's needed for the script, or would you stop doing the fun-stuff and read through everything you've already done to correct the typos?

    i can really understand why those mistakes are still there...
