1. quick test runs shows that it's not just displaying the wrong stat, it has the wrong stat. while chaos archers will still use token/ profile stats and deal damage based on the assigned attack stat, their base damage will be a single point when used without influence, since they have an intrinsic attack stat of 0 now (or 'none' if there is any technical difference; instead they having power). it's an old and known 'bug', their ability was partly reverted, but not their stats (lower levels don't have 'weaken' like they used to, but they all have 'damage' again). and as jester indicated, the drain principle ability was deemed unbalancing and is obsolted by teh cap anyway.

2. good idea. it's possible already if you give all unread messages a certain priority (3* for example), but i think it should be a basic feature.

on the same note:
"save unread"-check so unread messages stay in your inbox. new incoming messages should push all read messages out before a PM marked as unread gets lost (it's currently strictly following the order of first received -> first out, iirc)

3. i can pretty much agree to what udgard said, for similiar reasons. like him i got only to part III, but from what i've seen i can say it's a nicely done quest. you did a great job in always giving fast replies, which is especially important in 'first in = first win' quests.

i'd also agree with dst in that being able to earn additional hints could have been nice, but i'm not a fan of buying hints, rather of earning them (small sidequests for additonal hints maybe).

as an aside:
ironically it was the cipher part that got me, so i'd really like to see the solution for the big "doh, why didn't i think of that?"-moment :)

4. replace 'loss' with 'victory' in my former post, the point is the same...
(btw, victory and loss aren't mutually exclusive, both outcomes can happen in a single battle)

saying that farming wins is boring and suggesting a place to farm victories is related how?

you say pretty much anything is better than farming wins at ggg. don't do it then.
there are players like burns (as an example for a strong but not overpowered fighter) who don't use ggg and who are still faring well.

from what you say it sounds like you'd want a place for real battle, rather than one to farm. at GoE you will still find fighters who fight old school. why not joining them?

5. i think the issue with your idea was this:
you tested a methode for yourself and learned something about mechanics that way. nice.
what you suggest is making a place that obsoletes the necessity for others to learn this themself, giving them a standardized form (as done in your last post) and let them farm without having to understand what exactly they are doing.

i started this post with "i think the issue..." because me saying this without any such prefix would be hypocrisy. my point is that while most of us like to help and are free to give infos we had to work for, we have to keep in mind that giving away too much isn't really helping but destroying the fun of finding it yourself.

since farming profile losses can already be done (actively) at ggg if you know what you are doing, without messing with the regular training, i'd have to say i agree with the general sentiment of a special place not being necessary.

6. those screenshots simply show 2 sword balance. without the associated battles from your fightlog (which shows if the battles counted for profile wins/losses by checking the according boxes) there's not much we can tell from them.

7. i think it's easier to have everyone still having this problem write in this threat than seperately PMing mur. this way everyone can be fixed in another go.

to sum it up (correct me if necessary):

I am Bored
MRV - 103641
CrazyMike - 48895
Junior - 43448

8. this is as close as i get to a rant. it's not usually my style, so i aplogize for the lack of practice. i simply don't like that she gets so much one-sided flak for it.
-----------

i wonder if you seriously fail to see this simple fact:
adam riddle acted according to his role. so did peace.

you moarn about a 'real' punishment for 'RP actions'. the punishment was according to her role, so it is RP punishment for RP actions. yes, it is a very tangible punishment.
now, may i ask you: if you think that your RP actions shouldn't cause an according reaction, what are they worth at all? you want your RP to be taken seriously? then be braced for when it is.

incident:
the 'attack' was an insult against necrovion and herself, and a newly risen-to-power queen shouldn't set a precedent that one get's away lightly with such an act.
she kept her countenance when publicly insulted and saw to it that the incident was made into an example that this was a very bad idea. a fairly good example of realpolitik. of course, a really 'evil' king/queen would have seen to it that there is no such tales-from-the-prison nonsense, but we in MD play nice :)

also, does anyone question what peace has done for his role developement? a windfall.

reality of the crime:
it might have been "just in his mind", but we all know that ideas have power within MD. often things that were mere thoughts became very tangible, if you gave them time to gather power. and again, the action got it's relevance from the reaction. that's what seperates fooling around from RP.

as one representing a land, you can't afford to appear weak, especially since the shades might not be too happy seeing an affront against their land from some twisted human madman unpunished. real or not.

Finally, Kings act like I expect them to!
i know this was originally meant as critic, but what can i say: apparently it's what people expected all along. in that case: congratz on consistent roleplay peace :(

note:
i don't argue against her choice of wording being highly unfortunate, and the lenght of the sentence might be debatable, nonetheless it's consistent.

9. i like the idea of a round table as the heart of administration for the golemus alliances. it emphasizes the affilation of the fraternity with the land and gives a currently unused location a fitting purpose.

and as MRAlyon said, it doesn't mean ggg ends. on the contrary, it would help with organization and the flow of information between the various staff members.

10. regarding alts/mains:
an obvious problem: how do you define alt and main? is the first char always the main? what if you mainly play your second or third, will you lose out on various possibilities because the first registered account would have had the chance to do this and that?

an example:
at least 3 of my chars could have been considered 'mains'. the first was mainly RP, the second, was originally used to test storymode and the finer points of battle mechanics and later became my 'main' for quite some time, then 'alt'-ish again when i started playing V.

regarding alt abuse:
an easy if inelegant solution would be to limit age based WPs to wishes that can only really benefit the activator. no use to farm alts for WPs when your 'main' can't benefit from it. you could use them for RP purposes or to test certain options/wishes, which is one of the things alts can be used for.

Untradeable?... Absolutely not. There should be no untradeable creatures.

- 1 WP is required to recruit the creature, and 3 WP to upgrade it to the max. Subsequent creatures only need 1 WP to recruit, but upgrading it no longer takes a WP. The 3 Wp is just to unlock the upgrading option and is shared across all creatures of that player.
- A large fraction of the creature's strength is based on the enemy's strength (%based just like lifesteal), and strength adjustments will mostly affect the %cap (although there are some non-% abilities as well).
it should be obvious why the creature has to be untradable in this setup. and even if the 4 wp idea gets scraped: a useful, wp-obtainable, tradeable creature would increase the incentive of using alts as multi-solvers for wp quests or to abuse the age based wp (if it gets implemented). depending on the exact setup and powers, i'd even suggest making it one-per-account, untradable.

the overall idea is a really nice one, but personally i'd be in favor of a slightly lower wp cost.

12. i'm wondering if decreasing the exp cap for mp3 would really be such a good idea:

the exp cap got increased so that real new players had a bit of leeway to try and level different creatures, without having to look out for what is "optimal" and to make sure they at least had a chance to be decent-ish powerful before getting thrown into the shark tank. decreasing the exp cap will harm those new, experimenting players more than alts, because experienced players know how to min-max, if we have to.

i'd agree that giving more incentive to ascend by new or modified options, increasing principle caps, etc is the way to go ;)

13. only those principles will be set to 4000 that were influenced by the sacrificed creature.
if you sacrifice at an altar that only influences one of your principles, only this one will be set to 4000 while the others remain untouched.
if you sacrifice a creature that grants no principle boni, none of your principles are adjusted (contrary to what the announcement said, if i remember correctly).

i didn't have 6 principles, but i think if you can find an altar that raises the principle you want to keep, without influencing the one you want to discard it should work fine.

14. Technicalities and Explanations:

i decided to finally release the quest, since "completing" it as originally planned would mean writing half a novel of narrative and double the amount of tasks. i guess neither you nor i have that much time :) instead it will be a potentially short, potentially different kind of quest.

while the tasks themself are classic, the narrative is sorta unusual and breaks with most paradigms. bear with it (you might actually enjoy it). while most ideas are mundane or even banal, they might spark some interesting trains of thought if you let them.

if you think you have a good reason, you may converse with your "inner voice" (sending me a pm about a particular thought in this quest), potentially altering your journey completely.

if you see something like (3/4/5) those values are for mp3 / mp4 / mp5 respectively.

its not a first in = first win quest. you will have enough time to think, no need to rush. try to follow the path of kings if you can, even if it's just for a few steps.

Common Sense:

you may participate with one account per player.
if you are asked to help, please give very enigmatic hints or none at all.

WP distribution:

in case of many solvers, steps on the path of kings will determine the WP winners.

PM me ingame to initiate the quest, i can usually be found at Golden Globe Gazebo interior.

enjoy!

[time for searching is simulated by delay. if presented with choices, pm me your choice. you will not have to interact with rp items or to enter remote places]

Players that had the LR back exit blocked after the key change, got it fixed today. In this process i had to summon them to that location, sorry if i pulled you from important business.
Seems to be still blocked, at least for me.
I tried the most obvious things (clear cache + refresh, revisiting the location form both ways) but may have forgotten something necessary?
