Thank you guys, if you have more ideas for the job market please post them as well. A few more things. * If the date set for the marketplace is not suitable to a player to attend, he/she may go idle on location so people can read his/her papers and pm offers. * The character migh be hired by many people, not just one. * Since I am promoting the use of silver coins, I would ask MDS to be the currency selected for this pourpuse. * Everyone will be encouraged to participate. I am sure each player performance will be evaluated for their employer so be prepare to do your best. K

As I have announce before there will be soon a new item’s auction. Thanks to stormrunner there is only one item left to go. For this event I would like to encourage a job market too. We all know this is a complicated subject; we don’t want people to charge for helping others. So I think I have come with an alternative solution to this. I hope you like it. First of all, the job market shouldn’t be an expensive market (meanin: exclusive) The main purpose of this event will be to make character rolls interact in a completely new context. For example, we have… Peter Bowman… he is a great warrior but also he can teach others about archery. For this effect this player will have to learn all about it, (history, mythology) he has to know many things related to that activity but also accordingly to his character epoch. If he offers a lesson too, he also will have to be able to roll play it. On the marketplace Peter Bowman will have on his papers an abstract of the activity/teaching his is offering. From my point of view, job market is a complex field so it needs people really committed to make it work. If any of you is interested in participate, please prepare an interesting promoting presentation of your self and pm to me. Just to be clear: I wont charge for this. Regards, K

I believe we need a bit more "real" characters on MD. I really don't think so, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I trust the judges to be carefull enough to detect cheaters. We'll see if people are interested first, because we'll need the judges to commit on reading many papers and be objective critics. They will be the ones in charge of the contest (which also means to create and follow some evaluation parameters) I will start to pm a few to see if they can take that responsability. Then we may start promoting the contest and find the right candidats for the competition. K

I don't know if this contest can be repeted, we have to see how it works first. Maybe Chewett will win all the prizes and crush our system. I think your criteria and Kafuuka's are well thought. I am going to start sending a few PMs as soon as I get out of storymode. Then we'll see if people is interested or not. I believe this should be carry out via forum so we all learn about this evaluation. I do consider my self quite an ignorant on the roll playing and personal papers thingy. K ps. We can also add a few extra medals: humor, complexity and... hmm originality?... this medals will have nothing to do with the judge evaluation, they can be just a chance for everyone to vote for them, to get the community involved.

Other thing, the vote must be public so veterans don't vote for their adepts, the contest shouldnt be a way to gaing adepts either. Does Mur follow parameters to give rewards? The idea is to create just a few so the new players can prepare their papers. I don't know you tell me.... these are just a few thoughts. To evaluate personal papers (Each level between 1-5 points) : 1. Character story (origins) 2. Character developement (projections) 3. Since RPCs and many other veterans frequently encourage new players to write about them selves on their papers, I was considering we might reward new players who have devoted some time to develop an interesting roll playing character. I don’t know yet what parameters we should use. I don’t consider myself a good judge on that, but I know this could be a motivating contest for newcomers to the Realm. So, first I would like to know if you consider this to be a good idea. In case you do: 1. we might need a few parameters so we can evaluate them and 2. we will definitely need a few judges too. I was thinking the newcomers have to be at least 15 days old and no more then 90 days old. The prizes I would offer are from the Market funds First Place: A pimped grassan + 10 MDS Second Place: 10 MDS Third Place: 5 MDS K

I think that is a good idea. From what I've seen this is mostly a grown up kinda game, and game sites are not the best (and only) kind of promotion MD needs right now. Searchengines are a great idea but I would also use a few flash banner ads on key sites. I am not an online player fan, so I never visited game sites, the first game I played online was because I clicked an add banner on my mail, so it is possible to atrack people whom never played before with that type of publicity. K

I entered story mode my self. I hope to see the tunnel too... sounds cool
