1. 1. We cannot see the Moon. 2. The Sun does not move. Whatever stopped the motion of the Sun probably also stopped the motion of the Moon, as the Moon and the Sun are similar, one presiding over the night, and the other the day. This is the romantic view, and if someone wanted to keep night away forever, they would also stop the Moon from invading their day sky and reminding them of the Night they once had. So theoretically, if you take away whatever stopped the Night, you would also bring back the Moon, because the Moon and Night are closely linked. As for solar systems, currently I think it is irrelevant to discuss what kind of solar system exactly we are in. That is an investigation for another time and place, and something we might never know, seeing as the motions of our celestial bodies are not repetitive. What does matter is that the Sun does not move, the Moon does not show, and Night does not exist. Something has stopped or is stopping it, and it has to do with the Pillars of Harmony. Awi
2. The moon is however connected to the motion of the Sun. To find how the Pilllars connect to the Moon one must first find why the Sun does not move so we can see the Moon. Awi
3. I agree it is possible. Although why would the Pillars be destroyed by something that stopped the sun from moving? It seems... unlikely that it would destroy ONLY the Pillars, which if you are correct, have nothing to do with the motion of the Sun. Or is there another explanation? Do the Pillars not move the Sun, but have some other affect? Awi
4. An interesting theory, to be sure. However, I think it is perhaps too literal. Pillars do support a heavy load, but it does not need to be connected to some other object, tower, Moon, or other physical object. Perhaps the builders of the Pillars wanted it to be symbolic, Pillars of Harmony that held up the biggest load of the world: the peace and tranquility of night and day. There have also been accounts of Pillars built for ceremonial or memorial purposes, such as Pompey's Pillar which was built as a commemorative Pillar. Pillars are symbolic, and while their main purpose is to support objects, they have other uses and purposes as well. Perhaps the Pillars supported a majestic top once, but when it was broken the top was done away with and all that remains are the supports. Who is to say? Awi
5. I read that, but it doesn't mean there can't be two domes. Often times inner parts reflect outer parts. Think of this for example: http://mandelbrot.collettivamente.com/ Awi
6. If I may summarize for my own understanding and others we have a two theories. Please correct me if I am wrong. 1. There is a dome that surrounds Magic Duel which has the image of a sun doing circle inscribed on it. Where do the Pillars fit into this? 2. The Pillars move the Sun, and do not let it set because they are broken. I am Bored: Your theory is intriguing, but there is only one sun, not two. If I read incorrectly, please explain further. What I understood is that there are two suns, so that when one sets the other rises. However we know that there is one sun in the middle of the sky making a small circle in the center of the sky. Awi
7. No news is good news, as the phrase goes. However I hope there is news soon. Awi
8. There was at one time night, in fact Jack Willow and Daniel Raven, and possibly Marind have seen night. There was a night, and there was a moon, at one point in MD history. Also if you read the words of Greggory Macefist, there is evidence there for both night and day as well. Awi
9. I like the first more than the second. On the first, I would have liked to see the shading on the sword be darker, so as to push it back in space. It looks like both arms are hanging at their sides, which would place the sword lower. If you want the arm not seen to be holding the sword backwards and up, you should have laid more shading on it... Besides that, I REALLY like the armor and the pose. On the second, it is slightly awkward. Most of this comes from the rib cage and the arm with the shield. If you look at the ribcage, it looks off... more to one side than the other. And the shield arm does not work because it is not dark enough to be convincing that it is behind the torso. Also the sword arm does not seem to connect correctly with the shoulder. Even with these slight things, the second one is very good. Good job on both. Awi
10. It's very long, I apologize. A one sentence summary is at the bottom if you grow tired of reading. There are a few things we know to be true: 1. The Pillars of Harmony move something, and they are currently broken and crumbling. 2. The Sun moves, but does not set, and began moving after the war. 3. There was a Night and a Day at one point in time, and the Pillars of Harmony were not broken at one period in time. Starting with these facts I am going to reexamine and propose a theory. The Pillars of Harmony move something, and their power is unknown and possibly even unknowable. The mechanism for teleportation, and the necessary power for it, I am unsure of. There is no doubt in my mind that if the Pillars can move humans to any point in the Magic Duel World, then it can move the Sun a centimeter at a time across the sky. This is one piece that requires faith, as I cannot test the power of the Pillars nor can I know the source of their power. The Pillars of Harmony's name is interesting, because it suggest their purpose. Perhaps at one time they were created to keep the Harmony of Night and Day by moving the Sun beyond the Horizon. It is even possible that the Pillars control the movement of the Moon as well. The Pillars are, unfortunately, broken now and forever and the Pillars will probably never be able to keep perfect harmony between Day and Night, Sun and Moon. If not Harmony, perhaps a sort of makeshift system would be doable. The measurements that Bootes talks about I believe are the the altitudes of the Sun at different locations. If the Pillars truly do move the Sun through the sky, then the altitude for the Sun would be the same at all locations. I am unsure of why the Sun would be at the same height as the Pillars in some places and not in others, but I can suggest a possible explanation. Magic that is strong enough to move objects through space is something I don't fully understand, but I will try to explain my point of view. As is stated in the writings on the Principle of Transposition, a very complex identity (teleportation) can be reproduced with the same affects in a much simpler form (the Pillars). In order to move objects, the Pillars must be impregnated with a vast amount of Magic, and probably only a Master (or 20) would be able to create such Pillars. To destroy the Pillars and the Magic they possess would be difficult at best, and a much more plausible solution is to create a binding Illusion. Such an Illusion would latch on the Pillars, most likely changing their physical features, and stop the motion of the Sun throughout all of MD. The damage such an Illusion created is likely irreversible, hence the forever broken nature of the Pillars, however the spell itself seems to be wearing off. When an Illusion spell wears off, it will wear off first where the identity it hides is strongest. The Illusion wore off most quickly in the Pillars, which is to be expected, however other sites that have to do with the Sun will also wear the Illusion off more quickly than the rest of Magic Duel. Such Sites could be: Wasp's Alter, Wasps's Totem, Raven Hold, Oak Fort, Agien's Shrine, Wind's Sanctuary, Path of Loneliness, Accursed Growth, Ivory Lighthouse. Therefore, the spell that moves the Sun still exists, and as time goes on (and perhaps as the Balance shifts one way or another) the Illusion spell that covers it is wearing off, first in the Pillars and then in spots that are closely connected with Night and Day. In summary I will give my theory in one sentence: The Pillars of Harmony moved or move the Sun and the Moon through the sky, but currently do not because an Illusion was cast over it to prevent the motion. If you are wondering what will happen if the Illusion fully wears off, I truly don't know. Perhaps the ancient spell no longer works, and a new one needs to be crafted to welcome Night once again. Perhaps it does work, and night will be once again introduced. I am a lowly amateur astronomer and theorist, how should I know? If you have qualms, corrections, changes, anything, please make them. Awi
11. The problem with that is that it leads to a confrontation. For example, since we speak of Balance, an easy example is the Shades and Wodin. When Wodin got stronger and started attacking, so did the Shades. If Wodin had stopped attacking, so would the Shades. But this is different, Amoran and Kalamanira are two pieces of a whole, not two pieces of a system, and so there are different rules. Amoran must be what Kalamanira is not, in order to be whole. Therefore Amoran must be humble, nonaggressive, and kind, things she already is. But more so, she must be these things in the face of herself, and only then can she win. Awi
12. I think fighting or talking will both end in ruin. How can you win an argument with yourself? Also, how can you fight yourself without ending in ruin? To destroy Amoran or Kalamanira is to destroy both. Instead, Amoran must be the picture of humbleness, just as Kalamanira is the epitome of aggression. Kalamanira will strick at Amoran, but the strength and courage of Amoran in the face of danger will overwhelm Kalamanira. How must you fight hate? With love. How must you fight fire? With water. So too must you fight aggression with peace. What will probably be the outcome is a binding of the two entities, and they will be one being. Or perhaps one will win, only Amoran/Kalamanira can know. Awi
13. This happened to me on I am Awiiyas Alt I'll test that Mur... I did remember typing something in wrong, and it's possible I skipped over the mp2, mp3 choice. Awi
14. Welcome to the forums and to the game. Awi
15. On that note I started this thread not as a place to speculate about the player behind the Traveler, but the Traveler and the actions he will inevitably make. Awi
16. Anyone have a million dollar check? I think that would do... Thank you Mur, the presents were awesome. Merry Christmas, Happy Traditions, and the like. Awi
17. Can't download it Grido... Awi I think we can assume that the Traveler is not Santa, as I agree with the above comment that he did not recognize the snow, nor what the people were making (snowmen). So then who is the traveler? I believe we will have to wait a week to find out. Once again, if anyone finds out anything, post it here. And I will do the same. Awi

Adventure Log 1.1

Just a suggestion, I was trying to read back through the AL and it was very difficult with all the different threads all over the place... It would be very helpful if there was a way to view just one thread at a time. This doesn't seem like incredibly much to code, and it would make reading the AL a lot easier. Awi
19. I think there's 8 reindeer. 9 if you include rudolf. He was always my least favorite. Awi
20. Santa Claus.... that would be truly hilarious and wonderful. I hope it is. Awi
21. Doubtful that this has any real meaning for there is: http://magicduel.com/players/traveler Probably a created account long ago that has been abandoned. However, if someone sees an account that looks suspicious, more like Hollowed Zenith, then speak up. I would like to stress that looking for such an account is unlikely to result in any spectacular find. We know from rumors that this Traveler looks unlike anything we have ever seen or can see, so it is doubtful he will use such a conventional form. Awi
22. Another rumor... seems useless to search for his physical being now, so we might as well continue speculating about him. I don't think he is related to anything that we have heard of before. But yes, I suppose it is possible for it to be the Hollowed Zenith. In fact Ady did speak of his return, or suggested it might happen. Time to wait for more answers. Awi Today's lecture from the Hollowed Zenith confirmed that this traveler is not him. He plainly spoke to us all, we were able to view his shape, and he came from Golemus, and so he could not have had a long journey that involved walking. There is another Stranger out in the world, unable to be recognized by us. When he finds the right person he will show himself, this is what I believe. Awi
23. If you want to go with a bad pun: Two Week Eyes Get it... It's once every two weeks... and it gives us a weak vision of MD... ahaha... I crack myself up. Awi
24. I have heard rumors that a mysterious Traveler has wandered into the land. The only information I have gathered so far is a vague description: He has no face and no name and some can't even understand its shape. We also know that he entered the land of MD... So the following are theories: 1. He came as many others, through Golemus or teleported to the Paper Cabin. 2. He came from a bordering country, from the south, east, or north. As he stepped, coming from the sea is unlikely. My impression is that the second is correct, for the rumor said that he was tired, and although teleportation can be tiring, it is hardly a long journey. I have yet to set eyes upon this traveler, and if others would like to share their opinions, or have information on his whereabouts, please speak. Mysterious men always require investigation. Awi
