Sir Blut reacted to (Zl-eye-f)-nea in Snowman contest
Ok so...I have a frost free freezer...which means no 'snow'...I also don't have an ice crusher. I therefore spent some time smashing ice cubes with a rolling pin inside a tea towel....but! I have made a snowman! Here he is:

Sir Blut reacted to Ungod in December thoughts
I'd like to share some random thoughts; it's two years since I joined, a little retrospective on my part. Who knows, maybe some can connect to what I'm saying here.
First off, I find that much of my first impression of MD is gone. You know what the say about the first impression. I personally felt ...mmm...an uneasy, eerie atmosphere. The story of Marind, the visual style (striking because it was different from what you usually see), the 'wtf am I supposed to do', it all created a thrill, a feeling that _something_ is broken. Now, it's more like 'what's happening new?', getting pissed off or laughing at stupid **** or cool stuff; so, it doesn't feel like a game, it's...something else.
Another thing: people who return. I don't understand that. People who return are like people I see everyday in MD, but never talked to them. And it becomes weird when they suddenly say (some of them): 'I'm back and I'd like to do something cool, but there are people who prevent me from playing the way I want to.' You've heard that. What they mean, is that they have a history, with bad and good, the good is why they came back, the bad is why they don't dare do anything, 'cuz they know it will be rubbed in their face. Oh, you're back. Who cares? (i'm kidding, welcome back :) )
But some make alts to come back. To such an extent I don't believe in new players anymore. All I see are alts, alts, alts. The moment one asks a question/says something that shows he/she understood something about the game, I get suspicious. Who the f are you? I think. That is the question - not that 'to be or not to be' lame ****. Who are you, I'm going to spy on you and mistrust everything you say, 'cuz you are OBVIOUSLY an alt. A new player wouldn't know _that_random_thing_. Newbs are a myth.
But new players do arrive and I'm like 'where did these people come from?' And they come to you and start talking to you and stuff as if they're EQUAL. My thought is b*****, I got more AD than you, go sod off'. Then I think I used to be like that and I well up thinking how great some people are to actually help newbs. I wouldn't have the patience; I'd go like 'go read and then come back to me'. So, that kind of attitude is felt. I felt it, I wasn't told that (much), so I am in some kind of love-hate relationship with the vets here. I like them, they're great to actually not say 'f*** off', but I'd like to strangle them, because the attitude is there.
Then I think I'm becoming like that and I get scared. I never thought I'd get to this point :( to actually think I'm better than other (new) players. Maybe there's a genius in there and I brush them off and wait for them to come ask me things (not that I know that much, don't ask me stuff). But I can't help it.
And new people always come up with new ideas, don't they? Creature ideas, concepts, mechanics...Of course, I think 'Chill, we don't care about your little ideas'.
On another note, I like how people can be untrustworthy assholes around here. Of course, being one means people will shun you, you will be ignored, isolated and your only hope will be in newbs who don't know you yet. But you can be one in MD and you won't get a 'no entry here' sign. Even more, you will be someone people can look at, examine, decide whether they want to be like you and stuff.
I liked when Mur stood up for my name change, saying people are entitled to an opinion. It wasn't my intention to offend anyone (not in that manner, anyway), but the fact that I wasn't censored was cool.
I like there are some annoying people in MD. Like, pissing me off. That makes me more focused. The fact that some will shake their heads, even if not saying anything, makes me want to show them.
Also, I didn't really think about MD disappearing up until recently. Like, ending for me (personal issues), or for everyone. Now, I just accept that as a fact. Yes, it might end just like that. There were times when I thought about quitting, so that would've naturally ended it for me. But, you know, it can just go away and there's nothing you can do about it. That's not necessarily a bad thing. The thought gave me some kind of freedom, as if I'm not bound to, compelled to do anything.
Too much freedom is dangerous, though. What if I just quit suddenly because I feel freeeeeeee!!? Idk, but I don't care that much. For now, I feel my MD experience will end with a ban. Why a ban? Because I can't think of another way.
Merry Xmas!

Sir Blut reacted to gpetrov in Citizenship Application
Hello my name is George (George Petrov in game). After completing Jubaris' Quest which pushed me to explore and research a lot I decided to try applying for citizenship :)
A few words about me:
I am an organized and responsible person. I am a software developer which allows me to be online during every work day. I have relatively good communication skills. I have kind of personal rule which is not to ask before trying to find the answer myself or do a research at least. I like to help people.
This is what I can think of for now, I will be happy to answer questions, thanks :)

If easily offended, I suggest you skip this....

A Tainted Angien, a tormented soul and an unholy priest are standing at the gates of heaven, waiting to be judged before god. Angel Michael appears at the gates and says "Alright then, God has decreed a blessing upon you all, that I shall cast final judgement on whether you deserve a place in heaven or whether you go to hell." They all nod in agreement.
Michael says "Tainted Angien, you took original sin and flipped it in reverse, which we don't like here. However, you also gave a spirit of light to the darkness, which we like here very much. So on consideration, you're in." The Tainted Angien smiled thankfully and floated through the gates.
Michael turned to the tormented soul "You have lived in hell already, your whole life, you are granted a place." The tormented soul contorted himself trying to thank the Angel, and floated through the gates.
Michael finally turned to the priest "As for you...you spent your life lording it over everyone and knowingly spreading unholy rumours, burning books and teaching lies, wreaking darkness everywhere...
you're definitely in."

A tailor visited willows shop..
Said the tailor "I'm looking for fabric of all different colours!"
Said the shop man "I'm afraid I only stock greyscale"
"You don't stock colour?! That's insane! How am I to create tones and styles?"
"Ack, don't worry, we have plenty of shades here!"

How many Players does it take to screw in a light bulb? One to attempt to screw the light bulb in, while the other fifty fight over who got to do it.

How many Necrovions does it take to screw in a light bulb? Joke.

How many Archivists does it take to screw in a light bulb? Just one... plus the seven writing the details of what happened.
ed: and due to popular demand from my set of jokes I can't post because they will offend too many people....(I have pre-warned Grido)
How did Jonn lose his eye? Grido's telescope got too close.
ed2, for same reason: Why are they called Golemites? Because if they ever made a decision they'd be called Goledids.

Sir Blut reacted to dst in Revamping MD
How I see things:
The interface can be improved a lot but there is no time and no "bandwidth" allocated to it and I am well aware of why.
On the other hand, there are people with knowledge to make their life easier. Their knowledge could be used. I am really not getting why they are shunned (or maybe in No one's case I do get why and imo it's a childish reason).
So, seems "scripting" is not allowed in MD, the best solution is to do it but just keep it for yourself (which contradicts the belief that all people should have the same advantages). We're going in circles here.
No one had an idea which he remembers from time to time: to have a toolbar where you could add scripts made by players. It's not only doable but it also allows the official coders (be it Chew or Mur) to have a control of what is used, other players are sure the scripts are not harmful and occasional coders have a place where they put their work.
Why ban it when you can use it? You will still cannot stop players that really want to abuse MD if they really want to so what's the point in banning all scripts?

Sir Blut reacted to Jubaris in In response to a discussion...
Nah, I don't think Dark Demon and Fang suggested ignoring the blog because of the blunt way Dst expresses her thoughts (on her private blog anyway), I think it has something to do with them being used as an archetype of idiocy on 90% of the posts in the blog. I think it's stupid to use their two posts as a proof to announce that a flame war on Dst began.
The discussion itself was pretty decent all-around, and despite being insulted as selfish, Witty was very nice and gave her points.
Someone brought up the thought if somebody else posted the thoughts, it would be different. Yes, it would probably be worse, this way people know it's Dst, and know she usually has a more provoking way of manifesting her opinion. That freedom was the whole point of the blog I believe, good for the soul, counter-productive for the relations with other people :P
Even Dst (or at least I have that feeling) closed the matter, and had a mild reaction to the reaction on her thoughts.
Keep it to the usual reputation system war for the posts that are already there to let go of the last drops of frustration, and maybe we should consider closing the topic.
Nobody is entitled to adepts, "poor" EE as one of LR leaders and a respected veteran can actually speak for himself thank you very much, the system needs a fix for years now, everything has been said on the matter.
You want to help the situation? Become an adept of someone who wants to be mp6.
There's a lot of room to be cynical here and make the stuff bitter with some words and conclusions, but I believe Witty sees this as a misunderstanding of her intentions and wants to clear out her name. Please let's avoid the rudeness while we talk forum-face to forum-face.

Sir Blut reacted to dst in In response to a discussion...
First of all I expressed an opinion. Last time I checked I was not forbidden to do that.
Second, yes, I totally agree that anyone can try for more.
Third: I never said you "stole" the adepts (as for the "meaningless" they would have been meaningless no matter if they were yours or someone elses's - I pointed them out just as being null in the economy of the whole adept hood).
What I did say is that yes, I consider this a selfish move (or you being selfish - same ting) because in the process it robbed us of an MP6 (yes, I like to have options so sue me :D). I didn't know if you knew the consequences or not (now I know) and I believe you when you say you didn't want to create chaos. You didn't create chaos. Just a frustration feeling (at least for me, maybe for others and certainly for EE). I didn't want to create chaos either. I simply expressed an opinion (this is why I didn't even bother to post on the forum).
Personally I don't believe you'll be able to pull this through - hence my frustration - (not in the present conditions - I do hope things will change pretty soon since we already were given clues about that by Chew and Mur) but if you do then hats off.
And yes, if it were for me to choose, I think EE deserves it more cause he invested more time into this (I am defo not an EE fan, I still remember when he tried to cheat things in MD) and I simply dont find it fair that this might be reduced to a popularity contest ( EE is not the best RPer or social person but the mp6 and lho jobs that he does, he does it very well - someone recently told me that he's so positive that he's almost unreal - I totally agree so for that I think he deserves more).
LE: almost forgot:
Says the guy who went berserker cause i posted the laby map on my blog :D :D.
Hypocrite and a minimalistic thinker.

Do not let such things stop or discourage you, Witty. You know there will always be people around who will support you no matter what.

Sir Blut reacted to Witty in In response to a discussion...
... that I wasn't able to attend.
I've read the logs, and dst's blog and I understand that she thinks I'm selfish for trying to become MP6 when the population is so low.
I would like to make a few things clear:
I was aware that it would be hard for the population to support more than 2 MP6s at the same time. I am not an extremely competitive person and I do not wish anyone's harm. However, I believe this mindpower is open for everyone who wishes to aim for it, and regardless of age and experience, in the end we should have an equal shot. I did not went to "steal" any current mp6's adepts. The "meaningless mp3s" dst mentioned are new people I tried to bring in the game using my referral link, who unfortunately didn't stay, except one. I tried getting adepts in a healthy way for the game itself, not by creating conflicts and chaos NOR by trying to ruin other people's MP6 status. The exception from that may be the Marind Bell people who offered to support me ( I do not know who they adepted before, nor did I insist for them to adept me instead). I am aiming for MP6, but that doesn't mean I want to create chaos and make it happen overnight. I did not make public announcements begging to get adepts, I don't even have the necessary heat I need for it. I think it's a longer journey and I am willing to go slowly, learn things and gain experience myself. Achieving MP6, for me, would create some sort of "symbiosis" with what I'm planning for Witty's role, which involves a lot of selflessness and is focused on the community, especially helping out newbies.
This is all I have to say for now, I am open to discuss things further.
