1. It has a small coded part, that was a script done by Maebius written years ago, though :)
2. I appreciate the nomination, but I don't think I qualify :P Never coded something in MD.
3. And in the Romanian derby, Ungod produced quality hits to ensure 2-0 score against No one in two entertaining battles. The two Knights of the Bell are now the first contestants that secured a semi-final place. Seal of Six is now down from 3 to 1 contestant, only Sunfire remaining, but as he was a finalist on the previous statless tourney, he has the ability to even the odds. First things first, the only Necrovion representative, Neno Veliki, awaits him in the first round.
4. News from the front! MRAlyon managed to come on top of Jubaris, grabbing a 2-0 score. The percentage difference was tight, especially in the second battle having 46% vs 45%, but the control was in MRAlyon's hands in both encounters, the tight difference was only because of the low amount of rounds. I've managed to grab some statements:
We've seen MRAlyon come on top of you, even though I thought you were among favorites, planting a "Jubba the slayer of statless creatures" nickname in the media, can you tell us what happened? *points creepy doll at Jubaris* - Ah, thanks Jubaris. Well, my creatures and I were battling hard, I think we've shown great character, possession was there, attacks were there, some successful lifesteals were there, but we just didn't manage to score that last couple of dozens of percentage to bring the match to a closure in our favor... In the end, our opponent seemed to show greater passion and desire to win. *returns the doll to Jubaris* Aye that was nearly indeed, but nearly in statless-combat-tourney terms brings you nowhere. What do you expect of the rest of the tourney, and will we see you in the next tourneys, Jubaris? *offers the doll to again* - For sure, Jubaris, I'll be there, trying to be better and stronger, the season is over so I'll first visit my home at Marind Bell and take a good rest, then off to training and building up! Regarding the tourney, my favourite is Clock Master, he's brilliant, he always tick-tacks his attacks perfectly, has really good control over the time of his punches and parries. I cheer for my Marind Bell compatriots, but I also see MRAlyon and Sunfire contending for the title. It would be a really pleasant surprise to see someone else managing to pass one of the favorites though, see some new faces in the combat elite. *returns the doll to Jubaris* Elsewhere, we look for the Romanian derby, Ungod vs No one, one a staunch un-doer of false dieties and the other a seeming fan of the void and complete nothingness, how do you see this, maybe a bit ideological duel? (no comment) Thanks Jubba, you're the man, see you next time! No probs Jubaris, bye bye.
5. Clockie passed Wideberth to secure a first spot in the semi-finals! In the other branch we saw No one overcoming Chewett in a Eastern Lands derby. So much excitement! Currently, the setting is like this: ------------------------------ Sunfire vs Neno Veliki ----->quarter final pair Rophs ----------------------------------------------------------->semi-finals pair Ungod --------------->quarter final pair: Ungod vs No one Chewett vs No one ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------>grand finale Wideberth --------------->quarter final pair: Clock Master vs Wideberth Clock Master vs Nimrodel ----------------------------------------------------------->semi-finals pair: Clock Master vs ? Mirus vs Mythrandir ----->quarter final pair Jubaris vs MRAlyon ------------------------------
6. First fight was done between Clock Master of Knights of the Bell and Nimrodel of Seal of Six, where Clock Master managed to grab two points by getting regular two wins (without victories or loss count on opponent's side) over tough nut Nimrodel, arriving into quarter finals where Wideberth awaits him.
7. I heard this game is stagnating. What would you do to revitalize it? Lack of long-term stuff to compete in with your peers is missing. Hopefully torch will help with that, and maybe statless tourneys, but there needs to be competitive stuff outside combat too. I don't think big number of quests are a solution because that's only for the moment pleasure, some continuity needs to exist like it used to be with Adventure Log (or it seemed to be that way, maybe it wasn't in truth) Say I'm a player who hasn't played for six years. I have no creatures, and little idea of how the game is played now. What are your suggestions for getting back into the game and learning more about the current MD world? and Say I'm a player who hasn't played for six years. I have no creatures, and little idea of how the game is played now. What are your suggestions for getting back into the game and learning more about the current MD world? The lack of competitive long-term stuff goes in your favor :D There is no race, you won't miss out on anything if you don't collect resources you never heard about... If you're into combat raise some creatures, talk with people, check forums for new interesting stuff and do what you feel like doing, you will pick up new stuff on your own soon enough. A solution? It's hard to generalize, can you please tell what are you interested in doing in MD? In AL you were a Necro spy, there's still room for that kind of gameplay :)) You mentioned you liked creative aspect of MD - there is still much room for that, albeit less fulfilling with less amount of people around? Anything else, writing, art, maltreating newbies, etc.? :)
8. Well it's hard to calculate such specific dates 2 months early, well done Dark Demon for such a planned schedule :D But from this perspective, they should be pretty good for me, and yeah, participating.
9. Here's the current setup of the tourney, unofficially named Equilibrium: ------------------------------ Sunfire vs Neno Veliki ----->quarter final pair Rophs --------------->semi-finals pair Ungod ----->quarter final pair Chewett vs No one ------------------------------>grand finale Wideberth ----->quarter final pair Clock Master vs Nimrodel --------------->semi-finals pair Mirus vs Mythrandir ----->quarter final pair Jubaris vs MRAlyon ------------------------------ Finalist of the previous statless tourney held by Miq (which had slightly different rules), Sunfire, and its champion Clock Master have a chance of meeting once again in the finals. Alliance which provided most contestants is Seal of Six, giving 3 seasoned warriors to try to battle for the title. Stay tuned, ladies and gentlemen!
10. Jubaris, id 62639, 2486 active days old, mind power 5, and I'm an alcoholic... Oh wait, I guess clicked on the wrong topic. Favorite fruit: strawberry, or at least it was in my childhood and I just decided to keep it officially favored. Why? Because it is red and it tastes nice. Strawberry juice always had a tough race for me with peach juice. Peach juice won the juice war eventually, but strawberry kept the favorite fruit legacy ever since.
11. Later half of January sounds pretty good to me too.
12. Congratulations Queen Lintara, good luck with your endeavors :)
13. I would like to apply to be an interviewer or columnist :)
14. Applications over! Sorting out stuff time! :) Gonna consult with participants when to hold the tourney, I even have some suggestions for possible alternatives if we have a hard time all getting in the same time. And after that... Distribution at GoE! :) Also, the rules for scoring battles will be similar to Miq' previous tourney, one fight in attack and one fight in defense, you score 1 point if you win (regular win) + 1 point if you are victorious, + 1 point if the enemy gets a loss count.
15. Not too much time left for applications :) Tomorrow when I log in, it's over
16. Deadline for applications is on 10th of November, 4 more days peops! After that, I'll make a conversation with all applicants to agree on the date of the tourney.
17. I think rookie of the year should keep its name, (Dst called me a noob many times, so I'm afraid I'll be publicly shamed by getting nominated :P) maybe even loosening up the requirements a bit. Around a year and a bit more, case by case basis, depending on the public perception, after all it's all about the public recognition? Most improved player sounds nice and can be pondered upon as a new category.
18. I tend to agree with what Chewy said about the minimum amount of nominees, although I like the argumentative value of your explanation. :P Sometimes the award holds some traditional value that transcends the current circumstances of no competition in this year. For instance, Rookie of the year. Let's say this year there's only two nominated rookies. Fine, vote between them, don't cancel the award. Next year there will be more. Perhaps we should define the hardcore awards that must be present every year, and some optional ones depending on the competition, eh? Which ones make MD awards really the MD awards?
19. Updated rewards, now the amount of coins is determined! :P 2nd place gets 4 gc; 3rd place gets 2 gc
20. I pondered upon pimps, and I am closer to 'no' than 'yes', because they bring nothing new and are just 20-attack stronger grassans. And I prefer seeing grassans than pimps :D Losing the sanctity of black&white fights is a sacrifice of a sorts, but to gain variety and more options. I don't see pimp helping there.
